We had the Netherealm concept art, but it's a fair point particularly if we can get more license and diversity from the MK side of things.
I don't know. I'm thinking back to Tony talking about what the game is 'supposed to be,' and I've realised it never occurred to me to bring the two franchises together on established ground. I guess as the first step forward into the 'next gen', fresh off a compilation game, I expected more...

not bad but I was expecting one to be an MK level. Like last time. And since we saw Sub-Zero why not the Lin Kuei Temple?

I wonder if every level will be trying to work the falling combat in, and if so, where the levels will lie with that level. For that matter, I wonder how far they'll be push arenas. Will we be able to fight outside and in?
I'm assuming the Batcave would be confined to the cave (with deliberately absent chasms), and hopefully the Gotham rooftops would let us fall to the streets (Crime Alley?).
Stages that let us move in and out of arenas would be nice, and a feature of last gen fighters that feels like it's been lost...
i was hoping the levels would be more complex than the standard circular ring type thing. Like in DOA3 where you had whole streets, or long strips of forests/creeks and stuff to fight in. still im glad the batcave is included
EDIT: though I guess multi-levelled stages are ok

I don't see what that has to do with what I posted but it'd be dumb to try and work every level into the Free Fall thing. It'll work with Gotham rooftops and maybe Hell but I couldn't see it in the Batcave or Metropolis {unless you start in a building}

Quotes don't necessarily mean a person is talking to you.
Your post prompted a tangent.
I'm not talking about rendering a complete architecture for the place, but it seems like the last gen's promised innovation of movement has been completely forgotten. The falling combat at least alludes to dimensions again...

Which is probably the only reason anyone's hoping to see more from the MK side. There's still hope something might come good!

Oh yea, there were MK stage renders already.Funny how I forgot about them which means for me they really didnt stand out as being that fantastic or something special.
I am still waiting for that one shot of this game to make me say,"WOW."
Oh well,so far it looks to be a decent game but nothing special.Which isnt bad cause I am sure it will entertain, but with this being next gen I thought we would get a amazing MK game even if it is a cross over.

So you quote me but you aren't talking to me? That doesn't make any sense. Why would you do that if you know I'm going to respond to it since it looks like you are talking to me?

Because I constantly over estimate peoples capacity for reading and comprehending context on MKO. You absolute moron... If you spent more time reading and less time trying to puff your chest up and be combative regardless of what's being said, you might actually understand more.
That's probably a good rule of thumb for a lot of the bizarrely confident idiots around here... It's almost insufferable!

Gah! I just noticed... Is that a big chasm surrounding the central area? On my burnt monitor it initially looked like a flat space...

These two renders are amazing. Great graphical detail, and both stages actually retain the dark and gritty feel of Mortal Kombat, which is a welcome surprise. I'll be happy if this applies to the other DC stages (and characters) as well.

How was I being combative? I asked a question and since you were stupid enough to quote me I thought you were speaking to me. If you took the time to quote the right post, maybe people wouldn't think you were a fucking idiot who just tries to start shit. Is that all you do around here? Try and start fights to make yourself feel tough on the internet? And you basically just described yourself with the whole "bizarrely confident idiot" shit. Maybe, now just maybe, if you could use your eyes and actually quote the right post, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Deathbearer, i know MickLucifer can get annoying at times, but he is right. Sometimes I put a quote in my reply to show that I agree with somebody and I don't feel like rewriting the same opinion.
Is this the case now? IDFK... but no need to jump the gun and cause this thread to be closed due to an argument that ignited over nothing significant.

It looks nice... But I kinda wanted the batcave to look like the one from the Adam West T.V series. With the giant signs that labelled what everything was, the elaborate chemistry set and most importantly the two flag poles that lead down from Wane manner.
But more seriously... It looks like the cave from the batman and robin movie. I wish the art could include more bats and be a bit darker. Something Natara can be proud of.

Looks good.
The arena concept art is better than the character renders. However, the bigger pictures jeopardize the quality of the image. So, you almost have to see it smaller in order to appreciate what they did with the thing. Other than that, they look fine. Nothing new or exciting, but these, and the last arena concept art, are better to look at than the renders.
No excuses for the character renders though...those still need to step it up graphically. eugh...

Personal preference? Nah...just the crit this time.
Oh what the hell eh? lol
It'd be nice to see one of these arenas where the "fighting area" isn't so obviously circular. That doesn't even happen often in the comics...Also, every arena doesn't need all the black colors in it in order to establish a "dark mood". Metropolis did okay in this area, but you can get a dreadful feel from colors other than blacks, greys, and browns. Props and so on can help here, so can "too much serenity", "watching eyes", or "things that move around within the shadows"...
So far we've gotten "dark" from the fact that things are actually "black" or "grey" in color. And "gritty" from the fact that things are actually "brown". Oh, and the doll head in Metropolis. Mood hasn't quite been set correctly yet though..even with these arenas.
The Bat Cave is a good place to establish secrecy, so it's a start. But do something with the fear of bats. The rooftop is good for establishing the fear of heights. So, falling off that thing might actually be fun to see a few times. I'd say, just make sure we bump into a gargoyle or something on the way down and I'd be entertained enough to wanna see it happen again.
Overall, like I said they're fine. The ideas are set, they just have to get pass the curse of really weak execution on those ideas..
One last thing actually, change the NetherRealm arena to look less like MKSM's netherrealm....the one where you find Scorpion. There's no need to completely rip that off. Make something different of the same idea.
