In a world where Kahn and Raiden are brothers familial ties might be reasonable, but there's always the chance that just ties it more specifically to the long rumored MKII/MK3 gap. Or something more general. The plot doesn't seem particularly attentive. Lumping all the bad guys in one bag seems like a pretty reasonable expectation of this game and a familiar instalment to anyone remembering MKA.

Scorp was only a villain in the MK1 game, waaaaay before the mk movies. Other than that he has been a wild card but has been leaning towards the good side as of late, so I don't get where you're coming from with that.

No, Scorpion was not a villain in MK1. He was only after Sub-Zero...who definitely was not a hero.

Scorpion wasn't a villain in MK1. Villains have evil motives and their endings usually involve taking over or destroying the world. Kano had a villain ending. Raiden had a villain ending. Scorpion had a good...if somewhat sad ending.

Hahaha as much as I hate such an idea, it makes me laugh. I've never seen a company destroy the integrity of their own franchise as much as the MK team do.

He wasn't originally a villain, but after the movies, suddenly they start implying Scoprion always hated the younger Sub-Zero and wants him dead. Then you got Shaolin Monks, with Scorpion serving Shang Tsung and trying to kill Liu Kang & Kung Lao for no reason. And then you have Armageddon, where Scorpion hates the Elder Gods and wants the realms destroyed.

If it wasn't movies that started this, it was definitely the non-canon comics. Point is, I wish the MK team would stop sabotaging it's story and characters with bullshit from the awful movies, TV shows, and comics.

I think you're reading too much into it, he was never a good guy in the first place he was always a wild card. SM isen't even cannon and just because he's against the elder god's dosen't make him evil.

Kano has Trevor Goddard's full head of hair instead of Rich Divisio's receding hairline. Shao Kahn is Raiden's brother and possibly Shinnok's son. Scorpion hasn't found out Quan Chi is the one who killed his family yet, like in MK2 or the beginning of 4, but Sub-Zero's Lin Kuei HQ is in the arctic like in Deadly Alliance (you can see it out the front door of the Fortress of Solitude).

There is no place in the MK history where these things could be at the same time. Just let it go. This game doesn't take place in the MK universe as we know it. It takes place in one that's more like the movies, it's some sort of "most recognizeable to casual gamers and non-fans" mishmash history.

I'm actually looking forward to that... I happen to like VS movies, crappy or not. I loved Freddy Vs Jason, Puppet Master Vs Demonic Toys, even King Kong vs Godzilla sounds awesome... and I could even tolerate Alien Vs Predator. I want to see the Dark Knight kick Scorpion's ass, Sub-Zero kick Superman's ass or Vice Versa.

You are on some serious crack because that movie completely raped the Puppet Master storyline. I can only hope to God it isn't canon.

We already know this game is NOT CANON. My expectations for this games story were low the moment I saw the RAGE vid so Raiden bio doesn't surprise me one bit.
