That's actually a shocker. Most places hate it mainly because of the hair and because the uninspired "belly-dancer" look "detracts" from her classic essence and charisma.



It's possible that she is Sindel, but in a completely new and totally different design. I don't see Sindel with that kind of ponytail and without her trademark makeup/goth style.

Sonya's blond hair was less golden in MKSM, btw.

I gotta go with Sonya as well. I'm using my 40" T.V. as a monitor, and it's definitely a female with light colored hair. Most of the females have dark hair color, plus the bangs and ponytail combo fit Sonya's look of the past, so I don't see who else it could be. It's such low quality that it's too hard to see if it's yellowish or not, but I am guessing it would be.

They have gone on record stating certain characters may look different or have alternate storyline purposes this time around, so it'snot too far fetched to imagine Sonya in some sort of a military vest type attire. I think it would fit her well personally.

Look closer........sonya has a beard! i dont think its sonya. even if there is no beard.

The only other character it resembles, of course minus the breasts, is Fujin. Fujin has white/greyish hair, bangs, and a ponytail. He also wears a type of vest. I still say it's Sonya, but Fujin would be my next guess.

If it is actually Sonya, they're definitely taking a more gothic/dark looking approach to her. She looks grim as hell in that tiny pic! haha

Ugh.....people do love to exaggerate regarding her MKvsDC render. Even the hard "manly" features she had in her render are completely meaningless after you see how beautiful her in-game model looks.

Sonya is quite the sexy bombshell in that game. She looks beautiful. Best Sonya ever:

Anyway, they should definitely make sure her next new render looks softer and not as tough as it did in MKvsDC, but she should stay just as beautiful as she was modeled ingame. She looks absolutely perfect.

Remember her alternate in MKvsDC? I can't find a picture of it, but that was quite the dark/goth Sonya imo. She evn had black lipstick and black fingernails!

The only sex appeal and some feminism in Sonya were in MK3 and MKvsDC. The rest were awfully manly models.

By the way, MKvsDC model looks like actress Hilary Swank from One Million Dollar Baby movie but with blue eyes:





And the movie was released before few months from the MK game programming process, I remember when I first saw Sonya's MKvsDC render made me immediately think of actress Hilary Swank from One Million Dollar Baby movie.

Well, there was that render/concept art picture of her and Scorpion fighting in the Pit 2, but, there was also the video that presented the "History of the Pit" which featured Sonya from Mk1 (killing Scorpion) and from Mk3 (killing Nightwolf).
