I'm just trying to get an idea of what characters we'd like to see as DLC as a community. I'm also serious about having the chart sent to Boon and company. So if you haven't voted, take the time to do so whenever you have the opportunity. I have a little more than 90 voters logged with 440 votes, and I know this community is much larger than that.

I hope my little side project isn't intruding on your thread, Baraka407. Let me know.

Personally though...I don't think we will see DLC characters for awhile. I think they will release the current and any announced exclusive DLC first. Like the retro costumes,classic fatalities and maybe stuff like access passes for unlocks or even console avatars/themes and dynamic wallpapers. Even if it is all this,I hope we have some DLC at launch besides the exclusives.

If you're serious about sending the chart to NRS, you need to trim the fat from it.

Leaving characters that either don't exist or are from other franchises like Akuma, "Hanzo" (what would that even be, Scorpion with no special moves?), "Mehrunes Dagon" (what is this I don't even), "Poseidon", "Reaver", and Voldemort on there takes away from the seriousness of the effort. You've got "New Character" on there already, that general category should cover these non-existent names like "Reaver" too.

I'd also wait until the actual game comes out, because if, just for example, Human Cyrax or Kintaro is already unlockable in the game at release, then he doesn't need to be on the list, does he?

Definitely. Characters from other franchises have already been added to the "new character" column. That clears out a good amount of the single vote non-MK characters.

I just wanted to get a head start on the effort, because I figure it's going to take quite a while before the majority of the community places their votes. I'm not going to send anything until there are a significant number of votes. Ultimately it all depends on when NRS becomes open to DLC ideas, but I'm planning on sending a finalized chart sometime in May.

That said, I'm not even sure I should be the community's representative. It might appear more professional if a veteran user of MKO, one that maintains communication with NRS via Twitter or whatever, provides the chart. We'll see when the time comes.

Happy to see someone doing this. I did something similar a few yrs back but I never delivered it like I intended. Can't remember if that was pre-MKA or pre-MKvsDC. -- Also, what about human Smoke? Or is that inferred with the dash?

5. Bo' Rai Cho — Without his puke puddles, or any humorous moves. I just always thought he had a great story and personality.

4. Shinnok — With his own, original moves, and a new design.

3. Kai — I loved the concept drawing of him for "MK:DA," and I need to see his handstand move brought back!

2. Reiko — He had the coolest redesign for "MK:A" in my opinion; he also had a great moveset.

1. Tanya — Because she's fuckin' awesome! And I'd love to have all four female ninjas (minus Khameleon) in the game. And I love her story, and I am curious what side she'd be on in the new game.

Apparently it's necessary to bump this thread up the board a bit, since someone just made another with the exact same "top 5" idea and people are still posting in it even after I pointed out this one already exists.

I really don't want too many DLC characters. If you start putting in people like Reiko, Fujin, Tanya, Shinnok, etc, you dig into the plot of MK4 too much, which could diminish the possible storylines for the sequel to this game.

If you put in too many characters, you have nothing new to add into the following games. Keep it simple, do other DLC. No DLC that aren't already in the game as unplayable characters (what I was hoping for relating Goro and Shao Kahn).

bo rai cho: he trained liu kang.
havik: he wasnt around during the first 3 games but he is awesome.
rain: he's an edenian demigod part of umk3 story.
shinnok: part of mk4 story and mythologies story.
robot smoke: has a better story than human smoke.

Originally, I counted any vote that mentioned Cyber-Smoke or Smoke to imply the version of the character that's not available in the game. I've changed the label to "Smoke" to reflect that.

Pretty cool. Rain, Kenshi, Fujin, Tanya, and Sareena would actually be great choices It fits perfectly. When will you send this?

And people say Rain isn't popular.
Him, Kenshi and Sareena are my most wanted, so I hope they consider them!
