I am all for Lobo. He's one of the two or three DC characters that would actually fit in an MK game.

For!!! My 2nd fav Male DC character next to MM. I'm still upset in 04, when they announced they were making a game of him, and then canceled.

"For". He's one of my favorite DC characters. He sticks out.

He's like a Scorpion or Wolverine type in his brash attitude, mixed with a lot of Quan Chi for his "kill them all mentality" and some Superman for his durability in a fight.

eh...something like that.

Hmm....

Lobo....a character who became popular due to over-the-top violence and black humor who peaked in the mid-90's and then all but faded away into practical obscurity.

Mortal Kombat...a video game that became popular due to over-the-top violence and black humor which peaked in the mid-90's and then all but faded away into practical obscurity.

It works.

But seriously, Lobo is not high on my list to get in by any means, but he can admittedly fit into MK well and represent DC's anti-hero wild card, like Scorpion is to MK.

It's interesting that the two or three DC characters "that would actually fit in an MK game" are two or three of the tragic characters of the nineties, one-note characters whose time in the sun often revolved around one thing.
Granted; Lobo's always had a lot more going for him than one-hit wonders like Bane or Doomsday, but it's just interesting to see the MK fans gravitate toward shallow characters from the 90s.

Not at all surprising, but still interesting...

With only ten or eleven characters in, Lobo's out for me.

Probably, because most of them, like myself, have been more exposed to Bruce Timm's animated universe and Tim Burton's movies than the comic books. Sorry, man, they're just kinda obscure outside of certain circles.

I guess the surprising part is just that characters like Lobo, Bane and Doomsday have endured from that exposure.
They aren't exactly characters involved in the deepest or most brilliant of stories, and they've got to be close to being superceeded by newer pop characters ten or fifteen years after their height.

The resonance is obviously that MK characters have arguably fallen into similar pits of one-note post-nineties obscurity. It's interesting that those are the predilictions of a lot of fans.

Mind you, Dark Knight's Joker certainly seems to be catching...

I don't really like DC so it's gonna be hard for me to find characters I like. Lobo, Bane, and Doomsday are pretty much the only ones I'd like to see.

Im for Lobo all the way. IMO he is the only DC character that fits in with the MK universe. Bane and Doomsday dont really(I know they are more Iconic but still). MK should adopt Lobo. We need a big, bad ass, biker look alike that happens to be a psychpathic killer.

Thats right. DC barely uses him, so MK should take him.
All in favor of MK adopting Lobo?

Yeah... Call me crazy, but I'd say that's probably why the opinions of the ill informed aren't that high on the priority list...

I said I don't like DC not that I didn't know about it. Try, oh I don't know, getting more information before forming an opinion on someone you don't even know. Thanks so much grin

most DC comics are more kid friendly. I know that there were several violent phases, such as The Death of Superman and when The Justice League fought Imperiex or whatever his name is and the Crisis of Infinite Earths. so please, feel free to call me ill informed merely because I'm stating my opinion.

yeah, Superman sure is the source of all violence. Remember when Green Lantern pulled off some petty theif's head? Oh how about the time when Batman shoved one of those battarangs {or however u spell it i really don't give a shit} into someone's head? Yep, good times huh?

... While such brutality does occur in the pages of many headlining DC titles; I'd be loathed to say MK's penchant for Looney Tunes style nonsesical violence is the scope of mature comics.
Ironically, events like this have been very much at the forefront of criticism for recent mainstream releases that have depicted prominent characters engaging in murderous acts, and dealt with themes of sexual assault and sexual objectification.

It's not that I'm assuming you're ill informed.
Each of your posts not only further demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding of what is and isn't 'kid friendly,' but also shows a complete lack of reference for what has occurred even in only the last few years of DC comics. You are quite clearly, not informed.

Video games are a mainstream product that DC can use to expose it's icons to a broader audience. I can only assume you've seen the corporate mandate to remove fatalities, and made ill informed deductions.
Yes. Kid friendly comics do exist; just as Mortal Kombat has a range of toddler friendly cartoons, comics, and licensed products. Many MK fans have apparently been conditioned to confuse over-the-top violence with maturity, and this attitude branches out to conceptual predilictions for characters like Lobo, Doomsday, and Bane, who are all characters defined and designed for one over-the-top moment.

Irreverance and silly violence might be tittilating for the rebelling thirteen year old, but let's not confuse this 'mature content' with maturity. And let's not confuse some poor assumptions for being well informed.
