UMK3/MK3 for me.
I mean MK2 is really easy to beat the computers are really predictable in fact I start off everyday by taking a shower get ready for school beat MK2 go to school in that order.I even beat the arcade version with one quarter once or twice.
But hell I still havnt beaten UMK3 or MK3 yet motaro is way to cheap but then shao-kahn is easy as hell compared to motaro.

UMK3 and MKT were easy compared to MK 2, all fighters have patterns but MK 2's were more difficult to penetrate when compared to UMK3 and MKT.
And the bosses were insanely hard in MK2 with Kintaro and Shao Kahn.
In UMK3 Kahn all you had to do was wait wisely at times when he does his rising knee, then counter with combos, charge him often and teleport wisely with guys like smoke, scorpion, ermac, sektor and robo smoke etc.
As for Motaro, he's easy just jump kick him and charge him all day long with long auto combos.
MK 2 mini boss Kintaro was a bitch compared to Motaro, again another situation where you had to turtle against him to beat him you couldn't just charge him with offense.I know one trick though that some I've noticed don't even post or talk about as an easy way to beat him.Pick sub, go in the corner...bait him to do the teleport stomp then immediately freeze him, push him in the corner and tap HP all day long until he's dead.Subby will punch him until he's dead. It's a corner trap trick.Kitana also works pretty well against him and Kahn if you know what you're doing.
In MK 2 you had to turtle against Kahn more, meaning more difficult to beat. His spear did ridiculous damage, his ram had to be timed perfectly with an uppercut in order to stop it.Considering he did it so fast and often crowding you, it wasn't easy to do.

I can't believe nobody here know how to beat mk 2! If you play as player2 jump to your oponent without attacking, he will walk with you to the corner, you walk back, and then he/she will throw a projectile and attack him! Throwing never works in mk 2. If you are player 1, you duck until your oponent gets close and you jump back and your oponent will do the same and attack him/her. It only works with the 3 ninjas, shang tsung, jax, baraka and johhny cage. Hope this helps!

MK2 isn't the worst MK ever?!?! MK4 or MK:D are worse
WOW, I think you're the first person to ever feel that way man.
What don't you like about it if you don't mind me asking man.
Who said anything about not being able to beat MK2?I just said it's the hardest in general.
Throws never work in any mk period with the exception of the 3D ones, the comp is always annoying with throws.
On MK3 you might get a few here and there on baby easy level lol but even so the comp doesn't like being thrown often if at all ever.
The bosses are the main challenge in MK 2, most can be beat with baiting tactics over and over again such as go close, jump back, wait for them to follow free juggle combo or uppercut. lol easy.
Mileena there's a glitch with her as the comp ALWAYS jumps to do the sai air toss, where all you have to do is jump kick her the whole round and beat her easily.
Since she's a top tier, the computer mileena is really easy to beat.Figured I'd let you guys know that.

UMK3 was hard for me. Finally beat it with Cyrax today.
Funny story though... my roommate last year would fire up his MKT every once in a while, and try to beat his fastest run through the Champion (I think that's the longest one) ladder on Very Hard with Noob (yea, I know, he used Noob, but get this...). One time I walked into my dorm and he was playing, and he double flawlessed a 5-on-1 Endurance match against Ermac, Rain, Reptile, Sektor, and Cyrax. Motaro would give him trouble sometimes, but he'd kick Kahn's ass 9 out of 10 times. I could beat him with some consistency though, using Human Smoke and Ermac.

Hardest is MK2. I think I can like only reach the 5th opponent on Easy. Cpu is cheap, telepathic.
Next hardest would be MKT I've only done it once as Kabal.

Subzero:freeze uppercut Loop this move over and over

IMO,i think MKD is better than MK2, MK2 is plain, boring, bland, etc. It's mainly just a bunch of palette swaps and 5 or 6 non-palette swaps. Plus the fact that there arent many stages, and the CPU is ridicolously hard to beat, just makes it worse.

Definatley MK2,though i play it on my emulator which increases its difficulty severely but even it hink that if it wasnt exagerated it would still be hard.MK3 and UMK3(but not MKT)are the easiest oens in my opinion. After i figured out how Motaro works i always beat him on my first try.Shao Kahn is the hardest boss but..he is doable.

what!!!!!1 all you need is the right combos and your done an if you mess it up he might suck you up so jump back and do a special throw atak then he'll stop and continu the combo i have every ending for that list of fighting him!!!!

Hands down Mortal Kombat 2 in the arcade is the hardes. All the others i can just sit down and say "Im going to beat Mortal Kombat (something) today and with in an hour its beaten. But to Beat mortal kombat II is a real test of a Kombatants skill

thedogpound-"Who was harder goro or kintaro. So i could make my decision"
Kintaro. You had to develop an elaborat stratagy to beat Kentaro. I used Kitana Combos to beat him. But Goro can be easly beatin by just jump kicking forward and backward.

MK2 is the hardest, which makes arcade mode in it not very fun to play. The computer just does projectiles if you jump and throws or uppercuts if you try to uppercut or sweep them. And if you try to get close to them, they'll just pound you with punches. It was very annoying. Kintaro was a pain too. I think the best strategy to beat Kintaro is to freeze him with Sub-zero. As for Kahn, just normal kick him when he gets close, then you probably can take it from there. Watch out for the spear and rush move though.
in UMK3, the only person I found to be hard was Jade. She was a real pain in the ass, at the level everyone in MK2 was at. She'd combo you over and over again.
So I'd say MK2 was the hardest, and least fun to play alone.

In MK3/UMK, with the right fighter (since there are fighters I could simply never perform a combo with), I could actually beat everyone in the row. Motaro and Kahn aren't that harder compared to their MK3 version, I think.
Yes, I agree MK2 was the hardest one. And, not that I am slandering, or something, but it is probably the cheapest MK game (perhaps along with MK4). I mean, come on, am I really fighting that idiotically if Mileena can throw me every time she approaches, or Liu Kang can hit me with a fireball whenever I jump, or I can't hit Cage an uppercut ? Kintaro is a story for itself, even my jump-and-kicks were useless, he would throw me or hit an uppercut anyway...
