Those are definitely nice, but nothing I haven't seen before in some fashion. Not really the kind of thing that warrants an announcement ahead of time!

It seems the WorldsCollide.com update will be these two images (they just added them both to the site). I too was looking forward to some renders...

I know i was wanting and expecting character renders, but this.... this has really started convincing me the game is not only gonna be good but awsome. The detail in the metropolis stage is amazing. By far the most photorealistic stage i've seen. Thanks midway

)))Hell is a good update from the MK3-T Hell. It's less than adequate by this concept art though. Needs more "Purgatory" in it, more..."threat of death by way of Hell". It's too..um..."absent-the-denizen-of-hell". But I guess it's fine for T rated so I'm not complaining. Looks still hand drawn and painted. Oh, the clouds are a nice touch to the "Purgatory" suggestion, but something will need to be "happening" with that (don't just make people falling from there...it's an old idea).

Hope Hell is "scarier" in real-time. Hell doesn't deliver on the "dark and gritty" claim. Needs more. More um.."people-parts" and some other aesthetics. Flesh, slime, fingers, more demonic elements, instead of just the huge skulls & the orange//red coloring......make alot more of the skulls human and animal-like in size and design...Maybe make some of them "move" out of nowhere or something. Establishing "danger & torment"...contributes to gameplay by way of arena interaction & immersion. Use wet and slimy greys, blacks, and greens...really nasty colors and textures in hell.

Metropolis looks pretty good for a fighting game. Looks like one of the FPS maps, as stated. That one actually delivers a bit on the "dark & gritty" claim however. The loose skull, doll, and the car are on the right track. Overall, the rusty, destructibility the picture hints on, is a good thing.

This one needs more things in it, that don't belong there. since this is a merger. MK needs to violate Metropolis more than this picture shows. And I hope the graphics are alot more impressive, and there are alot of things to interact with. All the vehicles, that globe, even the traffic lights as well as being able to fight in and outside the buildings.Glass ect...

--Bottom line?--

Good ideas for both, but that's all they really look like. "Good ideas". There's nothing really "fresh" about them. Seems really old in how it must be to think out these concepts, in order to conclude on these pictures.

Metropolis being the better of the two, they both have a huge last gen, or "old quality" about them. So, again, both good....but nothing impressive. I feel like I seen this art//these pictures before. Neither capitalize on what's good about where they're showing us.

Gotta step it up MK.
