Why would he be? The game went gold a while ago and he seems to have done a good job promoting the game without stupidly expensive TV/Magazine print ads.

Besides, it wouldn't be his fault if Midway goes down the crapper.

Yeah but the CEO has to be breathing down his neck for the game to be good. I bet at like every turn "Hope that game's good Boon." or "Hey Boon you think your game's good enough to save us?" And Boon is like "It's going to be the best MK-DC Hybrid event ever!!!!"

eh. Not really. The TNA game did underperform. But it was Midway's decision to get rid of liscences that were underperforming/didn't fit with their new business model. Trimming the fat if you will. This action (in theory) is supposed to help out in the long run.

Adds have been run in DC comics this week. I saw freaking 6 pages used in one comic, which made me upset, because, even though I have the Kollector's Edition preordered, I'm struggling to find a way to get the money for the system to play it on...*wouldn't miss out on the extras either way* But, there are several hardcore MK fans (Me, for one *played MK games since early elementary school*), and even DC fans (I've had a few posts get positive attention on comic forums related to DC). I believe that this will at least give Midway some breathing time.

Yeah, I have no doubts the game will sell through the roof. It's got BATMAN in it! If that's not a liscense to print money, I don't know what is.

Speak for yourself. I consider myself a hardcore MK fan, and although I absolutely hated the idea of a crossover game at first, I'm pretty much sold now. The graphics and gameplay look ridiculously good, and that's more than enough for me.

Net profit = Negative 25.4 million

So, MKvsDC only has to make 25.4 million dollars...

Now, Deadly Alliance sold around 2.6 million copies...
2.6 million x 60 bucks each = 156 million dollars...

MK vs DC also had an ad in Mad Magazine this month too. I'm sure MK vs DC will do great in sales, and you don't need to like MK vs DC to be a true MK fan.

You know what though, I'd under estimate sales. Say 1 mill in sales...still recoups.

The more sucky part about it though, is that the cycle continues. I think though, that if this game does really well, the MkTeam might be able to breathe for a next game. Hm...I wonder if "just making it" guarantees another game under similar or worse conditions. Could mean that we see another game, but that they won't be able to pay for quality.

I've been a fan since MK1. Me liking this game doesn't make me less of a fan.

It is okay, we are all used to Midway loosing money at this point.

BTW, Midway makes other games than Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat is just one of their top sellers.

Right now I'm not that worried because midway will be getting DC fans. There are alot of DC fans.

Why would the DC fans stay with MK after the DC characters aren't in it anymore? If they didn't care about MK's storyline before chances are they wont give a shit when MK9 comes around.

They should stop making those horriblre Blitz League games. MK one of the few good games put out by Midway. Midway used to be much better.
