In their lyrics they talk shit. "Ghetto this" "ho this". Why in the world would people love listening to that shit? They can't even sing. All they promote is hate and sex in their lyrics. I admit that some of the songs do have some nice beats but they destroy the enjoyment of these songs by talking crap.
It makes me laugh when you see "normal" people dressing like these punks.
Tell me why you like "crap music"?

Ok firstly, be a bit careful how you are coming across.
Granted its your opinion, but dont be 2 forceful about it.
Rap music is like any other, its creative, and full of expression, those that love it are those that live it, like any other type of music.
Dont be quick to put it down, just because you dont like it.
I dont like it, but sure I can tolerate it. I guess Im open minded about musical tastes like that.

You can't tell me that every black and white man are "living it".

I seriously suggest you stop with that kinda attitude.
You want to know what people like about rap...then let them do it.

It's a pity that you don't hear ACDC in a club any more.

You obviously arent goin to the right "club" then.
"Rap" is just as varied as rock. You can't just classify it all the same. Yes, there are posers and "gangstas" promoting and glorifying sex and violence. There was a joke with my college mates that every rap video had girls, (water)guns, and grunting.
To be fair, I am not a very big fan of rap; however, and more recently, the "gangsta" image is subsiding a bit and other people are trying new things. The beats and rhythms still drive the songs more than lyric and melody, unfortunately, but even those are getting better.

Yeah. The beat is the only part of the song that makes it half decent.

You shud also stay clear of double posting.
Feel free, however, to hang about the "Community FAQ" section

I think that 80% of music genres are full of unoriginalness anyway, but rap is one of the worst for me.
If it's not complaining about "life in the ghetto" it's complaining about white cops and jail. If they're not complaining then they're boasting about killing people or having sex. Either one of those or they're all religious "spreading messages" and such.
Believe it or not, music used to be about just that, music.

Every once in a while, I'll hear a rap track that I like.
Maybe it's just the way the mainstream presents it, but a majority (not all) of the rap I've heard is about :
"Look how cool i am"
"Look how rich i am"
"Look how many 'bitches' I have"
"Look how much better i am that you"
"Look how much of a rebellious thug I am"
"Look at how angry I look, even though I'm cool, rich and have more "bitches" than you, am better than you, and am more of a rebellious thug than you"
I've seen plety of exceptions, but for the most part, I can't stand that type of "ego rap".

I listen to Hip Hop/RnB 99.9% of the time, and I know if I stopped to pay attention to what they're rapping about, I'd think it was pretty annoying as well. Just listen to the nice beats, feel the flow of it, and you'll see what's appealing about it.
Maybe go clubbing once in a while and you'll enjoy it a bit more
... unless you're just not a "party" person.
EDIT: The song Subzero2 is talkin' about is a perfect example. Yes, Lil John can be a bit annoying with his "Yeah"s and "What"s, but I think it's hilarious for the most part, and the beat to that song is what makes it addictive.

*sighs* Here we go.....
There is no music different in content than rap. There is also no genre that is void of unoriginality. There is no genre of music that is not expressive about pain and struggle as we all have our own. There is also no genre of music that is like RAP.
By now you should tell I love rap, and would agree that the way it is presented to the masses is in a salty fasion. But what one doesn't have a "stigma" about it? Spiritual, Classical? Nope, think again.
Bottom line, why do I like rap music?? Because it is the genre that speaks directly to me. Stop hatin' a universal language....MUSIC
Your complaints of rap could be applied to the majority of all the other genre's out here too. Rock, carries extremlely similar characteristics to rap and can be compared on various levels. I respect rock because rap has comparible attributes. My ears just don't except Rock the same way as Rap. Lets explore, shall we?::
If you don't like it, don't listen to it, but that will not negate the fact that rap is now the most influential genre of music today. I see more 40+ yr old white women "rollin' on dubs" now than I ever imagined.....

Look your making a moot point. Rap and rock are like brothers from a differnt mother. Really.
The points don't change nor the way they come across to someone who listens to the music...all of the music. If you really listen to rock music then you'll hear more of the things you dislike about Rap in Rock.
R n B music is like thier Big sister and nobody has anything bad to say about Big sis do they?
Classical is no lyrics and Country is all Party, Drink, Kill myself, I'm a bad ass, and I'm a Drunk ect...in retro it's all geared toward those who relate to the sound and themes that get put out, but Rap vrs Rock is crazy....
That's like saying the same stuff in a differnt way....ie she is a hooker (rap) or she is a lady of the night (rock)...same thing.
good examples of sex drugs and violence in Rock though there are millions of very graphic lyrics out there:
Johny Cash - don't take your guns to town (about a boy getting shot at a bar)
Nickle Back - Figured you out (matter of fact the first thing out this guys mouth in that song)
Johny Cash - Hurt (all drugs)
Three Doors Down - Down Poison (come on DoWn PoIsOn >.>)
Tool - Sober ( and I quote "Fucking Jesus..." )
and I could go on and on for days with this one....Rap is more up front about it, but they cover the same subject. It just comes accross differnt for the people they're tring to reach.
This is a Dumb Moot Point
