I think that there should be a more distinctive look to say, the Lin Kuei in general. Kind of like what we saw from the Konquest mode in MKA, with the "official clan outfit" ect. It's like, when Sub-Zero would proclaim "I am not a ninja, I am Lin Kuei", It always raised the question: Well then why do you dress like a ninja then? lol

Exactly! I pretty unpopularly suggested some streamlining in the fan forum for the Lin Kuei.
Not a great example, but I think grounding like that is always easy and really extends to everything relating to the characters. If space is going to be an issue, letting characters like Sub-Zero, Cyrax, Sektor, Smoke all share common moves (preferably with some personalized touches) is a really logical economy that helps further the illusion of their reality.

Of course, the Lin Kuei characters personally known to us are great examples for the capacity for logical change, too.
Cyrax/Smoke/Sektor all deviate together in uniformity from what should be a similarly uniform mould for the Lin Kuei. Then from there each develop their own unique persona through their stories.

Cyrax represents the unison and harmony of humanity and technology. A more military and practical design would make sense as he undergoes maintenance and upgrades with the Special Forces, which may or may not entail exposing more of the man beneath the cybernetics.
The severity of the Lin Kuei's decision to mechanize should mean there's very little of the human left, but you can almost start to imagine Iron Man references, and a design concept making it seem more like a man in armor - a walking tank.

Sektor's really a character commenting on ego and the malice and inhuman aspects of libido and technological development. He's a character that should be getting farthest away from the classic LK model, developing into something more exciting and stylized. I'd be looking at a lot of Japanese mecha references for what you could design there, making sure to give Sektor enough ego to differentiate himself as a superior to the more homogenous underlings of the Tekunin. You could almost cast aspersions to corruption in communism, what with all the red there.

Then there's Smoke, who I would've taken in a very different direction.
I think if you're going to start playing with the idea of a tech-demon combination it should be something more rustic and tangible. If anyone was going to start going down nano-tech directions, it should've been Sektor, I think.

That's just off the top of my head, though.
Peculiarly enough I've never really spent a lot of time thinking about what the designs should be. I guess if I'm not getting paid, I'm not working.

Whatever, I am not here on this site to make petty wars against people who do not understand that video games don't need to be taken seriously. As I stated in a thread talking about the new RE game, people need to take real life more seriously than video games. Such as rotting tomatoes, west nile and cancer are far more serious topics to debate about rather than video games.

The game might be real, but it might only have secret characters from DC. Sort of like how Tony Hawk games have Marvel superheroes as secret characters. However, they don't proclaim worlds collide. I know I know. Wishful thinking right?
