Ninja-Mime, you really need to make a harder effort in offering constructive critcism. If you think something "sucks", explain why you think it sucks and try to offer advice. Simply saying something sucks can seriously hurt someone's feelings and self-esteem.

Not only that, but it doesn't show them what they could do to actually make better fakes; if they get no constructive feedback to work with (Shao Kahn is shit, edit him to make him look cooler), how can they try to do something different without a new idea?

I've tried to give you constructive criticism, but you're as bad as UltimateRyu when it comes to actually taking the criticism. Now I just don't even bother.

Anyways, the fake is too big. It cuts off on the post. It is a simple copy and paste job of Shang Tsung and Sub-Zero standing. Nothing is going on. That's boring.

I don't make fakes, but this does look pretty bad. It seems that the biggest thing you're not displaying properly is "natural". Nothing in the peice looks natural.

1. Shao Kahn doesn't look natural back there, he doesn't fit//blend good with the stage he's in....sitting in that chair.
2. He's too...bulk-y for this arena, compare him to the Shang Tsung that belongs back there. It's weirdly obvious that - Shao Kahn..belongs outside somewhere....needs more room...in the room...if he's sitting in that chair.
3. should be at his feet in this arena...
4. What the hell is that in the background behind the window?
5. Statues that big belong outside..
6. You can tell the arena is copied and pasted because the floor doesn't contiually flow.
7. The Shadows of the characters are too dark and not smooth at all. Like a "shadow" should be...
8. You can tell far too easily that Sub-Zero is a combination of Mk2 Sub, & Mk3s' Unmasked Sub-Zero

9. There's supposed to be two windows...that are closer to the throne.
10. Kintaro is a terrible pallete swap-to-stone figure...

when was the last time YOU actually said something constructive? and on not improving, i think i've come a long way in both my fakes and my taking critcisim. so don't tell me what i do and don't deserve in terms of help zentile, because you, torchia and mkrocket are the worst on this board. frankly i really don't care what pull you have with the staff but you 3 should have been banned long before i got here.

to everyone else: sorry about the rant, and i apprechate the constructive criticism. i will try to improve as i always have. and if anyone has any more helpful hints, or advice please post them. its the only way i shall ever get better

1) Grow some and try to create your own textures and not copy and pasting crap together.
2) Quit using eye stabbingly bad designs.

1. looking back, yea kahn dosn't look like he belongs, no excuse since i have a sprite of him sitting in shangs chair.

2. i thought sub came good, well just shows i need to improve. thanks tho on shang sprite comment, it's mk2 shangs head on the body of mk3 shang with some shin recoloring, some mixxing and blurring and resharpening at his neck to get it to blend together. and i made his pants red lol.

3. i was trying to show the difference between kahn and shang. shang loves wealth and gold espcally[i know spelled it wrong.] kahn values actual power more than wealth, and i tried to show that with the statues of goro and kintaro.

No, it's ignorant people like you who need to be banned.

Zentile gives good advice, you just need to listen. It seems he lost his patience attempting to help you. Without people like him, we'd be flooded by shit that gets rated 10/5, no matter how shitty it is.

He used to get on my nerves a lot too, but it feels good when you actually get praise from the people like him, who keep pointing out your flaws.

You can do a lot better when you don't "improve" by half-assing things. Just because it's perfect in your eyes, doesn't make it good. Sit back, and take a look at it after its "finished". The flaws will eventually become clear.

Looking back, I'm ashamed of some of the shit I've made.

Think, plan, coordinate. Don't put stuff together that looks out of place.
I can see where you were trying to go with this bg, but it's a bit too "colorful" for Kahn, imo.

Shang's pants could use smoother shading. They fade to dark too suddenly. His pants shouldn't have a black outline like that, he's not a in a coloring book.

Sub-Zero's outfit looks too cluttered with blank space. Try making designs on some of the blue parts to cut down on blank space.

okay people, lets not create WW4 here with this picture, look obviously what these guys are saying is that you should try harder, avoid making pictures extremely big, when your going to put kahn's chair in somewhere, make sure it looks right, MK1 lvls are not right for something like that. Sub-Zero's outfit doesn't look right but that doesn't mean that the world must end because no one likes it. and kintaro as a statue is just not too interesting. just try again... :)
