Jax looks Badass and he has the best victory pose yet. But the new Subway Fatality was almost exactly what I wanted. in fact I posted it in a thread before only I had the face and arms being ripped off by the first train then your what was left of your body trown infront of the other train.

Gameplay looked amazing. I really want to know if the Living Forrest will have a stage Fatality.

This game makes me want to play as everybody I usually stay with a select few but man every character gets better and better. Originally I thought I would play as scorpion first then cyrax came into the picture and now Jax looks like a beast for once his arms look good hes a grapple character and gotcha is back! I can't wait for the next reveal!

I am pretty satisfied with Jax this time around. He looks rather cool and I actually like that his arms are now replaced with cybernetic implants rather than being mere enhancements. It looks alot cooler and they don't look big and chunky like in previous games. However, I'm not sure how I like the small yellow lights on his arms, they just don't go well with the dark gray metal in my opinion. The olive trousers are just perfect though. I'm glad they didn't go with camoflage or tight purple spandex.

That they have turned him into a grappler is what the series needed. I have always seen Jax as the potential grappler, but this time around the MK team is really embracing the grappling arts (no pun intended) when it comes to Jax. His X-Ray move is quite nicely done as well, firstly breaking his opponent's back over his knee and then doing it again over his neck/shoulders. Very cool.

I wonder why he has that machine gun on his back though. I mean, he doesn't use it in his projectile and we didn't get to see him use it at all. It just looks a bit out of place. I don't mind the idea of Jax using a machine gun though, I mean, he is a military man from America! Of course he should have a gun like that! It's a generalisation, I know, but it just makes sense to me that he would have one.

Jax's winning pose... First I need to say that though most Earthrealm humans seem to be from America (Jax, Sonya, Stryker, Nightwolf, Johnny Cage, Kobra, Subbie being half american), but Jax is the only one who has always been the american of the MK series. Having him using the flag as a blanket is a bit cheesy, however, it is just so fitting! I bet his bed sheets are with stars and stripes as well. ;P

My only complaint about Jax is that I would have preferred him to be clean shaven and bald, but that is just a personal opinion. I prefer my black men shaven and bald...
... Anyways...
He just looks too scruffy like that and as the proud military guy he is, he should at least be shaven.

The Subway stage is nicely done as well. I like the stage fatality and the fact that this time around the opponent isn't just getting run over like in previous games.

Subbie's Spine Rip fatality is something I think they just did for fun. I don't think it will appear like that in the finished version, if it will appear at all. It's kinda uncreative, but he should have a spine rip fatality... just pep it up a bit, make it look more brutal.

Nope, still black, even under the subway lights that kind of brightens them up.

Fuckin' awesome too, the old silver arms wore out their charm back in MK4. At least now he looks like little intimidating.

Okay, so fedegita's monitor needs the brightness adjusted or he doesn't have good eyesight. Either way, he can't tell black from gray.

His arms are not black they're are a dark silver gray black does not lighten up in light black stays black no matter what. His gun is black his arms are not.

Are we seriously arguing about the color of the man's arms? Jesus people... lighten up, who really cares what shade of color it is? I'm with ShaolinChuan here; I'm actually quite surprised you guys aren't arguing about Jax's skin-tone, or the color of his pants... yet.

I was actually thinking the same thing about his skin color...but it's not as if Africans come in just one shade of brown so it's not too shocking. In earlier games he was a lot darker though...but I digress. And whoever made the comment about being clean shaven...how much time do you really have to look in a mirror and clean your face up when you're fighting to save the Earth and everything?

Jax was probably the most improved character in MK Vs DCU. Lets be honest here. Likeable.

They only gone and done it again. He does look awesome here. Although the "AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!"* flag drape is a bit OTT it is Mortal Kombat so its ok.

I do love a grappler guy.

*I can imagine some of you guys shedding a tear as he did that.

I'm SO glad Jaxie still has his steel arms! I really disliked Jax in MK2, but in MK3 he became one of my MANY favorites with those cool steel arms, many games followed, in killer instict Sabre Wolf also got himself some steel arms.

I'm glad they showed us Jaxie, next I hope Sonya or Liu Kang, keep the really rare ones (Sindel, Ermac, Jade, Kabal) for last.

According to your Greyscale then Jax's utility belt is Grey as well, am I right? There is no complete black on an object illuminated by light, especially when texture is the emphasis in the appearance of an object. If Jax's arms are metal, then yes, they are Grey. But if Jax,s arms are covered in a rubber-like insulator, then I would say they're pretty damn black. Which in this case, I do believe they are designed to have a rubber like exterior so I mist say, they are black.

The gray arms are clearly a lighter color than the black belt is and the black neck tubes are and the serrated black gap between his shoulders and arms is, and the lighting has nothing to do with it. They're a different color because they're ACTUALLY a different color, not because of light and shadow.

This is a stupid conversation to be having in the first place, I was just sick of people comparing the design to a piece of fan art that it doesn't actually look like. So somebody drew a picture you liked. You don't have to shamelessly plug their work at inappropriate times. Even if you were posting MY fanart, I'd be like "dude thanks, but that has nothing to do with the conversation, cut it out."

Jax looks ok. None of the characters have great costumes tho, just ok ones. I would ahve preferred him without the metal cyborg arms but oh well whatever.

yeah, i see sonya now, too. i can see a black, or dark, headband under 2 tufts of bangs on the top of the forehead, looks like dog tags around the female's neck, looks like a pony tail... enough evidence for me to say sonya as my 1st guess. it is cool the video had an easter egg reveal for us.

Can honestly say I never really was a huge fan of jax and was alittle dissapointed when I saw it was him. Having said that watching the video again im defenitly impressed with the combos and his newer updated look. Im actually getting more and more excited to play as him. Thats how I know the game looks amazing when every character looks so well done that it doesnt matter if I really cared for them or not I just want to see more and play as them. Id like to thank the MK team for taking the time to spend on detail, I mean yeh it sucks waiting this long but it defenitly looks like it will pay off. Plus when the game eventually comes up all this built up anticipation will make it five times better.

I'm a little disappointed by this announcement. The way it was built up, I thought it was going to be a big important character, instead it's just Jax. Very uninteresting. However I do think the Subway looks pretty nice. Banging the head against the Subway cars looks pretty good. I definately look forward to doing that one.

Jax is badass and I like what they did with him but im not too thrilled about the Subway stage fatality. It just looks too over the top for me. I like the grinding the face on the subway car but I kinda wish it were two separate fatalities cause I dont like the throwing the guy across the stage part
