Nobody around here bashes Rock like people bash Hip Hop. And with that said, what you dudes can't wrap your mind around, is if someone were to start bashing Rock music, I would defend that culture//genre//WAY OF LIFE in the same way I do Rap.
It just doesn't happen like that. So all you're gonna meet, for as long as YOU know I'm right here....is education. Especially because Rap is bigger than Rock right now.
We generate more money world-wide. We exploit more avenues than Rock ever has. We influence more people now, than ever in history. But that's just subtle facts for you man.

However, you need to pay attention to why it's there in the first place, in order to form an opinion like you just did. "New Orleans" is not a different situation from any other "hood". That's just the obvious one since hurricane Katrina....So investigate that one first, and you might learn the "why" to a few things that is in our music. (like you would try anyway)
