Online challenge idea . Imagine mkd konquest when you punched acharecter you would enter kombat .If the online lobby was a small area from mk. When someone entered a charecter would apear to represent the player. Then you could run around the room while you wait . Walk up and casually challenge or have a private chat or attack without warning and prepare for kombat .You would have the chance to deny just like mkd. This would be afun minigame while you wait.
I really like ThePredator151's idea for "catching" the secret character. That'd definitley add some sport to it. It has been officialized that there will be alternate ways of unlocking everything in the game afterall...

Also, hi. I'm new.

Predator151 - Good post on koins, but 1 and 7 are cautionary to me. I don't see any MK Konquest mode with a "home" in regards to 1. The travel is so constant, there's no reason to buy a home. Paying to get into special places like fighting tournaments is reasonable. About 7; we need those little hints, and it's overkill to have to pay for them. They could tax us on secrets worth the Koins. I mean nifty stuff, like when you find a Firefox or Windows shortcut that makes a certain thing way easier. For example: A special process in the game to bring up a profile password you forgot. I'd gladly pay for that. I liked 9 and 10. Ten is wrong in this gen of MK, but it could be fly well in the future.
Your Jet Li "unleashed" idea was shaky, though the rewards were good. It could work as a universal super move or something. A little more on that later.
The idea for "catching" secret characters is great. It would only work as an alternative though. I'm up for any cool way to unlock characters as long as it's not forced on me.
And I agree with you; that pause after a special move/combo HAS TO GO.

Mkjunkie - It would be cool if you could challenge people like MKD Konquest. The problem is annoying the chatters. It would work if that was a specified room for pure one-on-one battles. Kind of like the "quick join" option in a Metal Gear Online Lobby. A room you ONLY join if you want to jump straight into battle. They should have a chat-only room too, if it's not too much trouble.

Rain_Demon - I don't think that would translate well into an online mode. The only way it could be fair is if you started out with equal teams, and who knows what could happen during battle. Double/triple teaming and disconnecting are issues. Still an okay idea. A Tag team mode where you can tag your partner (like Tekken Tag or Marvel Vs. Capcom 2) would be way better.

Darkdevil - KAK for Konquest is good if Konquest has a fantastic story. Otherwise, it could be a waste of space. It would help if you could only get specific KAK things by playing with a Konquest KAK.
Impaling was a little broken though. No return unless it's toned down.

JohnBoyAdvance - Deadhead suggested death trap survival in the first few posts I brought over to this thread. I'm sorry if that's any let down, but at least your idea is a little different.
It would be nice if surviving a falling/moving death trap sent you to another stage. If you just dodged and hung on to the train in the Subway, your foe has to follow you to another section.

theshredder13 - There need not be a time limit on fatality enders. They still are just fatality moves. Though the limit is unnecessary, maybe it could be an unlock thing with KAKs.

Hmm... onto my stuff.

1.) Kreate-A-Fatality looks cool, but it might not deliver. The camera is a reason for this, but it can be changed. The lens is fixed the whole time a KAF is done. Everyone knows of the glory certain camera views at certain times can add.
If the KAF system gets into MK8, or they can fit this into MKA, a replay system would be fantastic. You'd press in a button code as the game says what kind of fatality you did, and the replay will show. Not any old replays; stylistic ones, depending on the code you press. Stuff like 1:30-1:40 of this MKA trailer. That was cool. Preset replays like that would inject even more freshness into the fatalities. Replays should also give you the button code of the fatality, assuming you want to save them. I mean, think about it. Let's say the fatality mini-moves are so easy you can just fire them off. If you make one you like, you might want to look later for reference. It could happen. The replays don't have to be triggered; they could be random and automatic. They could also only show up in high fatality combos, as a sign you have skills.

2.) Thrill Kill - before EA's Cancel Blast made it Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style - had an energy meter which rose as the fight went on. When somebody had full meter, they killed off an opponent.
With some tuning, that system would be PERFECT for MK in the future. People know MK for finishers. Why not make them more important in the system? Fatalities shouldn't be the only finishers. Here's the way I see it:
The meter builds up according to your style, hit frequency, and defense. Think the AGGRESSOR meter in MKT, but a lot more loose. Combos get you some meter. A well-timed counter hit after a parry gets you some meter. Throws get you less meter the more you use them. With a full bar In the first round, you can smash your opponent with a fancy super move, or go for the bareknuckle mode Predator151 suggested earlier (pg. 2). In the second round, you have the option for a brutality style beating or a fatality.

3.) A huge story mode. Konquest is cool, but too many fighting games pass over on their characters. Soul Calibur has a soul-stealing knight, an undead pirate, a ninja, and a samurai. That alone should be a holy quartet. I don't care much for them though. Even after TOS, which didn't reveal much about them.
MK has great characters too. Since MK8 is starting fresh, it would be cool if the characters were solidified and we learned more about them in Story mode. They could even have MKSM gameplay in between big fights. Some will platform, and some will kill a lot of henchmen. Either way, it would be cool.

4.) Isolation of credit. We all know of Mastermalone's trip to E3 and thank him for it. What if it's successful though? What if the game is fixed enough over MKD to say E3 made a big difference? Most people are only thinking of a good game, but I see something else. We need, at the least, a spot for Malone and his team in the MKO Hall of Fame or whatever. We put special spotlight ONLY on them. The people who made significant contributions to the threads which led to the data Malone presented at E3. Let's face it: Everybody can whine about MK's gameplay, but getting something done deserves lots of credit and pointing at the example being set.

That's it for now. Keep the ideas coming. Obey rule #1 though (no stupid requests like what outfit someone should have). I see a couple violators.

Dude, the only thing I really want to see is tag team play.

Just think of pairing up with a friend online, and beating the crap outta another pair of friends.

Personally, this is the thing I wanna see most.

First, thank you for the constructive critiszm axeman61.

And now, The one thing I wanna talk about here is the recognition you mentioned. YES!! Oh I am sooo for that I dea. I believe that just knowing we talk to "the guy" in the video being credited some clever kind of way would be crazy sick. Maybe MasterMalones' sig or avy in there or somthing. Maybe a type of fan art or short...short video or something for the peoples questions that were asked. Sh** maybe even just thier names are found in the game.

Just letting all the people in the world know....The MK Team listens actively in some ways to the fans. I think it would distiguish MK more notably than others. It'd be another thing MK did first. Not to mention blow this site up. I also appreciate recognition myself for cause and effect.

If, now..If the game turns out better than anticipated by the MK Team, and they didn't notice the things mentioned were such big issues for the fans....MasterMalone and this site should get at least some sort of suggestive shot out. I mean c'mon right?

It might even up the morale around here knowing that We are the ones(site). I wasn't around yet when the meeting was being orchestrated or performed, but it wasn't old news when I did get here. I'll definatly co-sign this Idea axeman61. Definatly.

cooolness. alright, what i thought would make mk superb would be:

1. tag battle, survival, team battle etc. but mainly tag battle(the only reason i ever playd dead or alive)

2. wake ups( a lot better strategy)

3. catching the secret character only in single player and on hardest difficulty(obviously wont happen)

4. stage fatalities counters(this would be sooooo cool)

we might see new stuff in mk pretty soon,we haven't seen any real updates in the past months but maube something cool will happen.

and that's why i hate motor combat, not because it might suck(might be really good) but because i bought mk for a fighting game and not some adventure or racing game combo. it pisses me off to, because i know they could've put all our ideas in mk if they would've told their motor kombat depratment, to work on those things that would probably take like 2 weeks to make. u dont know how disappointed i was when i played deception and all they had was arcade versus and practice.

SO ED BOON, PUT MORE TIME IN FIGHTING MODES AND EXTRA FOR GODS SAKE!!!!

This is a pretty lengthy thread so If I cover old ground please forgive me.

I'd like to see Scorpion finally returned to human form. Possibly granted to him by Raiden for helping the Earthrealm Warriors win the final tournament. The curse would be lifted and he would be allowed to rejoin his family in the after life.

Speaking of Scorpion. Does it bother anyone else that Scorpion and Sub-Zero are featured on the same cover as enemies? The intro of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance starts with him chasing Quan Chi in the Netherrealm. Which means, the Mortal Kombat 4 ending is continuity. This is where he finally realizes he's been chasing the wrong guy and that this is not the same Sub-Zero that murder him and his family (which also ties into the Mythology game story line).

At that point, Sub-Zero (the younger brother) is no longer hunted by Scorpion. Plus, it's never really been the same for me when they changed Subs back in Mortal Kombat 2. It's like switching Raidens in the Mortal Kombat movies. It's just not the same.
"Speaking of Scorpion. Does it bother anyone else that Scorpion and Sub-Zero are featured on the same cover as enemies? The intro of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance starts with him chasing Quan Chi in the Netherrealm."

I believe that Ed Boon has confirmed that advertising like this is all non-canon.

In future games, I'd like to see something like a big battle sort of format - like you'd see in games like MechAssault. I'm not sure exactly how hard it'd be to pull this off, but it'd be great to have a battle to the very last fighter standing. Raiden could quickly zap an opponent into a death trap, kill him off, and then turn around to start fighting Quan Chi. Just an example for curious minds.

Fuck Yes @ Above.

I'm not sure if its the right sort of idea for this thread but its an idea non the less.

When you get 100% of the unlockables. You unlock a bonus non canon movie where you see the after effects of Armageddon and a wasteland of bodies. Then you see Tremor, Kia, Jatakka, No-Face, Tasia, and the rest of the non MKA Characters charging, meeting in the middle then stopping looks all around and saying "We missed it!" Then Zebron appears and leads them off into the sunset.

Yeah Comic Gold.

I don't think the engine could handle 60+ fighters at the same time. This really wouldn't work unless it was a tournament mode with individual fights.

counteract each others moves and a few new ideas:

few ex.:

sub can freeze scorpion when he shoots his spear and then the spear is solis as a pole so sub picks up the spear and beats the scorps on the wall

liu kang can turn clear for a minute so projectile attacks can go through him

kano can use his eye laser to cut objects out of the ceiling to fall on the opponent

scorpion can spear things like columns onto his opponent

kenshi can use his teletonic powers to pick up an oblect and drop it on the enemy

when kenshi is near lava or something of that nature he can teletonic powers to pick up a amount of lava and drop it on the enemy to burn them

whether you think the moves like kenshis lava drop or kano s eye laser thing to cut things out of the ceiling should be death traps or damaging moves is something for yall to decide but they could only be death traps when the enemys health is a little more than a 1/4 full. then u would have to do like a test-your-might.

Online mode, cheat protected:
There would be a way for Online mode to detect if a player's using a cheat device. For instance, a person uses a hacked KAK with off balanced moves or hack attributes with a cheat device (Action Replay, Gameshark, etc). A message would pop up saying something like, "Server detects you're using a defected fighter. Please go back or change to another fighter." It would be a really tough code to crack through, so if the player manages to hack through, the game would just freeze and a new message will tell you reset the game. Maybe after awhile, with no response, a scary-ass Shao Kahn pops up and says, "It's official: You suck!" This would prevent people from cheating in Online mode.

I don't really see what extra content could possibly be packaged with the Wii version that would be of any real effect. We already have every character ever in the current version.

I think they should include a tag-team mode. During that interview at the German gaming convention, the dude speaking (don't recall his name) said that they tried, but couldn't get it to work (or that it was difficult). I don't understand this. They got it to work perfectly with Noob-Smoke, didn't they?
