Alot of people assume that was Klose Kombat we saw in the trailer where johnny cage grabs sub-zero.

Personally, i think it's something else....it reminded me of an ULTRA, or Super from SF. It looked like something that could only be initiated as soon as you fulfill certain requirements.

But if this was Klose Kombat, how do you feel about its return?

It probably is Klose Kombat....

Or it's part of a fatality where bones are being broken?

I don't care if Klose Kombat returns... As long as they fix that f***ed up "falling kombat" Personally, I hope they throw it out of hte window.

- Tell me, how does it make sense if I punch and kick somebody, and then just because they guess my next move at the last minute I get all the damage when we land?

If test your might returns to MK9 in the form it was in MKvsDC, there better be an option to disable that TRASH.

I wouldn't want to see any of the MK vs DC fight mechanics return to be frank. They were ok in the context of MK vs DC because of the inherent over the top silliness that accompanies superheroes and what not.

But if I was to see Scorpion and Sub Zero charging through the tree in the living forest testing their might, I might just slash my wrists. I hope that the BONES BREAKING thing is either something like the similar mechanic in Tekken's Death by Degrees or it's some form of fatality for Johnny.

I don't think what Cage was doing was Klose Kombat. More likely a fatality or a REALLY elaborate special move or command throw.

At least I hope so.

Please god no, Close Kombat was the worst part of the fighting mechanics of Mk vs Dc to me.
I hope it's just a finisher og brutality or something in that vein.

Perchance to dream....

They might be attacks that damage limbs affecting overall capacity for damage.

But Midway lacks the talent or balls to implement something tlike that.

Tao Feng tried a broken limbs mechanic and it sucked, that's why nobody else has gone there.

If this is some type of new brutal fatality where you see the internal damage, then I'm 100% in favor of it. If it's the return of klose kombat, in any way, shape or form, than I'm 1,000% against it.

Why they thought that putting in something that completely ground the gameplay to a halt in favor of playing rock em sock em robots was a good idea, I'll never know.

I'm REALLY hoping it's a new kind of fatality, but I have this bad feeling it's klose kombat. If that is the case, then wow, it really looks like they're just making this MKvsDC without the DC characters and backgrounds (oh and taking away the ability to side step/move in 3D).

Talk about playing it safe! Please prove me wrong Ed!

No matter what it is....ONE THING IS CERTAIN, people:

it looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Whether this is Johnny's Fatality, Klose Kombat, a Special Combo, a Super-Special Move, a Special Throw, a new Bone-Breaker, a Brutality, or an entirely New Feauture: it looks freaking awesome.

Can't wait to see more of this.

I wonder if we will have the pleasure of seeing more bones, limbs and organs breaking of exploding like this (legs, arms, hearts, lungs, stomach, throats, pelvis, crotch, etc etc etc).

Klose Kombat's not coming back. It's a Fatality...

Suppose we should all wait until the coverage of E3 comes around and have us knowing what's really to expect in this game. Other than that, I saw nothing in the trailer that showed something similar to close combat.

Klose Kombat was dumb as hell. It wasn't the least bit viable. Why use a throw that might not work in your favor when you have an actual throw at your disposal?

I hope that X-Ray Punch was Cage's fatality rather than some gimmicky mechanic.

Ok Ive narrowed down wha tmy mind thinks the possabilities are:

Possible:
-Fatality, all that ending in Cage doing the Decapitation uppercute
-Brutality(because it looks like a slow motion brutality)
-Something we havent seen before.

Not:
-Grab (would slow gameplay too much..
-Klose Kombat(his spine split in ahlf on the body shot, I dont think they would do that and have the battle continue as subzero breaks out a tornado kick. I could see an arm or leg being shaken off, not the spine.
EDIT: mayber a replay mode is included? to view past 100 fights including online, save and zoom on replays, create your own video? I would say any online fighitn game that want sto be top dog, deffinately needs a replay system of some sort to show off your skills.

I think it is going to be like an ultra in Street Fighter but instead it's called a brutality. Klose combat was either hated or mediocore to most people. I don't know anybody who was dieing to have Klose combat come back so i'm positive it's not klose kombat.

I don't think it is Klose Kombat because Cage is punching Sub as the camera zooms in, whereas if it was Klose Kombat you would trigger the actions once the camera is close. Also, he appears to be coming in from different directions.

I hope it's a new fatality, or some sort of brutality. Don't need any more mid-fight gimmicks.

But it doesn't gray out during Kung Lao's fatality....

I really don't think it's the standard fatality.

It's got to be some sort of Fatality. It would slow down combat way too much to have to take close up x-ray shots for each hit in Klose Kombat. I believe this to be a new type of approach to some Fatalities, because it takes the gruesome and brutality level up a notch, and it also expands what you can do with a Fatality. Before it was limited to dissmemberment, decapitations, and explosions etc. All external visual stuff. Now we can finally see what goes on in the inside, allowing things such as broken bones, muscle tears, and organ ounctures to play a part as well. It reminds me of what you see in Blitz the Leage II, and it's an awesome visual if you ask me.

Now we could see a Fatality where you break some ribs, pull out the broken rib and then stab the opponent in the eye with it. That's pretty brutal.

Yeah, I'm thinking the only reason the background goes dark and gray is to make the red and white of the muscles and bones even more up front and focused on.

I'm on the fence, I could just as easily see it being Klose Kombat as a new and improved take on Brutalities. I'd greatly prefer if it's the second though.

Klose Kombat : I wont lie. The thought of this being a KK move scares me. I honestly don't want this garbage making a return.

Fatality/Brutality - I'm completely fine with this. In fact, I would love for it to be a fatality, or even a brutality. That would be sweet.

Throw - Initially, I thought about Sub-Zeros throw. When Sub-Zero grabs you, a special animation comes out where he stabs you. What if this is just the throw animation?

Three possibilities

Klose Kombat: bleh

Fatality: Since the screen darkens it might be a finisher, although I doubt it.

Super: Unlikely, and not exactly wanted. MK can do fine without a Super system.
