I'm just gonna flat out say it. These select screen pics are are downright ugly. Its like they tried to get too detailed or something and now they look like crap compared to their in game models.

OVERALL, the character select screen is a bit disappointing. The faces of some of the characters (Cage, Sindel especially) look bad, and what's with the boring and plain red background? The music for the select screen in the demo is kinda boring too... *sighs*

IMPORTANT QUESTION:

Is it possible that this pic is actually showing a 1P vs CPU mode?

There are two characters (one on the left- P1, and one on the right- P2/CPU) on the sides of the select screen, but only one character box is highlighted. That probably means that the P1 has already chosen its character (Cyborg S-Z) and is now deciding who to select as his opponent controlled by the CPU (the highlighted box has the letters "Cp" in the lower right corner if I'm not wrong).
