i probly sound like an ass, but i cant resist. he would go to satyr style, not minotaur. minotaurs have bull heads and human bodys, satyrs have human bodys and goat legs. even though motaro should be half horse. ahhhh screw it.

I've been waiting for a render of Motaro and Khameleon. I'm very shocked to see a bidpedal Motaro, but after considering fighting with four legs, I can live with it. Maybe his four legged incarnation is an alternate costume and his back half functions as like a really large and big tail that doesn't move.

Still waiting for Khameleon, and I'd like to see some whole renders of Motaro, Khameleon, Chameleon, Meat, Taven, Daegon, and Blaze instead of bits and pieces from screenshots (or nothing in Khameleon's case).

Yes, because honor and quality are the main contributors to why there are so many Final Fantasy games out there. *Bzzt!* Wrong. The Japanese are just as motivated by money as anybody else. I'm not denying they're good at what they do (Because that would be both stupid and a lie.), but they're no better than us when it comes to wanting to rake in the dough.

Anyway, my first impression of Motaro was that he was a demented Mr. Tumnus (Probably inviting some little Earthrealm girl named Lucy into his lair for a spot of tea.). I'd prefer he had been quadrupedal, but I can tolerate this as long as they explain what on Earth happened without retconning it to say he's a Satyr/Minotaur (When in the last game, they had depicted him as a Centaur in Konquest.).
And I doubt these graphics are final. They still need some touching up, obviously.

Here's Motaro's story: The mutant fanatics wanted a leader made of Meat, but time was running out till Armageddon*. In their mad rush, they savaged a beast that came their way, named Motaro. Motaro survived the onslaught, but swore to destroy the fanatics that savaged and mocked him.

In what little time the mutants have left, they can enjoy Chameleon, Khameleon, Camelion, Combmellion, Camellon-nun, and so on and so on, the spice melange.. the devil's endless variety that serves to distract.


But seriously, if you've played as 4 legged Motaro in MK Trilogy, can you honestly say you've enjoyed it. You basically move the same big sprite back and forth. It was a lot more fun playing against Motaro, because he was such an unmovable block.

If you want to do 3d Motaro properly, you have to study the physics of horses. I don't know of any example of a 3d fighting game with a horse character up to this point. If they could have worked it out, they should've gotten the Nobel mathematics prize. I was expecting a 3d version of the MK Trilogy Motaro, except in stead of moving one big sprite around, it would be one big model. I'm sad that they couldn't solve this creative challenge, but I can't imagine a glorified horse fighting well gainst a ninja.

The appeal of Motaro as a sub-boss was similar to Test your Might, you have to keep jumping and kicking and smashing buttons. Hopefully the new version Motaro(maybe he had gout, gangrene?) is still as good at blocking attacks.

Maybe Outworld centaurians shed their hind legs during mating years.

Where did Motaro's hind legs go? Once again, my Midway source has revealed what happened.

After being killed by Sheeva during Outworld's invasion of Earthrealm, Motaro was sent to hell. Old Moty didn't like hell, and he plotted day and night for his escape. Unfortunately, he couldn't figure a way out over the years. Then one day, he decided to call his travel agent to see if he could get a plane ticket out of Hell. The airline rates were ridiculous, so Motaro knew he'd have to raise money to pay for his ticket, as well as figure a way to fit into an airline seat. In desperation, he called the Netherrealm Glue Factory to see if he could sell them his hind legs (Hey, he is half horse). Now, with the ability to sit down in an airline seat, as well as the cash to buy a ticket, Motaro ventures forth from the Netherrealm, promising vengeance against Sheeva and the Earthrealm warriors.

if motaro came out with a good revenge story that eventualy ends (unlike scorpion....i still like scorp tho people) then he might be tied as my favorite character along with scorp and kintaro. i actualy like his new look.

As for the look it ain't that bad, but I do believe that he was chopped cause it would have been too complicated to make a four legged motaro work. Plus if you ask me its not that the MK team is lazy, its that they don't have the time. Do you want them to delay the game just for 1 out of 60 something characters? I know I don't. From the showings at E3 it didn't seem like he would even be in the game, add that plus chameleon and the separation of noob-smoke as many changes made since E3. Cut the guys some slack, they are trying to balance over 60 characters here.

I like more MKA Motaro than MK3 Motaro... That's cool for me...

It would have gotten really annoying really fast trying to fight with or against Motaro in MKA if he had maintained his horse form. Either way, I've always hated him, and him looking like a goat man now just makes me want to kill him more.

I read every post in here, I Iearned from some of them, and I understand now why they did that to one of my main favorite characters. (just to see him made me happy, so I don't ask for much from the character) I have far worse than a dislike for this change. Almost to the point where I might not even buy the damn game. The capabillity to screw up a character so bad replays in my head over....and over....and over. Even though I understand he might not work correctly in the system we're currently using.

I can't do anything but shake my head.

One supporting idea for my comments and or opinions here:

1. Put him in the game as a boss character (completely) that we cannot play with. Again.

Just like back in MK3/MKT. All four legs, the horses ass, and all man. Just make him right. I could deal with that more than anything else that has been expressed here so far. Happy medium it seems to me.


Maybe I'm just an old MK lover disappointed, maybe I.....Idk. But I know I would hate a change of this magnittude with the "Passion of Christ" to any character. I must admit, Nothing stirred me away from MK. Not waiting for an improved fighting engine, not the dramatic graphic change(MK4), not a good opposing opinion, not my girlfriend. Nothing, I caught the game when wasn't nobody putting quaters in the machine.

I would die laughing if this is the MK team's idea of a joke. I mean, perhaps they used the Create a Fighter mode, to make a two legged Motaro looking character, and screw with y'all's minds. Bwahahaha.

I really hope so man, cuz they just lost alot from me. Idk if I even look forward to the game at all anymore. Willing to favor more of those "Asian" enginerred fighting games as of right now.
