Actually, I think it has to be another character reveal. MVC3 came out this week, so they have to steal their thunder in a big way. Noob is cool and stuff, but he's not enough by himself to keep people distracted from that game.

My money is on smoke, since he's probably the only one who can accomplish that.

Keeps our attention occupied while that game is released. They could make the core MK fanbase almost totally miss the hype surrounding that game. We'd feel it because we already are but, intense story information from MK would cool the fire down from over there. Just a thought.

Or, they could do something weird like Styker + Kano + tease at Shang Tsung or Raiden. I don't think Rain or Smoke will come for at least another week (heh... I read like a news forecaster right there. lol)

Look at the stickied' Gameplay Discussion thread' the last page. He says he cant reveal much until the time has come, but for us to be 'VERY hopeful for this game' and that its going to be an 'exciting week for the MKCommunity'

He was known along time ago as one of the better MK2 players and has recently competed in a few MK vs. DC tournaments as well. Anyway, if he has been able to play the game at least that's a sign of a good things from NRS.

A Story Mode trailer or teaser will definately create some excitement. They could show glimpses of fights, dialogue, and perhaps 2-3 breif cutscenes. This could be a smart move on their part.

Or if it isn't Story Mode, maybe they can start revealing some of their other game modes like the Challange Tower or even a short look at Arcade Mode? I remember Ed tweeting that 'it's about time to show some of our other cool game modes!'. Perhaps it's about that time now.




I didn't even know who he was until I started reading other people's comments when he posted in that thread. Apperantly he's the best MKII player in the world and such. He definately is living the life if working with NRS.

I do believe he's always been fairly notable in the competitive MK community. That's why it's good news if they hired him to playtest the game or something of that nature, because that would mean a high level MK player HAS played the game and judging from what he wrote in that thread, it's looking quite promising.

I'm now starting to wander if they're saving both Motoro and Shang Tsung with his morphing for last as a return to 2D suprise(s), or we would've already seen them already.

I'd like to see a shokan video, which will show the difference between Goro, Sheeva, and Kintaro's gameplay/moves; ending with Sheeva's newer version of her skin-rip in 3D I can only imagine it's slower/sicker with tendons pulling back/ripping!!! I'm also wandering what other fatality Sheeva will have since her other MK3 one's been semi-passed around (Superman, Shao Khan, and now Jax).

Too bad the red girl is one of the most generic designs the game has ever seen. Far from "really sweet".

When Check approached NRS for a job via Twitter he was just directed to Warner Bros.' general recruitment web page, like everyone else.

In fact Check isn't in anything at the moment having thrown another one of his childish tantrums and stated (yet again) he is leaving the community for good.

The only reason he's back posting on here is because of his latest hissy fit on TYM (link).

His comment about this being a big week is a copy and paste from the official Twitter where they stated that last week. Much as he'd like people to think of him as someone important.....he isn't.

Regardless, I wouldn't expect a huge video update today, if we get one then fantastic, if not, oh well. Liu Kang's combo video is the most likely to appear, though I'd like to be surprised with something else today and have that for tomorrow.

Not NRS material? I think that's just the kind of immaturity they're looking for on their creative team. He seems like the guy who could think up a really great fart/puke/poopy/peepee fatality.

Exactly the reason they shouldn't hire him. The team already have enough of people with a sense of humour like that. :P
