People were doubting Lupinko? Even considering that the information he leaked on two other major fighting franchises proved to be almost 100% correct?

I'm not saying the latter isn't possible, just saying the former seems... more likely.

I sure hope so. I like me some Friendships to mix it up. They are silly, funny, but I don't find them to take one bit away from the dark and gritty feeling of the game. The whole purpose is for fun, so it works imo. Especially when they are creative and pertain to the character. Cage's autograph, Stryker's traffic instructor, and Kung's rabbit in the hat for a few examples.

If Liu has a Friendship, it better be him turning into an MK arcade machine, and the opponent starts playing it. I always liked that fatality, as it's always funny to me, so it'd be nice to see it in the game in some form or another.

This game is amazing...... After seeing all this replay value in a fighting game genre.... I would have to say... Mortal kombat... game.... of... the ... YEAR! Period. After all the complaining and half assing and generic characters and crap they did on MK over the years, they deserve some praise where praise is due. GAME... OF... THE. YEARRR. period.

I'm not sure if alternate costumes are DLC or just something that is unlocked early for you but can be unlocked as part of your progression in the game. There have been plenty of "retailer pre order exclusives" that were just codes that unlocked costumes for you early, like Marvel ultimate alliance you could play as juggernaut early in the game if you pre ordered it but if you didn't you had to wait to unlock him in a later mission.

Just cause I just saw someone else say this would be game of the year...

Yeah... it won't be.

I'm sure it will be awesome, and I'm sure it's a definate canidate for fighting game of the year...

But in a year where Gears of War 3 and Arkham City are yet to come... I don't see it being GAME of the year.

We Mortal Kombat fans are a loyal fanbase, and this game looks great but...

Sub-Zero never seems to win that character tournament on GameFAQs does he?

Heck, Shao Kahn didn't even beat General RAAM... and we would have gotten a character reveal for that.

OH. MY. GOD!!!

Just got a chance to watch the vid. This game is looking absolutely amazing. The challenge tower is already adding a level of depth that we have never seen in an MK game. I can't believe there are 300 of them!

Stryker looks boss. This is by far the best look he's ever had. I really like the retro ninja skins in action. Sindel and Jade look awesome in game. LOL at headless and armless kombat.

Thank goodness I pre-ordered this beast. Too bad the MK truck tour isn't coming anywhere near Georgia.

This is just simply amazing. Absolute kudos to NRS for the amount of content, and features they are putting into this games. I'm loving the MK3 style slot bar, and all the different gameplay tweaks from it. My only question is weather you'll be able to save during the challenge tower, or if it is one shot through all 300 missions, and you have to start over if you quit out?

I know how you feel. I'm not going to be able to do my traditional MK release routine of skipping work and school, and playing MK for 7 hours straight. Actually judging by this video I could easily play it for 24 hrs straight and not need a break.

What I love is that the Challenge Tower actually teaches people how to play the game, even if they don't realize it!

Sure, there will be the typical tutorial and entry level stuff...

But then you have something like "no jumping" and that forces people to develop good ground-based strategies. Or "Orange you glad I came" where you're forced to get good at tagging teammates in and out. Or the zombie shooting, where you have to quickly learn how to shoot projectiles. Or "fire floor" where you have to learn a good air-combat game.

And as you learn and conquer each challenge and move on, you become better and better at the game.

THAT is how you teach people to play a fighting game. Capcom could take some notes.

I feel quite confident in saying that you will be able to save between challenges. Asking people to do all 300 challenges in a row without saving is...beyond cruel.

Wow...

Just... Wow.

This mode looks SO freakin fun!! The slots look like they'd add a ton of fun to the game and the fact that there's 300 of these challenge modes, I mean again, wow.

I'm still hoping for a survival mode, but as far as single player modes are concerned, between this mode, two on two, arcade and story mode, I think they're already a THOUSAND times better than what MvC3 has offered and just in general, I think they're absolutely knocking this game out of the park.

Great, GREAT job NRS!!

You do realize that pre-ordering sooner will not actually... get you the game any sooner. Right?

(lolz)

I typically wait to preorder until the day before the game is released, when I'm 100% sure of what all the sales/deals/bonuses will be at every store, and I can make the most logical, informed decision possible. I know alot of stores tell you that if you wait that long to preorder you won't get the game or the preorder bonus... but yeah... they're lying.

I completely agree. Now that the MK team has the time and budget they need, they are producing the best Mortal Kombat game of all time. Anybody who thinks this won't be the best Mortal Kombat of all time must be insane.

This video is completely amazing! I didn't expect anything like this to be in the game, my mind was blown by the awesomeness of the challenge tower! It's like the challenges on Smash Bros, but in Mortal Kombat!

Awesome stuff I noticed:

. The early challenge tower missions are tutorials that will teach people how to play.
. Baraka is 100% for the morons who doubted he would be in the game.
. Test your sight is back, and the result for when you fail is hilarious!
. Zombie Goro was shown! Goro's entrance looks great, and his stance is also good.
. The Boss characters are not that much larger then normal characters.
. Stryker actually looks pretty good in this game.
. The Pit bottom looks outstanding.
. The retro costumes are a little brightly colored, but look great nonetheless.
. The rooftop has several alternate versions, all of them awesome!
. Test your might is back!
. Test your strike is a new minigame, looks similar to Test your might.
. All the Kombat modifiers look like tons of fun!
. The Milleena Teddy Bear mission is hilarious! These random missions remind me a lot of the Timesplitters games.
. The shooting mission looks like a fun way to learn to use projectiles.
. Shao Kahn looks like he has some good moves, can't wait to play as him.
. The orange/blue mission looks incredibly fun!
. The Tormentor fighting off the military in the background is awesome!
. I like how the tower starts in the Netherealm, and builds its way up to the heavens.
. End game sounds like an awesome challenge grin
. I so want to know what the reward is! Maybe unlocking the bosses and all the Kombat modifiers!?

TOO MANY AWESOME THINGS!

This game is simply amazing, it will be the best MK game of all time. I probably won't go back to play any old MK game except for nostalgic purposes.

The only things I need to have confirmed before this game is perfect are:

. Playable Bosses. I am almost 100% sure they will be, but I need it officially confirmed!
. Survival Mode, especially Co-op Survival!
. Kombat Modifiers for use in Vs. Mode.

After those things are confirmed, I can rest easy and try to endure the long wait until April 19th.

The more I see the tormentor fighting off the military in the background, the more I want to see a cutscene where the military fights off Kahn's forces as they leap out of their portals. I just have this awesome image of Tarkata leaping at soldiers, who are firing wildly.

I just want to re-iterate something that was in the video, and express how awesome I think it is.

Different variations of the same arena is such an awesome inclusion. I had stated a couple months ago, before we ever saw an alternate time of day arena, just how awesome I thought a feature like that would be. The fact that it's now confirmed that we at least have a couple variations on 3 of the arenas provided, definitely makes me happy.

We now have:

The Rooftop:
-Pre Invasion, Day
-Somewhat damaged from invasion, Day
-Lots of damage and destruction taking place from invasion, Night

Shang's Garden:
-Afternoon/Sunset
-Night time

The Pit:
-Night time
-Morning/Day time (It's also raining down ash from the volcano, as well as multiple fragments flying through the sky...very awesome)

This is some awesome stuff. A change in day or weather makes the arena feel like a whole 'nother arena, and keeps them fresh. The fact that each arena is absolutely stunning as it is, makes me happy we get to see that same arena in another visually stunning setting.

A few other desired variants I hope to see included when all is said and done:

Kahn's Arena:
-Picture it at night, with stadium lights shining on the battlefield, with torches possibly in the crowd as they cheer for destruction.

The Desert:
-This one would look amazing at night, with the moon shining down upon it. The most important part, being the millions of stars visible in the sky seeing as it's far from any source of light.

Living Forest:
-I'd like to see this in the morning, where more sun is showing through and brightening things, with lots of fog and haze throughout the trees. Maybe a light drizzle and rain coming down.

The Graveyard:
-Having this at night is a must. Preferably raining as well.

The Bridge:
-I'd love to see this one at night with all the city lights on. Definitely would look cool.

I don't know what level it should be, but I would also love to see a snow level where it's snowing out.

I hope not. I really want to fight in the Pit Bottom. I'm sure they wouldn't go through the trouble of creating new arenas and ONLY having them playable in a certain mode. They were going to do that in Deception with the "classic" stages but eventually said "What the hell?" and threw them in the main game.

I just want to know more on the day/night feature. I hope its not "random".
