I'm not an MKUniverse staff member, I just can't help but empathize with their situation. Last April I had to wait in a lobby for 12 hours. At hour seven, I was praying for death.

In an interview responding to the recent wave of cross-brand versus games, Hector Sanchez described the formerly illfated Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat as "inevitable."

He went on to add that there'd be difficulties, but for anyone still hopeful for a crossover game, this is probably a nice little piece of fluff news. A reminder that the team are cognisant of the concept and it's possibility.

Good call, apparently! I was a bit surprised it even came up.
I was a big fat naysayer, and still find it hard to believe Capcom would want to come to terms with Mortal Kombat. Then again, I guess they've got MKvsDC as an example of how a compromise can be met, and having WB behind them probably doesn't hurt. If they're going to fight every major fighting series, I guess it is inevitable!
EDIT: [I also didn't believe MKvsDC would happen right up to the last minute... PFFFFRRRRT!]

Level of detail is wonderful.

Sektor looks better than Cyrax. Kitana looks okay....it's not better than her MkvsDc look at all though.

The arenas are still a really big highlight.

I just feel like an MK vs. Street Fighter at this point would be little more than a relic of 1996. The world moved on beyond the days of Mario vs. Sonic and look what that crossover got us after all this time. I'm sure it'd be fun but it wouldn't be all that relevant anymore. Certainly not like it would have been back in the 90s.

And considering WB's involvement could facilitate using the DC license, merely giving the Marvel game producing Capcom access to the MK characters would seem like a serious slap in the face to everybody.

MK vs SF wouldn't make any sense... One is cartoony, the other is bloody... how can you merge that?

Than you have to pick between, bloody with fatalities on characters like Cammy and Chun Li (don't see that happen) or non fatality and cartoony... I don't see that happen to scorpion and sub-zero...

They merged dc so its highly probable

DC is pretty bloody itself, I can imagen Batman to slice open its victim, I can't imagen Cammy slice somebody open.

Granted, I think the bigger problem here is the general distinction of what certain MK fans think constitutes "cartoony", rather than their grasp of Street Fighter canon. MK has never exactly been the doyen of realism, contrary to popularly confused belief.

This is exactly why I won't be buying it if it did happen. I hate Street Fighter.

Wow...the amount of news we've gotten so far are awesome. I can't wait for more.

I kind of find it hard to believe that the first trailer we saw (the first real news of the game) is the game I'm looking at today.

Not that the trailer sucked, but, it really wasn't that impressive and it even divided the community. The look of the game and characters felt (generally) recycled, old, uninspired, and even a tad boring....but wow, after E3 everything changed.

And now its even better than ever. I can't wait.

As somebody who's been at best disappointed with and at worst hostile to the PS2 era games and always said so at every opportunity, the fact that I can't find anything to seriously complain about now says a lot. I'm currently very satisfied and even excited. The rumored demo can't come soon enough.

Still no KI vs MK, come on now..
