"Everyone" is an exaggeration. I was never one of the people who called Liu boring.
Also, I've been wanting to say this since the cast photo came out:
There is WAY too much spiky-hair-and-beard going on this season, what is up with that? I literally cannot tell the difference between Stryker, Johnny Cage, and Raiden sometimes.

hmmmm,
I'm all for Liu Kang's new attitude.

Looking forward to seeing Kenshi's 'QUANTUM POWER' ; )
even Ermac's ugly face...

Nice to see Rico taking a break from killing bugs to help out that guy they're trying to pass off as Raiden...

I had no idea Ol' Iceboy was a Fan of TRON legacy...either that, or he likes 'Extreme Paintball'

'Get over here' must run in Hanzo's family...

Mileena FINALLY went to a Dentist and got those teeth fixed...they look GOOD!

Kung Lao is bald, but I guess that would be accurate, he IS a monk...perhaps they mixed traits of past and present Lao...?

Ol' Shang is back!! ...and looks the part this time.

Can't tell how good the action and fighting will be yet...too much special effects being shown to tell...ehh, well, except with Kang, he was beating the shit outta people.
which reminds me, Stryker...I don't see that guy lasting the night...

Overall, I kinda want to see this Krap Fest

Tancharoen needed to compensate for the lack of Kano this season

Uhmm because it's realistic? duh....

I could be negative about this. The stuff I dislike outweighs what I like. Maybe I'm letting my opinion of the first season get in the way. It looks better than the first season did. Kenshi and Kung Lao look badass. Tagawa is legendary and easily the best part of all of this.

Must say Sub-Zero looks terrible. That's seriously Annihilation-tier stuff. Modern Sub-Zero is totally fine by me, but it's very poorly executed.

That is all.

I am really actually curious if we see Bo Rai Cho mentioned somewhere, and maybe it is something that happened to him that might cause Liu to switch sides. And this drinking reminds me of his master.

And I really wanna know what the fuck Stryker is doing there,I mean,in Season 1 he was hunting down Black Dragons and Kano with Jax and Sonya, but since both Sonya and Jax were injured and Kano is not on the island, what's the reason for Stryker to be there? Maybe he is investigating Cyber Initiative deal between Dragons and Lin Kuei,so he is collecting Intel on Sub-Zero maybe? Any thoughts?

Man, now that I've taken a closer look at Sub-Zero... Tsk... I don't like what I'm seeing. Sorry Subby!

When I see Ermac's face I think of Quan Chi.

I Wish the hottest Mortal Kombat news (such as this) would stay featured on the MKO homepage for longer periods of time. It's disheartening to see these top stories pushed down by the more frequent and insignificant Injustice news. I've probably clicked on two DC Injustice stories in total. MortalKombatOnline is my #1 source for MK news and it's kinda sad to see another game series take over like this.

I think Stryker is there as Jax and Sonya were unavailable for the series..
Nice little nod by Kevin to the fact that Stryker was in MK1 until they decided to include a female fighter.

Remember too, there were more humans than just the 7 who took part in the first tournament :)

As for Ermac, it's growing on me.. looking at a lot of Ermac artwork, pretty sure Ed Boon has that as his face beneath all the tape and bandages.. maybe Kevin thought that a collection of souls wouldn't go into all the looks of it.

Sub Zero is growing on me too.. looks a lot like a transition costume.. something in between his MK2011 primary (the vest) and the Cyber-SubZero costume

I'm excited for everything except for the new Liu Kang. He just seems out of character, this is the guy that wasn't given a fatality in the first game. I feel Kung Lao fits more of this renegade monk character, but later matures as a warrior throughout the series. Kang is supposed to be the inspiring and altruistic hero of Earthrealm, so I really hope he doesn't kill anyone (Stryker) during his time on the Dark side.

But I don't want to sound negative on the whole thing, I'm still pumped to watch this season. What I'm really excited for is the character developments of and between Scorpion and the younger Sub-Zero. I'm surprised not to see Sektor and Quan Chi in the trailer though.

It seems they pretty much reversed Kung Lao and Liu Kang's roles, and I really like that for some reason. It makes both characters feel fresh.

I really did not care for the first season too much. But now with a bigger budget I can see its coming around. I like the direction of Subbys outfit but its has way too much plastic and that's why people hate it. The rivalry and friendship of scorpion and sub zero starting at childhood is a nice touch. Could have brought the clans together if not for Tsung and Quan Chi. Which brings me to the question! Where is Quan Chi? And where is Nightwolf? I'd rather see Nightwolf than Stryker

If you're gonna reference that old bit of story from the original MK1 and 2, you also have to remember the game said everyone who was at the first tournament besides the main 7 died.

First things first, I am actually surprised, that news about MKL2 trailer is not on the main page of the site. I don't want to sound negative, but MKO is the site about MK series, not every single NRS project. I don't have anything against Injustice, I just want to say, that MK stuff should be given top priority over everything else. But, that's just me.

Second, the trailer looks nice. It's already obvious that they have more resources for MKL2, rather than for the first season. I like that they showcased a lot of special effects in the trailer - that should put a sock into mouths of people who were adamant that this series will have next to nothing in a way of magic and will be a lot like MKR.

As for characters and story - it looks interesting, intruguing and fresh. It's not a secret, that I am all for the new interpretations and reimaginings as long as people behind them make them work. I especially like the presence of Stryker and "dark" Liu Kang. Stryker is a dark horse of the Earth ressistance (and for good reason), but after MK9 I think his character was completely reemed and now, deserved some place in a limelight. Even if it mean, that some of the other characters will take a seat.

Dark Liu is an interesting development. Not that I completely dislike old "goody-goody two shoes / designated hero" Liu. Especially after MK9 managed to show that it is entirely possible to keep Liu as good guy and main hope of the Earthrealm without turning him into function instead of proper character. Neverthless, I appreciate new approach to the Kang and want to see how it will be executed in the series and what kind of resolution it will have.

Scorpion and Sub-Zero being childhood friends...well, this is interesting idea. Much more plausible then other certain "unexpected relationship" that was courtesy of MKAn / MKvsDC. Though, I hope it will not be overplayed.

The only thing that rise my brow is an Ermac's design. He looks...strange and certainly not very Ermac-like. I am not sure why, but I withhold my opinion on a character until I watch the series.

Ermac is the Penguin from Batman Returns on an Atkins diet mixed with the Crow. Sub-Zero: the head looks off with that mask. Liu Kang is the Iori Yagami of MK? Zen Jesus Raiden is awesome.

Ok, this is wwaaayyy too funny to skip out on...

I may have said his costume had gotten boring (because it fuckin' had, he wore the same pants for like 6 games in a row lol), but I always defended his character.

XiahouDun never liked him though, yeah. Mostly because he was a Kitana fan who for some reason thought that making her a love interest diminished her own importance. Personally, I tended to think that doesn't make sense since being the male lead's girlfriend automatically makes a character the female lead.

No, it doesn't. Though it is not the prevalent case.

Also, awesome mask on Scorpion. Zero insectman design.

Anyone finds a resemblance between these two images ,or is it just me?:

Also, while I was taking screenshots of the trailer (especially looking for hints in fast motion scenes) I gotta say this, I'm not happy seeing Johnny getting his ass kicked (twice):

https://www.dropbox.com/s/urgxwye9mbj2esi/18.png (lying on the tree)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0nonw1nq932pwbs/62.png (on the ground)

At least it seems that cage made it out of the Mileena fight, seeing as he tweeted something like this:

Kenshi's sword design is rather interesting:

Finally, gotta love Ermac's "dafuq" face grin

https://www.dropbox.com/s/3423ws53zafki0t/50.png

Sorry if it isn't allowed to link many images, this is my first post here, I'm just too excited for what Legacy 2 has in store for us (besides paintball equipment lol).

PD: If anyone is interested in downloading more uncompressed screenshots and without the machinima logo, I can give you the link to the album. There are 65 pictures, including fast motion scenes.

Liu Kang is evil?

Is it just me or am I the only one who remembers the rebellious behavior Liu Kang exhibits in the first MK movie? I would even go as far as to say that he was fed up with the monks...and the idea of Raiden. He wore a black leather jacket (usually indicative of a badass...or a bad guy in some cases), he had a bad attitude, he was bitter, and he didn't really believe in anything the good guys were about throughout a good chunk of the beginning of that movie. Almost the first whole hour of that film, I think...

This just looks like a revitalized version of that. A more visceral interpretation. Same thing, just modernized. He probably will come off seeming like a bad guy at first, if revitalizing is what they're doing.

I have NO complaints about this trailer what so ever. Kitana looks awesome, and after having her appear to get weaker and weaker in both personality and story in the games, it's SO refreshing to know that the bad-assness she possessed in MK2 will be utilized in Legacy. As for Ermac, to me it actually makes sense that he looks rather zombie like considering he is made up of countless dead warrior souls. And finally Liu Kang, him being an anti-hero is exactly what the character needs in my opinion. It adds more depth to him and his development that he'd start off not wanting anything to do with saving earth-realm, to becoming its savior.

Here's a GIF I created of my two favorites. Kitana/Mileena!

I'm excited for Stryker VS Evil Liu Kang but also worried as it looks like Stryker might die, it shows an explosion and I'm wondering if that's a result of Stryker's grenades? that fight looks pretty violent, Liu Kang is out of order! hoping Stryker has some tricks up his sleeves to get out of that one..

I liked Ryan Robbins as Raiden, this new guy looks really weak and more like a hippy than a thunder god :/

Kitana looks good

I can see Casper pulling off a good Johnny Cage

Kenshi looks awesome!

I hope Sonya, Kano and Quan Chi return for the movie

and I'm hoping for some Kabal action in the movie...

I very much agree with this.

And I feel that's a pretty good route to take for Liu Kang. We already have the devoted monk, Kung Lao. Liu Kang can be the other side of that coin. He doesn't have to be pure of heart to be a good guy. Let him have an attitude.
