ITT: Taking one of Ed's dumb jokes too seriously.

His healthbar not saying Saibot is a problem, though. Even the announcer says "Noob Saibot wins", not "Noob wins." That shit needs to match. Doesn't Sonya's healthbar even say "Sonya Blade" now? Why is Noob suddenly the only character whose last name ISN'T on their healthbar? That's a mistake.

If you want something done right...spam the shit out of it on Twitter.

I thought it was because John Tobias left years ago and they legally can't use his name? I'm probably wrong though.... I dunno. Anyway, I don't find it THAT important to the game... I don't stare at the names on the life bar when playing.

When I heard about what was said on twitter, I immediately thought it was a joke....but now since I've seen the interview, I don't think he's joking! I agree, he should be a shadow clone and nothing more. But hey...

Tobias does not own the word "Saibot". And the full "Noob Saibot" name been said in story modes, endings, concept art, etc. in every single game since JT left. It just wasn't in the healthbar in Deception because Smoke was and it wasn't in Armageddon because they lazily cut and pasted from Deception.

THIS game, there's no fucking excuse. The announcer says "Noob Saibot wins", you can hear it in the reveal video. The healthbar needs to match the announcer and have the character's full name like it does for everybody else.

In future news, Quan Chi's name in the lifebar will just be "Quan", Nightwolf will be "Night", Kung Lao will just be "Kung", Shao Kahn is just "Shao", and Sub-Zero will just be "Sub".

... yeah, it's a little detail, but Noob Saibot is Noob Saibot, collectively.

There is a MASSIVE difference, and he just doesn't seem complete without the second half of his identity.

That's Boon's little joke about the "shadow" mechanic. Noob Saibot doesn't have split personalities. I seriously doubt in story mode, that Saibot will betray Noob in his quest to be Sub Zero's step brother.

I say again, it's just one of Boon's stupid jokes. I will agree that it's stupid that his entire name isn't in the health bar, but I can live with it.

Boon said "I like to call him Noob and the other one Saibot" or something along those lines in the gamespot interview... so it seems more like a joke than a statement... I wouldn't read too much into it...
I wonder if his fatality will involve his shadow clone though...

Actually the top picture is the collective MK community raging over stupid shit. And I get it. Hearing the voice say "Noob Saibot" and seeing "Noob" is a small cosmetic disconnect, but honestly...

I would have preferred Noob Saibot to have his full name in the health bar as well. And what's up with his clone glowing purple? Most notably in his winning stance. It has visible features now too. I liked when it was just black.

Even if this is just a joke, I like the idea of the Saibot persona corrupting Bi-Han soul, but really I would accept any version.

By the way, I would like too to see the word Saibot on the name bar.

Really? The name in the bar? You're FURIOUS about this? I'm usually pretty understanding about people having issues with things in MK games because we are all fans and all have our favorite characters.... but let's list off some of the things about Noob Saibot that you got here.

1. He looks badass, in my opinion, one of the best looking character designs in the game.

2. His gameplay looks terrific. He looks like a great character to play.

3. They are probably really going to flesh out his story as they seem to be taking story very seriously this time around.

4. He started off as a secret character, with no real story or anything and he's evolved into this, one of the most popular and presumably playable characters in the game with a great story.

5. "I like to kind of think about him as Noob and the clone as Saibot" does not mean that's the case. When making a game you need to be able to refer to certain aspects of characters and their design. It was probably something they did so they didn't have to say "Noob's clone" all the time in order to specify changes objectives for the character.

I think it could be a lot worse. You could be a Rain fan who is going to have to pay more than everyone else to play as their favorite character. If there is ONE thing they could still fix, it would be the name. Even if they don't. I'm sure you're still going to love the character. He's come a lot further than Reptile, who's been virtually ruined on more than one occasion.

It sucks that you're upset, but unless they refer to the clone as Saibot in the story... (and if they do... while I still don't think that's the end of the world.... I still apologize for my post if that's the case) then I think you're looking way too into this.

I'm sure Boon had no idea he would have to answer for THIS comment... I hope he doesn't get pissed that I didn't call him Ed Boon...

Shut up already, Noob Saibot has turned into one of the best changes of all time in this game, repect that already! How can you wish for even more if they already have done so much to change him in the positive.

This game opens alot of creative doors. With characters getting overhauls, Im sure they thought about Noob Long and Hard.

Im not up to date on my Noob Canon, I dont recall EXACTLY what happened in the Netherrealm. But I believe whatever the dark pressence is came from another source correct? It existed before Bi-Hans evil descent into the Netherrealm diddnt it? Sorry if im wrong

Assuming im right, they could call that entity "Saibot". So Bi-Han was transformed, although the overall control of ambition is unknown as to who decides priority. Saibot Shadows Bi-Han (now Noob) everywhere.

Sonya's bar has her full name for the first time. And in the old day's Johnny's only said "Cage". Maybe they will change it, maybe not.

Good thing is that the announcer says the name in full.

If Sonya's health bar indeed says Sonya Blade, and if Cage's health bar indeed says Johnny Cage, then yes, Noob's health bar should indeed say Noob Saibot.

It's the little things, the small details, that would make the game perfect. This topic is on the same shelf as the Kitana/Sindel hair animation discussion and Jade's skin colour... Tiny details that are somewhat irrelevant to others, but matters to those who care about the tiny details.
