Honestly I agree wih you, Mortal Kombat does need to focus on all other dimensions; that is definately what it needs and definately what I want to see.

And I actually don't know if I would like to see nudity in MK honestly; violence is simply an expression of basic conflict that exists in any telling of a story, gore is simply an exaggeration of this violence. Nudity, however is an inappropriate preversion with no other purpose but sex appeal.

Nudity should be the last thing the MK team should even be thinking about when making this game, fans expectations have risen through the roof in anticipation for this game and I think we all demand a huge step up from the last MK. Some fans would actually rather not see any nudity in MK and would despise the fact. I myself am indifferent to it.

But it is undeniable that its being edged toward, I'd hesitating playing MKD in front of family members because Mileena's costume was so provocative. The limit has indeed been pushed in these last two games, it seems like its only a matter of time until the line has been crossed.

The point is, at this point it almost doesn't even need to be a conscious effort, just remove a couple of inches of cloth from each female character and youre practically there. But the fact of it will be quite huge, if they do just take those couple steps forward, attention will undoubtedly brought to it; and fans will definately react.

Sure it's minor, and it should have no influence on the overall reception of the game for it has nothing to do with the gameplay, but then again, at first glance i can't remember the score nor who was playing at the super bowl where janet jackson exposed her breast.

It comes down to the fact that its a simple attention grabber and thats all, if it did gain media coverage due to controversy people would play due to curiosity, and would hopefully see the true content that all us fans hope this next MK is packed with. That is all that nudity could ever provide, and if it would help or hurt MK8 is an irrelevant question because it is the other content that determines that.

Nudity just catches the eye, it would be the MK underneath that of course mattered, but everyone here's gotta admit, nudity is indeed one hell of an eye catcher no matter what your position on it is.

I wouldn't mind seeing nudity in MK8. I remember reading an interview with Boon, saying MK8 would be in a "medieval" atmosphere. And he also stated that he wanted to add more realism to this game. There is quite a possibility that some characters or maybe even one or two could be revealing. Nudity doesn't always have to refer to sexual themes. I'm sure if most of us can handle fatalities..nudity shouldn't be too much.

Overall, I agree with the thinking that it doesn't add anything to the game, and never will. Since this is so, I think it'll always be a little, or big waste of space. If they include nudity, I predict the following to happen:

Soul Calibur 4 and Street Fighter 4 will come out. They will be awesome. And MK with its nudity will look like it's trying desperately to cling to their coattails by including controversial content.

But since I don't think they're going to push it that far, there's no worries.

What kind of game should Mortal Kombat be? Should it be the plotless, superpower moves "classic" that Street Fighter has become? The overly complex and "hardcore" Virtua Fighter? The flashy and epic Soul Calibur? The poster-boy of 3D gaming, Tekken? Or the "boob-physics" fest of Dead or Alive?

Mortal Kombat has carved itself an interesting niche. While the gore drew the most controversy, many people, including fans, neglect its technological successes. Back in the day, those digitized graphics were GORGEOUS. But also, the combat was actually about as good as Street Fighter's (truth and opinion, take it as you will.) AND it had a great, and surprising, amount of character development, story, and twist endings.

Flash forward to the present. The gore no longer catches the eye, not with such over-the-top splatterfests like Manhunt 2 and Grand Theft Auto raising the bar on controversial content. The graphics no longer make gamers salivate (at least with the last three games' "plastic" models compared to the hyper-detailed works of pratically every other fighter; we'll see how Unreal 3 treats MK8). The story has, sadly, become a complete joke after MK:Deception (you cannot convince me that Shaolin Monks is canon... or, for that matter, Armageddon....), and character evolution and even twist endings have become forgotten, subpar, or "decent" at best. The fighting engine has become stale compared to its contemporaries.

MK8 needs a MAJOR overhaul. Nudity alone wouldn't be enough in this day and age to make people interested. When's the last time anyone heard of BMXXX selling through the roof? Or "The Guy Game" scoring massive retail sales? (I don't want to hear about Dead or Alive: Extreme Beach Volleyball... that's different... and really creepy).

What MK8 NEEDS is revolutionary graphics, like it once had, high-end presentation, a well-developed and satisfying storyline with interesting, memorable characters, silky-smooth animation, and, more than anything, just like any good fighting game, a fighting engine that is both easy to play yet difficult to master.

MK HAS made several steps in the right direction with each game, and I don't want to overlook that. But I've justifiably lost faith in the Mortal Kombat games to deliver a truly killer experience. While this isn't as bad as the MK: Special Forces days, MK8 NEEDS to hit the ground running and blow me away.

Nudity won't do that... though, to be fair, I wouldn't MIND seeing Kitana in some naughty negligee....

So yeah nudalitys could be funny, I also don't think that MK should contain no humor at all. I think it's vital to the series... it just has to be moderate instead of being the theme and there shouldn't be characters like Bo Rai Fatso ( Fart Fatality anyone ).

Rapalitys would fit the dark mood perfectly but that is something I think will not happen anytime soon and if it would it would be pretty offensive I guess. I'd have no problem with it in a videogame but I can understand why someone wouldn't want it.

So how could nudity be integrated into the gameplay?

1. In artworks you get for completing some challenges or something.

2. In cut scenes

3. In winning poses ( girls flashing flesh in the joy of winning )

4. As a special move ingame >a Flash Attack that leaves the opponent stunned for a few seconds

5. Ripped clothing after being uppercutted through the ceiling or kicked though a wall

6. As an unlockable alternate 'costume'
