Overall though, it really just depends on if you're a good player with that character (know your characters moves and can execute well, AND know how to react to a number of situations). And on the flip side, people choosing the same characters, and spamming the same moves, allows me to figure out solid ways to beat them.
I don't avoid anyone....and if anything, it just makes me want to play that person over and over. So I can figure out how to shit on your strategy. lol! I've gotten so much hate mail already! hahaha...
I got beat alot last night though...lol I don't know what the hell was with me but I lost like 15+ matches out of maybe 30-40 or so. I'm in the top 150 now though, so I'm not too discouraged.
LOL Vash! You should play my FLASH & Subby.
Indeed Minions flash and Subby are beasts.
This dude is a beast to. OMG his Green Lantern gave me so much trouble HAHA.
I want to play both of you. I hope to god you have the PS3 version
we do, my PSN ID is JoeVonZombie
I'm scenekid101 I've played you :D
Cheapness is cheapness and if you wanna be cheap then I call you on it. It's not called laziness but called "time restraint". Apparently you have a lot of time on your hands. I don't. I want to be able to pick up a game and be somewhat competitve with someone without finding loop holes in the game.
Obviously we are just two different people b/c I am not goig to go through your post to dissect and nit pick every detail b/c once again, I don't have that kind of time... Am I saying I am better than you for not having the time? No, we just have priorities that differ... I can pick up a game, learn the combos and be competitive. I can't play you for three hours straight to learn "your moves" and dissect how to beat you and get over cheap tactics. However, If you refrain from spamming I can be competitive with you and we both win.
Obviously you are the spammer type and will defend your stance to the end but we all know that deep down, you know you are cheap and your victories are shallow... This will be the last time I spend replying to you b/c I have to go leatn my level 37, 58% damage Cpt Marvel combo...PEACE!
It's not about winning or losing but how you play the game. Your parents ever told you that? Obviously not b/c your a spammer. Obviously that motto is not true in every aspect of life but IMO it holds true to video games. If you beat me fair cool, if you're being cheap= you're gay!
Finally, yes, you are a loser if being the best MK player in the world is your life dream... Improving your life is great but at least have it apply to skill building and NO MK is not a functional skill. Why am I even arguing with you? After all, you are a MK nerd, LOL.... How's that for blame shifting.

But using cheap tactics, then quitting when someone starts turning your own shit against you, THAT'S low. And far too common.

You seem to keep going back to time. It doesn't take a lot of time. The game has been out for less than a week. You think I have a lot of time on my hands? Final season is coming up for me. It seems to me that you can't really argue much of anything so you resort to strawman arguments. You want to be competitive? Then learn the game. You don't care about being competitive? Then keep doing what you're doing. But you can't have your cake and eat it too (whatever that means).
Just finished you rpost. I'm not balme shifting just saying "I don't have time" so I don't care to learn how to get over cheap tactics. If you lose at chess it is b/c lack of skill, ther are no "cheap" tactics in chess. Same with basketball. I have no problem losing in a competitive match but when it is to repetive bull shit then why should I play? I might as well pop Halo in and shoot a wall for an hour and turn off the game...

Remember what I said. If there are cheap tactics in a fighting game then it's a bad fighting game. So why would you play it? A fighting game should be "fair" to the point where every character has the tools needed to best the rest of the cast. Some fights might be more uphill than others but in general everyone should be capable.
And yes, that "blame shifting" you just did said a lot more about you than me. Hell, I'm not even very good at the game. I just know that if I lose it's my own damn fault. I find it interesting that you are getting far more riled up over this conversation (that I thought was perfectly cordial) than I am. Usually when someone responds far more aggressively than the other person that tends to mean the former is feeling uncertain about his position and needs to use aggression as a means of arguing his point because the words are just not there.

"You see, I face a whole new Monster!! I face a man, who represents, the Nintendo Entertainment System..."
I noticed the lex corner trap infinite, jax/clark ground pound; is there still TSD crap in this game? Rage looks interesting; I noticed it hits at a certain range, is it unblockable? Can you buffer/cancel into moves, strings, combo with it? Like launcher, dash in, rage, continue combo or string, cancel w/ rage, combo?
Edit: watched some more vids. Can Kitana control space as well as it looks? Her fans seem to have a funky hit box, too.

s it part of the game? Yes. Can it still be in the game and be cheap? Yes. As a matter of fact, I have only came across one or two people like that and both times have found loop holes to beat them. However it did cause me to get my ass kicked 7 times in a row b4 I caught on and whooped them BUT BOTH times I was a second from victory the tool bag would quit the game.
What kind of sportsmanship is that? Yet that is what happens and that is what I call bullshit on. Everytime I have had a MK game onilne I have always won more than I lost but it still doesn't change the fact that there were some cheap asses that just cared about winning and woud spam. That is bull shit and that is all that can be said about it. If you don't like it, then don't blame the spammers... But don't play against him either, he just needed the attention. Your choice, and this is exactly why Vash created this thread...
And he constantly used the square, square, square combo than teleported behind me and used it again.
If I got outta that he constantly used his 'Superman' flying thunder god move. It got really annoying.
I didn't get his name but damn it got annoying. I even said to him 'What the tit you think ya doin?'

A) Set down the controller and realize if you fail at this game, you will fail at life.
B) Piss and moan, find a snot rag and a roll of toilet paper to wipe away the tears.
C) Run to your parents and tell them, some guy is doing something to you the offline A.I. wouldn't.
D) Throw your controller at a wall, then feel pissed realizing you just broken a 60 controller for 30 mins of frustration and rage.
E) Pull your cord, or QUIT. Then jump on another GT / PSN ID, find the guy, get revenge, or get owned, Repeat.
F) Go Practice.
G) Learn The Game.
H) Become good.

Did ya kick my ass?
I will outro this thread by saying this, if people online bother you. You have a few options.
A) Set down the controller and realize if you fail at this game, you will fail at life.
B) Piss and moan, find a snot rag and a roll of toilet paper to wipe away the tears.
C) Run to your parents and tell them, some guy is doing something to you the offline A.I. wouldn't.

The being riled is b/c I think it is hard to fathom how two individuals could have two so totally different outlooks on MK. I don't play for money or notoriety so why is it so god dang important to beat me? Did I do someting to your mom that makes you come at me that way? I

You're conflating two different things again. Someone who pulls because he's about to lose is a little bitch (which gives you the win anyway so it doesn't even matter). But someone who uses the tools he's given within the rules of the game is just playing smart. And why do you keep avoiding my main point that if a game really does allow for that much cheese then it's just a shitty game and you shouldn't bother playing it at all?
As for me beating you (which as far as I know hasn't even happened since I don't think we've ever played before), why do you think it's personal? If someone is trying to become the best he can be at a fighting game he's going to do his best to learn the ropes, what moves have the highest priority, what moves are too unsafe to be used in most situations, etc. If you think that someone who tries to beat you badly in a game is about something personal you're sorely mistaken. It's as "personal" as the player wanting to do the best he can in a match. The identity of his opponent doesn't even factor in.
Saying Pros don't spam is the biggest underestimation ever.
You see it across all fighters. Their are noobs who spam but get countered and whooped effectively. Then their are pros who spam, get countered only to counter back when they need the W. Anyone who denies that says a lot about themselves.
Smash Bros is probably the most innovative fighter out there. 4 players, 2 on 2 action, free 4 all, weapons, etc.
Except people try to take the fun out of that game all the time and Sakurai already went on record saying he made Brawl to discourage the people looking to restrict the game to competitive play only. Time will tell if that changes with another game.
Only problem is Brawl's online is weak lag wise even in comparison to MK DC. Hell Mario Kart Wii has a better online than Nintendo's gem in Brawl.

Now I'm not saying he should have left wavedashing in or anything. Wavedashing is by definition a glitch. If he felt that it didn't belong in the game then, fine, take it out. But sometimes glitches work to a game's advantage by pure accident. If Brawl is what Sakurai wanted then great, he made the game he wanted to make. But his thought process doesn't make sense because what led him to make Brawl what it is was his desire to cripple so-called "experts" which he really didn't do.
He created a great series of fighters IMO. If they weren't great. Nobody would play them or give them the praise that they do.
If anything, right now Sakurai is light years ahead of a guy like Ed Boon or Capcom because at least all 3 fighters (64, Melee and Brawl) play different than the other.
Whereas in Street Fighter and MK. You have a good 3-5 titles that play exactly the same and are similar down the core with the exception of rosters and speed (SF).

You seem experienced in these methods, A, B, C or D Happen a lot?
None of the above, excluding F, G, H. Seen it plenty though in MKA days, when scrubby KAK users would get mad and quit/pull/talk trash. Making clone ID's became quite the trend.

...then I looked, and he is the number one player on all of Xbox Live PERIOD. I don't understand why the game paired me up against him, but it happened.

I don't know if I'd say "fun" or "not fun" is the proper term. The reason is this: Have you ever seen high level play in any fighting game? In general, it's pretty boring. Look up high level Super Street Fighter II Turbo matches. If you see a high level Sagat player you'll notice all you see are Tiger Shots being thrown out. It's a little more involved than that but on the surface all you see is projectile spamming from him.
I play high level smash, but that's not exactly a proper fighter. I've seen high level tekken games, but then again you can't spam projectiles in that game. So I guess I've never seen a high level fighter with spammable projectiles before =\
Welcome to one of the best SFIII: Third Strike matches:

Btw, isn't my "epic match style", but the timing is priceless...
