Wow. Do nothing, get credit. He's like God.

Except Obama exists, I suppose.

Say what you will about his presidency, but Bezou is right. Obama didn't pull the trigger. Why are we praising him for it? Don't start with your defensive bullshit, I'm not accusing Obama of anything. I'm just curious as to why so many Americans think the president is omnipotent.

Ask yourself why so many think he's a communist and you'll have the answer: misinformation and in some cases, stupidity.

No, Republicans stick to their guns, regardless of whether or not people like them. They're always going to be pro-life, they're always going to favor big business, and they're always going to be against gay marriage.

Penn Jillette just tweeted something that I feel is extremely relevant to all the celebration at the death of a terrorist leader:

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

That seems a bit closed-minded.

Do you really think every Republican is pro-life, pro-business, and anti-gay marriage? Please....

In most cases, pro-business is a given. But I know Republicans that are pro-choice and pro-gay marriage...

I think being a Republican just to be a Republican is a bit closed minded. The same goes for Democrats, and any other party for that matter. Form an opinion based on what YOU think is right or wrong. The argument of "All *insert political party here* are stupid because they don't like what I like!" is really getting us nowhere. I may be asking too much for our country's residents to suddenly educate themselves, but I think we would be getting along much better if people didn't strap an elephant/donkey flag to their dick and forget to clean the cloth every now and then. We are lacking in an individual thought process, and that may just be the cliff that the lemmings keep falling down.

It's really sad that we just "kill" people. Someone like him deserves to be tortured for as long as possible.

No wonder no one fears our justice system. They either put you in a room or force you into the afterlife.

So pathetic. He ruined so many lives and all he gets is a quick, virtually painless death. Yeah, that'll scare future terrorists and serial killers. Fear the USA.

Glad he's dead but they should have at least hung him. Make him suffer a little, at least.

sheesh, im glad he's dead n all, but that's....a little extreme. you been playing mk a little too much perhaps?
it's things like that which make people think we shouldnt play violent video games. a mortal kombat fan saying that on the mortal kombat forum will really put us in a bad light.

anyway, is bin laden being killed REALLY that big a deal? presumably al-quaeda have others who will lead instead of him?

Just to be clear, I'm speaking strictly about the the Republicans that make up Congress and Governors. I wouldn't dare make that type of assumption about the entire GOP voting base.

With that out of the way, pretty much all of what you said could be flipped around for leftist tastes: Substitute pro-life and all that other jazz with {Insert Progressive Wedge Issue} and I pretty much have what ever the hell you're trying to say, but with a progressive slant, so I really don't get what you're trying to get across. If you're speaking about Democrats in general, then that's just stupid. However, if you're talking about the elected Dems, then you might have something to talk about, but the GOP members of the house and senate are just as big of shills as the Dems, so you still have no argument other than fuzzy generalizations. This whole calling-people's-support-for-the-troops-into-question shtick is just really, really trite.

If a football team wins the superbowl, the coach gets credit for calling the plays. Same principal a play here.

Barack Obama is the Commander in Chief.... the leader of the US Armed Forces.

So....

He gets credit for giving the order. That's a very simplified way to look at it but, all he needs to do at the end of the day is lead. Typical chain of command stuff. The leader, and specific individuals get the recognition.

Bin Laden 'aint dead until I see pics of the corpse and a long form death certificate.

but in all seriousness Democratic voters are doomed to forever be disappointed and republican voters are either rich, uninformed or stupid. I would assume the statistics to be something like this:

1% rich people
80% misinformed people
19% morons

Again, he made the progress that he could on Guantanamo Bay. The fact that it was a messy clean-up doesn't necessarily make him a useless leader. He made the progress.

The unit that performed the operation were ordered to kill, not to capture.

When was that announced?

I wouldn't have appointed CEO of GE Jeffrey-fucking-Immelt to the chairmanship Council on Jobs and Competitiveness for one. I wouldn't have "compromised" with Republicans by cutting the payroll tax (effectively gimping Social Security) and extending the Bush tax cuts for a measly unemployment extension which should have been implemented regardless. I wouldn't have only left it to Bernie Sanders and Carl Levin to call the Banking industry out on their large scale fraud that totaled the fucking world's economy. He's been plenty useful, but for all the wrong people.

The list goes on.

And just so you know, I'm not mad at you personally or anything.

Edit: But fuckin' lol at this:

Fuck it, if Reagen gets to be the guy responsible for the fall of the USSR, then Obama personally killed Osama with a Shoryuken to the chin. It's only fair.
i hope the navy said this before putting a bullet in osamas head

And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee.
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti.

Obama might be the head of our military but he really didn't do shit except Give the ok to kill Osama. A football coach actually calls and makes plays. If we should make a football comparison he should be the Owner and not the coach. He had a military leader under him that truly made the call to go into the compound and kill Al Queida. They didn't even think Osama was gonna be there. All I was saying is that if a president was to receive credit it should be Bush. Bush didn't pull out when the majority was calling him to make that move. That goes for Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama just kept the war on terrorism moving in which I believe he did the right thing and deserves only a small amount of credit. But I can't let some people on here talk as if Obama did it all. I voted for the guy but I now see through all his Bullshit. It irritates me that a lot of other Americans can't do the same.

I heard it on CBS news right after the Price is Right. They were just announcing more about the speech and how this all happened and basically just said, not in these direct words, "The special unit were given precise orders to go and kill Oasma Bin Laden."
