You guys are overreacting on the whole breast thing, it's breast big deal.
Nobody is complaining that the guys shirts are off or that Voldo's ass is always showing.

My only complaints are taki's look hasent really changed at all, I don't like astaroth rock kinda look, cassandra looks the same and setsuka's costume is basically the same.

Once you look past the mammaries, you'll discover that alot of these women's outfits are well-designed.

I don't think they are. In fact, some of the male characters have poor costume designs. The designers are using color as a trojan horse to make it seem all creative when in reality it's just a pick and mix day at the local tie-dye market.

Undefinable articles of clothing (Maxi's belt-like things) or absurd choices for dress (Asholette's wire fencing) just screams randomness to me highly reminiscent of Testuya Nomura's infatuation with belts that don't hold anything up and zippers that don't seem to close anything. The clean looking and cohesive designs are the best ones. Raphael, Amy, Taki, Hong Yunsung. The monsters like Nightmare aren't so bad since they're supposed to be wild looking, I guess.

I mean, it's not enough that they're in poor taste (most of them), but they added the ridiculous 3D-MK jiggle effects (pop in DA and pick Li Mei, you'll see what I mean), as if it wasn't enough for them to say "hey, we're jacking off as we're making this game" with the character models. Please. Give me realism any day, it's why I fight primarily as the male characters in these games (my only female main in SC3 was Tira).

I do find it funny how DOA seems almost prudish compared to this.

The debate is kind of controversial, I mean, are the breasts EXTREMELY overexaggerated? Yes. But do gamers always go for reality? no, otherwise we should also be debating and petitioning for age spots and acne.

how ever some of the girls are really nasty as fuck, like honestly, when ever I look at Taki, I get sick to my stomach, especially since I like her a lot. Ivy also makes me sick, like a crack-whore with pale skin, and Setsuka's breasts are kind of a turn-off along with her complete style change. That's why I'm so upset about Setsuka, the fact that my favorite character is like a whole new woman... with a New York-style boob job.

Taki has got to be the worst with the tits, I mean it's like.... one is enough for you.

It seems to me that Maxi, Cassandra, Sophitia, Xianghua, Talim, and many others did not receive a drastic change, which is a good thing. See, this is why it's good to have multiple costumes like DOA. If Say, Setsuka had this new design as a primary or third costume.

If any of you guys have seen the attempt to make it look like Yuj-Sung has a muscular back, you've probably laughed yourself into a coma as well as I. He looked like Jack-5 from Tekken. lmao. Namco needs to understand the limits of the human body.

WAIT, that reminds me, I totally forgot Kilik
lol.
But I'm really upset about his new design as well, it's simply... not his style.

I also dislike how they're using the same weapons, swords or a staff like weapon... I mean... change it up, I'd use a Sai character.

To avoid being a negative Nancy, I'm be a positive Pythagoras: Tira doesn't look too bad compared to other characters, Zasalamel looks like a beast, Cervantes is a G, Lizard man is an O.G., Amy's outfit is cute as hell, and Ashlotte's whole Victorian Glass Doll is a really cool idea, I'm feelin this one.

^ Well, from what I understand SCIV has a character costumization feature similar to what's in Virtua Fighter and Tekken so I think you can tailor the characters more towards your fancy.

I think it's got that feature...I'm not 100% sure though.

What the hell have they done to Seong Mi-na? They made her look almost like some of the other trashy female characters and she was one of my favs to play. At least Hilde has a good design. Her fighting style is pretty unique too. I'll be using here if I get the game.

I'm pretty sure that was to create whole new characters. I hope that's the case tho, so I can dye Sets' hair black XD

Soul Calibur III was glitchy suckage. So, honestly, I'm not even sure about that as we know next to nothing about the actual game's engine.

I think it's really just a game now. Someone at Namco played Dead Or Alive and said "I can beat that!"

It's kind of like how back in the 90s there was this race to create the most violent game possible, now it's a race to create the most absurd female character designs imaginable.

Frankly, I don't care about whether or not they can realistically fight in those costumes. I doubt even a number of the men in the game could fight in what they're wearing. I don't even care about the misogynistic overtones. It's been around since the days of Chun-Li. Virtua Fighter is probably the only fighting game that doesn't go out of it's way to flaunt the sex appeal of it's female fighters and even that's starting to change a bit.

You know what bothers me? That there's no genuine creativity here. It doesn't take an artistic genius to draw a poorly matched mishmash of oddly colored costume pieces, inflate the boobs so they look like they're filled with helium, all the while using the same basic body type and facial structure for every female character, and call it a new and improved design.

I honestly think Hilde is a subtle in-joke as a way of saying "Yeah, which one doesn't belong." Think about it for a second. Look at Ivy. She'd, ironically enough, come off as less sleazy if she were just topless. It seems like the guys at Namco realize this and as they design a new character they have a little "LOL" in their heads.

Personally,I think the costumes looks great in every game, and that Namco uses alot of creativity when creating the concepts.

The only character that I can think of with "odd" colors would be Yoshimitsu, but he looks odd in every game that he appears in.Do you understand where I'm coming from?

You have to remeber that it's a game. Most games, aren't realistic...so I see no reason for your ranting/complaining?It's almost absurd from a certain point of view, but you will have your opinions,as will I.

Very nice indeed lol

Personally, I really don't see the big deal...for one, the Mileena MKD concept was WAYY more revealing then these are, as was her alternate(same costume just covered...barely lol)

But I don't mind seeing a hot costume SC girl, love the fact that they're going for that "no undies" look lol. Nahh, just kidding in all seriousness though some of these are a little skimpy....

But I don't think it's anything for anyone to go nuts about IMO

I mean, you don't see people going nuts over Zangief's costume only covering his "package"....or Vega's skin tight spandex...because I really honestly believe most gamers don't care lol.

Speaking as how most fighting fans are guys, I don't think it's a big deal they'll go ga, ga over it for a minute then forget about it. Otherwise, they're in real need of a GF lol. I mean, I love MK, love girls but I won't be wacking off to Kitana every time I'm horny lol

Ok, where's Vader now? Even though I'm not too fond of SW, the most badass character isn't even on here? : (He actually looks more badass in this game. Wonder how he'll sound.

Apparently (I say apparently because I haven't played it) Soul Calibur 3: Arcade Edtion was pretty good and did fix a lot of those bugs from Soul Calibur 3. Soul Calibur 4 is apparently built upon from SC3:AE and has more of a Soul cAlibur 2 feel.

So fingers crossed etc.

So in other words, you'll defend a broken game to the death regardless of upside down fighting, a guard impact system much more screwed up than the one in Soul Calibur II, and other issues sprinkled throughout the game. Gotcha. That reminds me of back when MK:D came out and people were excusing the magic "flying" you could do by mashing the style change button by saying "all games have glitches." Which, btw, is not entirely true. Nor are all glitches created equal. I've yet to see something as screwed up as upside down fighting in most other games.
