Shao Kahn is one of my favorite characters. While I agree with Chrome about wanting to see Shao Kahn (and pretty much all other characters for that matter) dress in a functional manner, I can understand why he wouldn't wear pants. With Shao Kahn's design, they were trying to go for a cross between Samurai warlord and a Greco-Roman warrior.
I also have to agree with ThePredator151 when he says that Shao Kahn needed to have that familiar look in this game. Afterall, they are going with all sorts of classic touches with the characters in MK vs. DC so it makes sense for Shao Kahn to have that classic design. In addition, I too would like to see changes to Shao Kahn's costume designs should he somehow return in the future.

I think a good alternative would be more a more gladiatorial "skirt" look. Best way I can describe it is in the vein of various kickboxers attires in recent years. Seen here worn by Melvin Manhoef.

Of course, Shao Kahn's attire wouldn't be made from lightweight nylon... or be that short... but you add a few more flaps hanging down from his belt and suddenly he'd go from leather loincloth wearing fantasy-fetish pornstar to demonic Russel Crowe in Gladiator. Without messing with the integrity of his classic design too much.

I like Rain a lot. He's one of my fav characters. He may be sweet and sensitive (we have no proof of that yet) and he's tough (that's for sure) but not brave. He's the coward of MK. He's got lots of personality and amazing special moves. That is who Rain is.
