Fact: Quoting game designers in an attempt to prove or disprove a theory about the future of the MK franchise is a fool's errand. Sometimes what they say on the subject proves to be accurate, other times it does not. Somehow life goes on.

If that clown thing isn't a hoax, I'm downright amazed that NRS would do something like that, after all the talk of a more mature presentation and wanting to get away from joke finishers. That would be very disappointing.

Although for a man like the Joker, Friendship and Fatality may as well be the same thing.

At least, I think that's what Spider was getting at. tongue

How I see it... He was sent to kill Sub-Zero. That act alone somewhat shows us that he's evil. But, are these cyborgs evil?

I never really thought that Sektor was an evil character when I first played as him and read his story. This program wanted to turn all of the humans into souless cyborgs, was this program really evil? To those who created the Automation Program, they probably did not think that they're evil.

But we fans probably do because of the fact that the cyborgs that we got to play as were basically ordered to hunt and kill Sub-Zero. Thus why Sektor would be considered an evil character.

I don't think he is an evil character, but unfortunately he is marked down as an evil character. He is an evil character because he is ordered to kill someone who is good in this story. But if he wasn't given that order, I'm sure he would be having a different alignment.

So I can't really think of this character being evil due to the fact that he is being ordered to hunt down and kill someone that is good. If he was not ordered around, we might see different aspects coming from him.

But after hes ordered he starts thinking for himself and kills the Lin Lieu master. And when Sub Zero beats him off, he establishes a terrorist organization that are on of the Special Forces main targets.

That makes him pretty evil

Well, I would not refer to ol' Ketchup and Mustard as evil around the MK3 era, no. I agree with you there, they lost their free will, and can't be held particularly accountable for their actions.

But I think most people think of Sektor as evil because of what he does in -later- games. A fairly vicious machina-supremacist (hah, a term I just made up) quite bent on his goals despite no longer having ties with the Lin Kuei, whilst Cyrax chose his humanity.

HAHA D00D ITS AN EVIL KLOWN is a twelve-year old's idea of a dark sense of humor. And not a particularly mature one for his age.

True that his actions after Sub-Zero defeats him are evil...

But yet again, this game is bound to make a lot of changes, and since i did not read the story/ending spoilers for the characters, I cannot exactly say what's going to happen with this character when this game is over.

He could turn into another Cyrax, or he can continue being the character he evolved into. So, as of right now, I am not going to really claim this character being evil if we don't know what he's going to be like (for those who did not read the spoilers) after we beat the game with him and other characters that have a connection with him.

Though, for some gut reason I have a feeling that he might turn into the character that he's always been, probably just in a different way.
