That-was-FANTASTIC!!!!!!

Hey, has anyone noticed how we are FINALLY getting many female bios? The first 2 were Sareena (the new chick of mk) and Sonya (the original chick of mk), and it took ages to have another female in the honor wall, next was Mileena (the original evil bitch of mk), then Khameleon and finally Nitara.

Back to subject, Nitara fans all over the world (or MKO lol) should be extremely proud with this long and very interesting bio.

Not only do we find out about many many new things that add depth to the overall story of MK, but also new details about characters that makes us crave for more.

Where to start? Theres so much to talk about!

**THE GOOD**

1.- Vaeternus and Moroi Empire

I don’t know about the rest, but I find this names very cool and suiting for MK. I love it that we finally know the name of Nitaras realm, and even better, we know of an Empire that is being restored to its previous glory, though sadly (or luckily since vampires don’t seem to care for humans much), they are being killed by...wow....Datusha!!!

2.- Datusha: The bane of the Moroi

“Our one natural predator”...How cool does that sound? It was just fantastic and so unexpected and unpredictable! Theres a connection going on now. I still remember the early days of MKD, I had fallen IN LOVE with Ashrash KRISS story, I even made a thread dedicated to the interesting way the weapon played a role in the story and all, and now, we learn that it was just like I wanted, more then just a “one-time-star”, it actually has more importance then what we all thought, and the importance of that sword was already huge, now its just colossal.

Its so sad and amazing to learn that Ashrah is not really purifying herself, she is being used...by a sword, and that sword was not as holly or pure as we all liked, its evil, or maybe its not even evil and it has its reasons for killing vampires. I love them, but Im guessing they aren’t a really nice race to deal with or trust.

3.- Ashrah:

Honestly, who would have thought these two would ever be connected? There seemed to be zero indications about any possible relations, and still, thanks to that wonderful Kriss, we can expect great things for Ashrah, or at least we hope to. Theres potential.

Will she know what the blade is doing to her?
Will she pull a Kahil Grigesh?
Will she fight Nitara again?
Will she exterminate the race?

So many questions for Ashrah, I just hope they don’t mess up her storyline. Hopefully the sword (Datusha) is not the ONLY important thing of her bio or else there wont be much development, we have seen more then enough with Nitaras, sure it has to be mentioned on Ashrahs, but that woman needs to focus on other things to keep her fresh and use her potential. That’s something Im kind of sad with Nitara in this bio, but more of that later....

4.- Kahil Grigesh

Very interesting revelation. Adds a lot of depth to the whole Vaeternus world, and MK in general. Is it likely to see him in MK8?? His mention might be that of just pure necessity, but it could also be a hint or just a big possibility of preparing us to see a vampire in MK8, and Im guessing this guy could be the one...though honestly, we are all sick of the resurrections so lets just leave him dead. Excellent piece of info!

5.- Ashrah VS Nitara

New fued!
Who would win?
Who is the stronguest?

By the looks of it Ashrah, but that might be just because of the powerful sword.

Both are fantastic characters, but I hope Nitara manages to succeed in this mission. Ashrah must be freed, its so cool how this character, despite doing all this horrible things, just wants to be pure, and purify the world (her ending).

**THE BAD:**

1.- Character Personality

Well, I do like the way Nitara sounds in the bio, but for some reason, its almost like if it was Khameleon who was speaking, or Jarek, or Rain, or Sareena. There wasn’t really much character personality in “her voice”, but Im guessing of all those, this “Calmed, diplomatic way of speaking” suits her the best. Not horrible, but a bit disappointing, I had another picture of how Nitara would “speak”

2.- There could had been more to...Nitara?...

I have always said how Nitaras role in MK is full of potential that could lead to many twists and interesting details, THIS bio proves that, she has enough story to be developed to do great things in MK. So what am I doing writing here?

I feel that for those very same reasons, there should had been something, ONE new thing about Nitara, about her character. I don’t know how to explain it. The whole bio is fantastic, but for Nitara, it is too dependent of the “sword”. That’s why I said above Ashrah needs other factors to worry about and not just the sword. Nitara seems to be the most important warrior of her race because of her accomplishments, but we learned nothing really shocking about her.

Hey, Im NOT complaining (I LOVE THIS BIO!!!! grin), just saying that I hope this was done on purpose in order to give Nitara a predominant role in MK8. She is a key to unlock many twists and interesting revelations (like I always said she would do), but I hope to read more about her in the future, deeper revelations that might affect only her and not her entire race, I guess that little bit of words makes my point a bit more clear.

***OVERALL***

One of the BEST bios no doubt. This one gets a 100/10 from me. Its fresh, its interesting, its unexpected, all revelations are new and shocking, it created twists....it has everything to be a perfect bio.

Despite not liking one or two things, its still good enough for me not to really take them in consideration at the time of grading the bio.

It really sucks we didn’t get this before the endings, after reading this bio, well, Nitaras ending feels very very wasted, empty and simple/fake. And it would had been nice to see a mention of Cyrax or Reptile, but I guess it was not that needed. I hope to see them both just as well developed as Nitara.

Many thanks Vogel and MK Team, this was truly a fantastic bio!!! You did a great job Vogel, Im really hoping you have been reading my posts as well as the ones from the other users who give their sincere opinions about the bios, letting you know what we feel fails and what we would had loved to see, what we think was poorly developed and what we think was just pure awesomeness.

This is one of your best, fans in general should be pleased.

100/10

It's like Boon said to the writing team, "Hey... the vampires have no lore... so go nuts with the wacky names and made up new plot details. And feel free to take this other lame newer character without a lot of story development and tie her in too."

Not that I hated it or anything... I'm just saying... this was like... 80% irrelevant to the plot of armageddon... hehe... at least up 'til the end.

Twas not one'a those bios on which the main plot weighs heavily.

Again... not that I hated it. I didn't hate it. It was a'ight... I just wish it had more to do with what was going on with some of the other characters... or a bit of the backstory... rather than completely new, previously unmentioned details about 2 minor characters.

I think some of you are too easily impressed by weird words and funny names. They throw in one "Kahil Grigesh" and everyone goes all, "ZOMG! GENIUS!" ... Hehe...

Onaga's was better... :P

Hey man! Its been ages since last we spoke, I hope you are doing fine. smile Anyway, I have to disagree with your post. Its not that one gets easily impressed with new/weird names, its actually that one gets happy to finally see some awesome story-development making its way through what we thought was the worst MK game because of the story (and other matters).

Also, not being heavily centered in the main plot of the story is a very good thing. I love this kind of bios were we don’t get the stupid “he is being manipulated by him and doesn’t know it, he will claim the price but will loose it at the hands of him who is tricking him, and him will be tricked by him, and him and him, etc”.

It was already too much of the same stupid thing, and learning all these new details makes the story taste better. Like Chrome said, having everyone centered in the main plot would be a waste and unbalance the story, there would really be no interesting this.

I thank God for these characters, specially because the main story of MKA is very uninspired (not the details around her like Delia and the brothers, just the main silly goal of running up the pyramid), and having them all focus only of that in their bios would be suicide.

Just my opinion though. smile
Yay! Great Bio! Props to Midway!

Now watch Midway leave both Nitara AND Ashrah out of MK8, enraging the masses once again.

For sure this was one of the best endings, if not THE best. It would be a shame to let this story go to waste, so I really hope we get to see Ashrah and Nitara make it through to the next generation. 10/10

For some reason, I had always pictured Nitara as someone who only cared about herself, but this proved me wrong as she seems to really care about her fellow vampires. It's always good for a relatively unknown character to get some great development.

Very good bio.

I liked the idea to connect Nitara and Ashrah. It gives both characters material to explore after Armageddon. But, as an Ashrah fan, I'm a little worried about that new way she is taking:

Her goal turned upside down. The Kriss is possessing her. I don't know, but I feel that doesn't seems good for Ashrah...

Other thing that annoys me: Neither Nitara's nor Ashrah's ending matchs with that. So, the end of this story will only be known after MK8.

Anyway, I hope they both return in the future. I think that connection is too interesting to be finished so quickly.

Now I'm dying to see Ashrah's bio.

This bio is my favorite.,Probably the best one I've seen so far. This bio is interesting in all aspects, but It doesn't make any connection to her ending.
Her ending says nothing of Ashrah,or "Datusha",but just the fact that she becomes a "Blood God" and taints all the kombatants to become her very own Vampire slaves, and with them she conquers the realms.

This would be a great reason for her to appear in Konquest, but it seems she has no intrest towards the "Coming of Armaggedon",But only intrest in hunting down Ashrah for a final battle.

Any thoughts guys?

lol "where he commited hara-kiri". To me, a simple "where he commited suicide" would sufice. Its just sounds funny to me. Yes I am immature.

Anyways I love this bio and I love Nitara. Im glad they gave her a good bio.smile

Great bio, atlhough I'm not too fond of the character her bio is sweet like a lot of the others.

This one has a lot of detail though I've noticed. Keep it up Midway, I enjoy every bio just about.smile

This was definitely a great bio. It added a lot to Nitara's character, her race, Ashrah, the overall storyline, and the MK mythos in general. This bio, like Raiden's, really adds in some very cool outside information about the characters and the MK universe at large.

Why couldn't the MK:A's Konquest have been this interesting, in depth, and informative? Man they really crapped the bed with the game's story before these bios were released. At least by releasing these they can save some face.

I'm loving these bios, but I do wish they could release them at a FAR quicker pace. This once a month rate is killing me!

Like many here, I think this bio is the shiznit although i'm starting to wonder whether the endings in armageddon are even gonna be relevent to the story or if midway is going to cut some of this endings out completely. Nitara's ending really didn't make any reference to the things in her bio and it would be screwed up if midway didn't plan on taking this new feud further

Dorado75,

I agree with you that most of the endings are stupid but I disagree that they should tailor the bios to better fit them. I'd much prefer a creative bio like Nitara's to a relatively unispired attempt to fit the ending like Jarek (although even that bio wasn't "bad"). The more creative they get the better IMHO. The endings in MK have never really been all that important anyways, aside from a handful in each game.

Just one question. There's no mention of Cyrax or Reptile. They were with her in MK:DA right. I wonder what has happened to them....

Since her MKDA ending is rendered canon, Cyrax will have been returned to Earthrealm as the ending said.
Reptiles body became host for Onaga but his bio should hopefully clear up how he's managed to become seperated from Onaga.

No worries. I just hope Cyrax and Reptile get good interesting bios. Ashrah better have a good one as well.

Now do you guys see? All characters like nitara, kobra, chamel and khamel ect need is a good story. Thats why i'm against killing characters off for mk8 to be a rebirth. MKDA didn't do a mass annihalation and it was a rebirth. Plus its not easy coming up with new classics, so i hope this get you people thinking against wasting characters because midway didn't develope them right. Any way, great bio, and see guys, this is what midway can do WHEN YOU LET THEM TAKE THEIR FREAKIN TIME.

Nitara is almost never considered for the axe. She's one of my favorite "new" characters and she has a pretty strong fan base already.
------------------------------

Anyway that's the standard every characters bio should be held to...at least.
Learned some history, learned who she's affiliated with and more about them, learned why finally, she's even in Mk.

Now I can follow her, not just like her. It also gives me some justification to not like Ashrah.

Excellent bio, especially by comparison to the others.
Hey, bout time Nitara's Vampire race got its great potential exploited!

The Vampires' were a great idea and a fitting addition to the MK mythos, that were introduced with a mysterious aura in Deadly Alliance... and just left hanging. Now we finally get some more info. Like the frigging name of their realm! Freeing their realm was Nitara's entire motivation in DA, and it's nice to see it finally pay off here.

I dunno why some people seem so shocked that her DA ending was canon. I thought it was pretty obvious. There's wasn't any particular reason it WOULDN'T be, as it contradicted nothing. Go fig.

Now as for the whole Kriss/Datusha thinger; I really dig the connection to the two seemingly unrelated characters, and more backstory/plot twists with regards to the sword are all groovy. I'm just a little puzzled by the seemingly contradictory nature of the sword as presented in Ashrah's story as opposed to Nitara's.

Not to say that any of this in irreconcilable; quite the contrary, Nitara repeatedly drives home that the blade has a "deceptive" nature, so as another user said earlier, it may very well be that the Datusha is only tricking Ashrah into thinking she's purifying herself just to give her an incentive to use the sword more and more. Or it could just as very well be that there's simply more to the sword than Nitara and the other Vampire's are aware of. It's origins ARE a mystery to them after all.

Makes me actually look forward to Ashrah's bio now.

You know, just because the sword has a will of it's own doesn't mean Ashrah wasn't really purifying herself.

If she wasn't pure now, then how did she escape the Netherealm and end up in the Vampire world? That was her whole goal, remember? Erase her soul's darkness so she can no longer exist and Hell, and be forcefully ejected? Sound familiar?

Nitara is a creature whose very nature is technically evil. Of course she thinks the sword that likes slaughtering her people is an evil thing. It's a matter of opinion and perspective.

I really liked this bio. I kind of see what Gillbob was saying about it seeming like they're just random names being thrown around, but for me it works here since we knew so little about the Vampire realm. Now we have a name, some structure, and even some mythology for the Vampires in MK. I like that.

I also like the backstory of the Kriss and this new feud with Ashrah. Seems Ashrah has gone from Demon Huntress to Vampire Slayer. Curious how she got of the Netherealm and what may have happened with Noob Saibot. I like that we get some more insight in Ashrah's possible overzealousness in her job and also subtle hints of Nitara's aloofness and feeling that Vampires are better than other people.

Thing I find most interesting is the ambiguity of the situation. Is Ashrah really just being used by the Kriss? Remember, this bio is Nitara speaking from her POV. So of course she's going to see the Kriss as this evil thing that manipulates it's weilder into murdering Vampires. As RazorEdge already pointed out, it's possible the Kriss is truly a purifying sword and Vampires are simply considered "evil" beings.
