Oddly enough I loved Deadly Alliance, the story was at it's deepest then. Every little event tied into each other with such delicate little details creating a bigger, finer piece of work. It was Vogel's MK masterpiece but I think the fighting engine and some of the in game graphics weighed it down quite a bit.

On another note though, (apologies that I forget the guy with the cactuar avatar's username!)

That Scorpion as a car boot sales man comparisson is shockingly ridiculous. Seriously. At least the Lin Kuei done something familar, they automated a member of their clan, albeit Sub-Zero. Though on that note, it means the clan actually successfully carried out what they originally intended to do back in 1995! You honestly can't compare Scorpion giving up being a vengeful, hateful, cliched bastard spawned from the Netherrealm to gain a career as a Car Salesman, to the Lin Kuei automating a member of their clan similar to the way they did in the original storyline. That's just you being over dramatic.

I understand some people are pissed that a mascot of the series got a serious make over in terms of storyline and anatomy, but he wasn't the only fighter in the reboot who's been chopped and altered to suit the time line. Kitana, Mileena, Kung Lao, Liu Kang, Nightwolf, Sindel and Raiden have all had massive alterations to what we've established as their personality, story and character. Yet you don't see their fanbase whining about it.
