No one knows. But its possible that he is as old as the Netherrealm itself.

Hmm. Very interesting. Probably Quan Chi, since he was in MK Mythologies, which was a huge prequel to the first MK game. This was maybe thousands, maybe millions of years before Goro defeated the Great Kung Lao and Shang consumed his soul. And who knows how long Quan Chi was just a rotting Oni in the Netherrealm.

No, sorry. I made a mistake. I meant that Quan Chi existed when Shinnok overthrew Lucifer thousands or millions of years ago.

I need to know something.....

1. How old exactly are the Elemental Gods before they are killed?

2. Were they around since the beginninig of time like Raiden?

If not...

3. Approximately when did they come to be?

This would include Fujin btw.

Hey Pred,

To answer your questions:

I am pretty sure the Elemental Gods existed since the beginning of the realms, like Raiden. I'd say the Elemental Gods are eons old when they are killed.

Very good RC, half of those I didn't realize existed. I mean, they make sense and I remember them now, but I just didn't realize that they were there too. Wiki?

----
Alright, let's have a little fun with this, we'll get a little tougher too.

What does it all Mean?!?

We have a crap-load of renders in the CutOut Thread. So what I was thinking I'd do every now and then in here, is post up one of the renders and see if anyone could not only figure out what the characters calligraphy//tatoo on them means, but post up either the source for your find, and/or a more clear version of those calligraphic characters.

I believe they'll all be Japanese or Chinese symbols (or whatever), but yea, here we go:

Ashrah: (Her symbols are on her hat, and on her "sash?" in her lap.

Click the pic to see the whole thing if necessary.

Probably all apparent to the character(like they might just mean her name in whatever language), but what to they mean?

Oh, and I'll give you a couple dps for every one of these.

Thanks Pred!

Yeah, I did a little research on Wiki. I knew they existed, but I forgot about them. Truth is, that site can be helpful, lol.

As far as Ashrah's calligraphy goes, here is some info on that to stir up the topic:

Ashrah is a female Arabic name, which means "ten". The name is a pun on the deity Asherah, variously viewed as benevolent and demonic by Semitic cultures.

But, as far as calligraphy goes, here is some info on it.

East Asian

Styles include:

Seal Script

Clerical Script

Semi-cursive

Cursive

Regular

From what I studied over the past five minutes, Ashrah's calligraphy on her hat could mean "heavenly light." And her calligraphy on her sash could mean "blessed".

Other than that, calligraphy can have many meanings.

Superb RC!! Now, I just know everyone's not gonna just let you take those dps.. haha.

O.k. then, here's a combination effort:

Bo Rai Cho: What's that symbol on his hip? Is it significant in any way?

Dairou: What's that symbol on his forehead? What does it mean?

Hotaru: What do the characters on his Flags mean in English? What do the completed calligraphic symbols look like?

Have fun with it... 1dp per character here.(more opportunity)

Thanks Pred. No, someone will not let me take the DP's, lol. But, I gotta get my two cents in, lol.

Bo Rai Cho

Like I said, I know only a little about calligraphy, but I gotta attempt.

Bo' Rai Cho's name is a play on the Spanish word borracho, meaning "drunkard."

But, the symbol on his hip greatly resembles the "Ninja Symbol" on the ninja medallion, a medallion that resembles the "way of the ninja".

Dairou

It claims that Dairou's design is similar to the Chinese god Erlang Shen, an enforcer of order. That could be his symbol on his head. Or it could mean "ronin". A rōnin (浪人, rōnin/those two combined calligraphy symbols would make Dairou's symbol if you put it together) was a masterless samurai during the feudal period (1185–1868) of Japan (since Dairou was meant to be samurai). It does have some calligraphy to it, but from what I read, it has nothing to do with "resistance."

Hotaru

The name Hotaru (ホタル, Hotaru) is Japanese for firefly, since Japanese is apart of East Asian calligraphy. That is what is clearly on one of his flags from what I can make out. Though it could mean "Order" or "Abacus" who is the god of Order in MK. Or, it could mean Seido juku (誡道塾, Seidō juku) is a style of karate. And Seido is the city in the Orderrealm.

The possibilities are endless with calligraphy.

I'd like to say a millenium or two ago, because Delia was able to predict all of the MK series. Also, Daegon was awake for the last few centuries, and for the whole MK story, which was a few decades.

I really need to know this:

Could someone separate the canon from non canon in all the MK games, state which endings are true and not true in all MK games. and also state which videos, like the opening videos in MKDA-MKA, are canon. And if the conquest modes in MKDA-MKA are canon.

thanks.

Well, I know that the MKDA and MKD opening videos are canon, while the opening video for MKA is not. The Conquest mode is canon in MKD and MKA, but not MKDA.
