Well, depends on the point of view on how you take it.

You see, from a "she did regardless point of view" Kitana was an assassin but that was only because Shao Kahn ordered her to do so or die more or less....what choice did she have?

From an "assassin's satisfaction" point of view or enjoying their job Kitana is not a true assassin, Mileena is...

Surely you understand what I'm saying. Kitana I'm sure didn't enjoy killing people I'm sure, you also get a better point of view of this in the Conquest series since and first MK movie where based off the game her homeworld Edenia was taken over from her and her parents Sindel and Jerrod....she did it because it was either that or disobey Kahn and lose her own life...

What would you do? lol

Because honestly if she enjoyed killing, then why help Liu Kang and the good guys from trying to prevent Kahn from doing the same to Earthrealm as he did to Edenia.

Kitana grew up believing Shao Kahn was her real father. She never knew anything about Jerrod until much later in her life.

She served Kahn because she was being a loyal daughter and she believed that was her place. Conquest and the movies ignore that aspect of Kitana's character and act like she was always against Kahn. She was only an infant when he conquered Edenia and she grew up genuinely loyal to him until she learned the truth...which only happened somewhat recently.

Just how evil Kitana was would probably depend on how evil Shao Kahn encouraged her to be. Maybe she did only see it as a job...but it's also very possible she enjoyed her work.

She helped Liu Kang and the good guys because she discovered what Kahn did to her real parents and changed herself into a good person. That's the whole point of Kitana's story. Redemption.
