Take a look at both these dates
They must be insane to go head to head with tekken 6

Yes! we all know the dates can change but if they remain the way they are midway is way over their head

Uh oh... That might be a pretty bad idea. Then again, maybe Boon is looking for some real competition because he's confident MK is going to do REAL well. Hell, who knows... maybe MK will sell better and do better overall. We still don't know much about the game.

Well, I'm all for some healthy competition but...yeesh. Talk about the possibility of bad timing.
Midway'd have to be insane, or really REALLY confident..either way. hm

... I thought it, and mentioned it when it was announced! Boourns!
It's not like they won't be butting heads with Street Fighter and Soul Calibur as well, either. Which you might argue is good reason to strike with something with a unique mainstream gimmick -- like a DC crossover.
As much as better series may steal sales, it's also going to have the beat 'em up genre back in the spotlight.

No they're not, MK has a huge fanbase plus it's coming to both consoles unlike tekken.
SF could damage their sales not tekken.

If it turns out to be a good fighter, I'll get both. If not, just Tekken 6 and maybe I'll get MK later from the used bin.

If you played SC, SF OR TEKKEN before playing the new one is going to be the same sh@# just with more pretty colors

Actually I know what he's plotting by releasing it same as Tekken 6. If the game MK / DC game fails, they blame it on two fighting games dividing the market.
That way they don't feel this is a huge blunder. Don't worry... wait 2 months and MK / DC will be down to $20.

I think this wins for the most moronic post of the month.

You do know that EB games half the time is inaccurate with release dates right?
I remember asking for UMK3 DS and MKD, MKA the dates kept changing constantly....
One day they told me Sept, then Oct, then it was November before UMK3 DS finally came out.......I also know a friend of mine who used to work there, says never take EB/GS dates that seriously, they're always changing and never accurate until last week with Midway, Nintendo titles a lot.

Yeah like MK changed anything over the last few years and how the hell is SF gonna be the same???? its their first game on NEXT-gen I doubt its gonna be the same both tekken and SF are gonna be big competitors to Mk. Everbody must also put in mind MK has lost alot of its fanbase and many others are having doubts about this game but I hope it does well I want a FUN mk game with smooth gameplay for once
.

MK hasn't lost that much given the "negative fanbase" ha, ha, there's way more fans that outnumber the "haters" besides overall anyway so I'm not worried, in that case all games have lost some fans over the years.
SF fans I know hate the newer games, just like the older games. SC fans I know, aren't too fond of SC 3 and don't like SW characters in SC4. I even remember when Mario was huge in the 2D days, now he's still popular just not as much.
You have to remember, there's many DC fans excited about this game since they haven't had a fighting game or game for that matter that's really big since SNES/Sega days.
JL Heroes was good, but was competing with Marvel's Ultimate Alliance....

Shit man putting SW in SC is just as dumb as MK vs DC IMO. It seems that most fighting games aren't selling without a silly gimmick anymore.

The economy. lol I think you're gonna put more gas in your car to go get the game than you're gonna pay for the game itself.
Of course I'm joking....

Not world wide they're not. I think it was Tekken 5 that sold some 6million copies to the then MKD's 3mill.
However, overall MK consistently sells more units because they put more games out than Tekken. Tekken and MK are pretty even actually when you consider totals for the main MK games. Somewhere just under 15 mill a piece I think it was...
Tekken 6 doesn't have an official release date yet I'm a huge fan of both we're probably looking at a 2009 release for Tekken 6. If it does come out at that time then it does but I think they have enough confidence that the game will do well.Either way I'm getting both I already paid off MKDC more than a month ago

tekken 6 isn't the type of game that gets big hype, because its just another tekken game. MK vs DC on the other hand stands greatly in the fighting game competition. personally, i think MK vs DC is a genius idea.

Mortal Kombat is at 26 million
Tekken at 20 million
MK is one of the very few fighters that still breaks 1 million copies in the states.
Tekken's primary fanbase is in Japan, while MK's is in the states...thus no real problem.

....Despite all the hype Tekken gets from gaming mags and hardcore fighting fans, MK has always outsold it. I see no problem here. Plus, the DC tag on the new MK's title will sway a lot more people than most of us are willing to admit.

Exactly, we have MK and they have Tekken. Both are good but MK is way better IMO. Tekken games just don't have anything really new to the game while in MK it's always a little bit different then the last game.
