I think that the advantage to Raiden rewriting history is that you could probably have any character show up as DLC and have them be canon if you explain their story and how/why they were drawn in at this point in time.
Granted, some would be much easier (Bo Rai Cho for instance) than others (Shinnok's background seems to be VERY convoluted so bringing him in to the canon in a different point in time might require a few logistical back flips).
On a side note, I see a lot of lists and that's great, but do any of you have any reasons for specific characters? Not saying everyone needs a ton of reasoning or even reasoning beyond liking a character. I'm just curious to know if there's any reason beyond that.

1. Rain (although I'm fairly confident he'll be in anyway, DLC wise I mean)
2. Havik (my favourite post MK3 character, next to Quan Chi)
3. Kenshi
4. Drahmin (seeing Drahmin in current Gen systems would be awesome. They could really detail the open flesh part of his character. His alternate could be meat.)
5. Cyber-Smoke

I would first want all the characters from the original trilogy who do NOT make the cut to the main roster to become DLC's. So this is my potential list:
1: Rain.
2: Smoke.
3: Sareena.
4: Skarlett. (or whatever the Lady in Red will be named)
5: Tanya.

I mainly have teams of three instead of 5. Hope that's alright. Mine have remained the same for a while now actually.
A - Team: "Good Guys"
1.)
- Fujin [strongest]
2.)
- Kenshi [stronger]
3.)
- Kai [strong]
B - Team: "Bad Guys"
4.)
- Quan Chi [strongest] if we know he's in, I'll change it.
5.)
- Sareena [stronger]
6.)
- Reiko [strong]
C - Team: "Pretty sure they're in already but, just to speak them up..."
7.) Smoke (Human/Ninja)
8.) Rain
9.) Motaro
D - Team: "Wishful Thinking"
10.) Art Lean (MK1 Movie)
11.) King Jerrod (Comics)
12.) Siang (Comics)
13.) Rayne (One of Raiden's "servants//assistants" from the comics)
14.) Master Bo (MK Conquest T.V. Show)
15.) Shaolin Monk (MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero)
That is all.

1. Rain
2. Kenshi, I guess more sword based since I think this takes place before he was taught telekinesis. Not sure
3. Fujin. Would love to see him with updated specials

He gained his telekinetic powers from his ancestor's sword, which he found prior to MK1. But either way he should be more sword based, it's a huge part of his character and it would make him stand out in a game without weapon styles.

From the start they should have just said "Meat = Drahmin". Because that's all Meat really was in MKA.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm a little fuzzy on my MKDA/MKD characters since I haven't played the games in years.

1. Rain - Guy just deserves to be in. Plus after seeing the direction they went with Noob I can't imagine how badass Rain would be
2. Kenshi - Play up the swordsman aspect with a lil telekinesis thrown in there and he'd be a top pick to play as for me. Plus we was my favorite character introduced outside of the trilogy
3. Tremor - Please don't flame lol he has so much potential and I don't wanna hear any bullshit about "there already being ground pound herp derp." There is so much more to rock based powers than freaking ground pound
4. Fujin - Pretty much same reason as Rain and Tremor in terms of how awesome his moves could be
5. Mavado - I always liked him. I know he wasn't very popular but he was cool and I think they could make him fit storywise without too much of a problem
P.S. Cyber-Smoke would have been number 1, but I still wholeheartedly stand by my opinion in which this should just be an alt for Human Smoke. The guy's powers are based on, well, smoke not gadgets. Therefore there is no reason why the same moves shouldn't be able to translate over both versions
