Wouldn't it be Mortal Kombat 5? As MK:DA and MK:D weren't numbered titles, kinda like how GTA4 is being made even though it went GTA3, vice city then SA.

There are alot of good titles here, but I think that if the game is starting the series over with a new story, lineup, and fighting system, then it shouldn't include anything that would seem like it is coming from another game. So with that in mind, MK:8, Aftermath, and titles like this I don't think should be used. If it were a game that was continuing the story instead of starting it over, these titles would be perfect.

So, the more apropriate title for this game would simply be MK: Rebirth, which someone already posted. Its simple, lets everyone know that it is a completely new beginning for the series if they are newcomers to it, and it also lets those newcomers know that since it is a Rebirth, there were games before it that they could explore.
