Any one else remember when this was first announced?(Dumb question, how can we forget, somebody tried to bomb Midway,jk) Both these worlds just seemed too different to be able to merge, but from seeing the video about the glorious comic John Tobias made, it really helped me imagine that both these world could collide and are simelar. Seeing Shang Tsung leading a bunch of tarkatans in battle against Wonder Woman and her amazon warriors was amazing. So in short, does the game now make more sense then it did when it was first announced?

Not to me. MK merging with DC will never make sense to me, nor will I ever accept it.

hmmm. i still think they don't go together well and i think that's partly because of the roster they chose and how shallow the connections are. i accepted it as soon as i read it and i'm excited to get the chance to play as DC characters but it's still a silly idea for a crossover.

Haven't you supported the idea from from the beginning though? Real question.

Anywho...

I still feel relatively the same way about it. There were pros, and definitely some cons in the beginning, and there still are those things there(as in any game, really).

As in the beginning with me, I'm just gonna play the thing and see what happens.

So it's still a pretty weird idea, I still don't like pretty much the same things I didn't like in the beginning.

Its not about supporting, its about now being able to envision the two worlds colliding. I supported this yes, but untill the comic book images surfaced I still couldn't really understand these two worlds merging.

I think the game will be a blast to play, and the story will be entertaining to say the least. I'm always up for something different and fun. The same old same old gets boring after awhile. I thought The Hulk Vs. Servbot would be absurd, but Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is one of my favorite games. Give it a try before you say you hate it. You may just like it after all.

I honestly believe Superman over powers characters like Lui Kang, and Sonya. You know, the mortals of the game. characters like Shang Tsung over power characters like Batman, and Lex Luther. However this sheer fact alne will somehow forge balance to the game. Everybody will have the same life bar, and probably the same amount of damage distrubution.

Still think the crossover concept is ludicrous. The comic pages did little to convince me otherwise.

Yeah, at first I was rather insulted that they decided to do a crossover (especially with DC). But now I've grown used to it.

However, never again. This little project of theirs has delayed the next real MK game. And personally, while I may find MKvsDC a cute idea, I'm not one for distractions. I can't wait until we get back on track with the plot.

I think Shaun Himmerick, yes I know I butchered his name, will be doing future MKVSDC games while midway continues to do the main games.

At the beginning, I was:

- Socked in a very kind of indifferent quiet way (hard to explain, it was as if I expected something like this to happen, so even though I was shocked, I wasn’t that shocked at all, I was more like indifferent...hmmm)

- A little bit annoyed after the indifference factor went off. This was mainly because I wanted to see what truly happened after MKA.

- And very quickly I embraced the idea and decided to give the game a chance because I thought it had potential. And my approval or happiness for the game started to grow very quickly with every new info we started to get.

- So, in conclusion, my indifference and annoyance was very very short lived. I became extremely excited for the game in little time.

How do I feel now?

Even more excited then I was at the beginning. Not only has the idea and concept grown on me, but it has also made me fall in love with MK all over again because of the great attention and work they’ve given to the MK world, despite this world being mixed with a completely different and weird one.

This is very ironic considering MKA, that was a game 100% about MK, killed the franchise for me. I love how MKA had some amazing things (Vs screens, concept pictures, cart kombat, amazing Konquest, brilliant music, air kombat, menu screen pics, kollectors edition), but it was overall a major failure and dissapointment. Too rushed, too many things were reused (almost the entire game was reused), and it had NO bios and most endings were poor. Very poor.

That's why I love this game so much. Even though it's not entirely MK, it's actually giving more attention and detail and beauty to the MK world then the last game did. We've never seen the characters in such glory, and we are finally seeing things in the game that should had been implemented since MKDA.

I still think the DC world is weird choice, and I’m not really a huge fan of it, but I do like it a bit, and, after all we’ve seen, I think it’s going to work extremely well and that it has potential.

Get ready for a SEQUEL people....
I still don't really care for the cross over, I'd rather have an all MK cast.

Mainly what I pay attention to is how the game plays, so the crossover is still not a big problem for me.

What I like about MKvsDC are the changes to the combat system. It seems more enjoyable.

All of you people here bitching about this game will buy it anyways. Yes you will, and you know it!

Just curious why even post on this message board if you are going to bitch and cry about a game for 6 months? That's not a "love it or leave it" kind of statement. It's fair to say that because this is specifically an MKvsDCU board and why would you post here if you didn't care about the game? Why would you follow all the news if you didn't care about the game?

You'll buy it and you'll love it. You'll try to keep up your tough appearance on here, but you know you'll buy it!!

Yeah this is the first time I've agreed with Ahnka about anything, EVER. There is more to the DC then most (some) of us perceived and as it finally shows its true self, and more and more DC noobies are becoming aware, we're becoming more educated and fascinated. Before I didn't know much of DC other than watching Superman and Dark Knight, so I didn't really understand the matchup. Now that I have a better idea (pros, cons, compare + contrast) it becomes more clear and makes better sense now. The matchup isn't a bad one, and I think it does go well together with both MK's and DC's dark visions.

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."

Jack Burton went through this series of mental states...

Upon first hearing of the idea:

WHAT IN THE BLUE HELL??? MK VS. DC???!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! ALL THIS HYPE OVER "MK8" WAS FOR THIS??? No way...aaahhhhhh...no...yikes. I thought...I'd heard...this can't be MK8, this must be a spin-off game to hold us over until they make MK8.

Upon seeing some of the first developments with the game:

Man...I don't know about this...although it has been my dream to kick Superman's ass with Raiden, I never thought my wishful thinking would ACTUALLY happen. They're...so different! Marketed so differently toward different age groups, even. There's no way in HELL this will end up rated "M," but in the same token, it won't be rated "E" either...aaahhh, it still burns.

Upon seeing more of the roster/hearing more about the gameplay and main "gist" of the story:

Well I GUESS that makes sense...kinda cool they actually drew some parallels with the MK characters and the DC characters. I guess by the similarities in each side, combined with the "status" or level of popularity/way the character is perceived, it could be an interesting match-up. I think MK will kick major ass. Merged worlds? Merged boss? Who...what...how...???

Seeing character renders/trailers:

Hey, this might not be so bad! This actually looks...FUN. Never in a million years would I have ever guessed I'd find something like this FUN!!! Oh my goodness...WOW. GASP!!! RAIDEN KICKS ASS!!! HIS LOOK IS SO COOL!!! DUDE!!!

The finalized roster/leaked X-Box achievements:

WOW...Johnny Cage DIDN'T make the cut. Wow, I don't even consider myself a fan of Cage, but if they were going by the whole "iconic" character angle in the roster selection, he should have made it...wait a second...WTF??? HEY!!! WHERE THE HELL IS KUNG LAO??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! KUNG LAO!!! I WANTED HIM IN!!! *CRIES...THROWS UP...WIPES AWAY TEARS...oh well...at least my favorite, Raiden, is in the game.

I'm still happy. Wow...I'm such a hypocrite. I'm telling people to be happy we even have a game at all, and here I am upset over the exclusion of Kung Lao...wow, some of these Mileena fans are really getting verbal with people over her exclusion. People would think I was insane if I did any sort of ranting or lobbying for Kung Lao. Wow...Vash is obsessed with Reptile...I'd make fun of his character worship, but the same could be said of me over Raiden and Lao. DLC??? I'd better do some praying!!!

Dear God of DLC, please give me Kung Lao before you give anyone else whoever they want...well, that's selfish of me. Oh well, plenty of other people out there are doing the same thing!!! Oh, and others like Johnny Cage, Mileena, Lobo, Bane, etc. would also be worthy considerations...oh, and Martian Manhunter, too.

WHY JAX AND KANO??? Eh...Jax is obviously in because he's the first black guy in the MK franchise. I do think that's special, but they really turned him into a stereotype in the past few games...Kano, although an orignal, I don't think has quite the fanbase as the others do...even a lot of the veteran MK players like myself are upset he's in.

So Ed Boon is calling this MK8...yikes...so THIS IS MK8...oh well, this isn't canon, and this isn't pure MK, so I'm still dubbing this a spin-off...the next pure MK game will be MK8 in my eyes.

DARK KAHN??? Darkseid and Shao Kahn? This is getting interesting...

Kano's render comes out:

WOW...he actually looks kinda good! Looks like he should be hosting some nature show, so you know they nailed the Australian look!!! God, I sound so racist for thinking Australians should be out hosting nature shows...I love Australians...I miss Steve Irwin. Still not happy he's on the roster.

News breaks that Midway had to borrow money:

So that's why they're making this game...they saw the opportunity to work with a money-making franchise like DC and they took it. Hmmmm...what if Midway tanks? What company would I trust to pick the MK license back up??? Well...so long as they agree to keep the original MK team to develop it, and they have deep pockets from which to spend on the game, then I'd be supportive...yet I don't want Midway to fail. Oh well...knowing the reason why this game is being made doesn't make me think less of it. It isn't just a "charity cause" in my eyes, although some could call it that. I think this will be good...

Worlds Collide gets overhauled:

So beautiful!!! I love the overhauled site!!! Wow...amazing...wow

John Tobias video revealed this week:

Dude, Tobias is awesome...love what I've seen of the comic. I wish he'd come back to the MK team to stay...we could use his perspective again. Dark Kahn...I don't see too much Shao Kahn in him...but he looks cool!!!

Yeah, this is my entire stream-of-conscience from the first I heard of this game. I must say, they slowly but surely won me over. My MK loyalty was tested a little bit there, but I'm in support of this game now. I have no major complaints. Granted, I know I wish a few things were different, and it may sound like I've complained in past postings in this MK vs. DC forum, but you have to criticize somewhat to keep the quality up. You just can't nod your head at everything and accept it.

For those who don't support this game, I support you too. You've got a right to be in objection. You simply feel the franchise has gone in the wrong direction, and I commend you for voicing your concerns. However, I feel this game will end up being a fun play. I'm interested in picking it up for myself. Then and only then will I be able to give a true evaluation of the game.

And THAT'S what Jack Burton has to say at this time.

Well, at first I thought it was a joke. But when I found out it was real I was kinda upset: I wanted to see what happened after MKA and I wanted MK to be a serious game (no Meat) and I wanted a good story (the story in video games is very important for my enjoyment).

However, after watching the videos and reading new info, I grew to like the idea and now I'm incredible psyched about it and now I;m considering getting the kollecters addition (I never have before).

Unfortunatly, all of my friends save one or two and my brother are all dismissing this game completly (one won't even acknoledge it as a real game) and so I will probably be the only one playing it at my house. Oh well, more action for me grin

I got a good feeling about this game

For me it was the comic that really helped make sense of it all. I can't wait to get it, it comes with the kollector's edition right? Also I believe we were all thinking of the cartoons when we were thinking of MKVSDC but as we all know now DC is and can be a very dark universe!

I supported the idea since day 1. I was skeptical at first if it was a gag or not. But overall very excited about the idea. Marvel vs Capcom & Marvel Nemesis worked so well. As a theme. I knew this could set some standards. I mean seriously, what game can you play as Joker, Deathstroke, Lex Luthor, & Darkseid in right now? None that I know of.

MK can't just have one spin-off franchise? As stated its my OPINION that the SM team will be doing future MKVSDCU games, that won't get in the way of future "true" mk games. Anyway I was dreading Lex Luthor, but he looks great, can't wait to play as him!
