A parry is a new kind of "breaker" like you seen in MKD

It turns an opponent's blow aside, blocking or deflecting the damaging effect.

For PS2 it's R2 + back.

It can be done in the air as well.

include all new characters introduced in the comics, tv shows, movies, adventure games, and anything else MK related; like MK card games and such.

Pretty much a list of all MK-related characters that didn't make it as playable characters in the fighting games. This includes Great Kung Lao, the One Being, Taven's dad ect.

canon and non-canon minor charcters, even include joke characters like Zebron and Kidd Thunder.

If you could suppy me a complete list, this would be tremedously helpful.

In Fencing, it's dumbed down translation is to "deflect" or "slide off". In Mk it's just ridiculous..lol

Soul Calibur 2 - 3 have a pretty exaggerated, but adequate visual of this. Far more-so than Mk though. In Mk it's just a "breaker" with a different name and sorry look to it.

Are you serious?!? That's actually something I've wondered for sometime now. Especially conserning how long characters' life-spans are as far as the story of Mk. So In theory, Sonya, Cage, Jax, and a few other "pure" humans would be more than 200yrs old?

No, because there's only been one actual Mortal Kombat tournament. The tournament in MKII was just some tournament Shao Kahn held in Outworld. MKIII and MK4 were not tournaments. The tournament in MK:DA was just some side thing Quan Chi and Shang Tsung held as a trap. And there were no tournaments in Deception or Armageddon.

Vogel said that ten years (in universe) has passed in between MK1 and MK:DA. The normal human characters should be in their mid or late thirties or early forties.

well, if you pay attention, the information "Mortal Kombat happens every generation" is only seen in non-canonical MK related products, as MK Annihilation, or MK Conquest (well, MK C had some fake information, like scorpion being alive 500 years ago, and he was born maybe thirty years ago, or Sub Zero appearing 500 years ago also, wich is impossible since the actual sub-zero is the 6th one, so 500 years ago, the 1st sub zero wouldn't have born yet, so this errors make me think that everything that happens in Conquest, except the defeat of Shang Tsung, is really non-canonical). in canon mk products, you never see anything saying that MK tournament takes place every generation. and yes, ten tournaments in 500 makes MK to happen each 50 years. another question: for how long is earthrealm fighting in Mortal Kombat? well, we do know that before shang tsung was defeated by kung lao, he won 9 tournaments, Kung Lao saved the earth by breaking the outworld's streak (like Liu Kang did 500 after), and so, MK is being fought by earth for 1000 years. but, in MK DA intro, Rayden states: "for MILLENIA the forces of good and evil have been blocked in the eternal battle of control of the earthrealm" .."millenia"??? so mortal kombat exists in earth for more than 2000 years??! i am confused
