I wonder how long people think they can keep policing words like some sort of word prohibition. Prohibition never works. It reminds me of the "war on drugs" or "the war on terrorism," it's just hopelessly treading water trying to win an unwinnable "everybody stop saying the N word" war. Same thing with homosexuals and "the F word" actually. We should give each other free reign to just address each other by the derogatory term for each respective race or sexual preferance. It'd totally take the power out of those words and then we wouldn't have to go through this silly shit anymore. Or, you know, we could all just go on spending time and energy getting all offended and upset about namecalling for the rest of time, whichever people think is more productive, I guess. Whatever.
On a lighter note, today I saw an elderly woman sitting outside a cafe wearing a Superman outfit and reading a newspaper. It was surreal. People were sitting around her not even blinking an eye as if it was a regular occurrence. Perhaps it was, I don't know. Good for her though. You don't need dignity when you're a superhero.
