Awesome it's nice to finally have some sort of update on the next MK game.

Cool. At least that answers the questions and concerns about where they're taking this MK. Build upon the groundwork of MK/DC's gameplay(maybe leave freefall/klose kombat at the curb), amp up the story a bit, and this could be awesome.

Yeah, I never trust anything Ed Boon says. He's good at getting us fans hyped about the game, but there always glaring differences between what he said we'd receive and what we actually do.

I hope this doesn't make me sound pretentious, but I actually just came here to comment about how upset it makes me that Ed Boon types the way that he does.

I'd say it's more than a hint at an M rated MK. He also posted that there will be no superheroes. As for Ed Boon not being truthful this is not an interview, this is twitter. There's hardly any doubt that they really DID motion capture bloody fatalities. However of course we don't know what the game will turn out to be in the end but it's safe to assume WB would not toss out a game that has been in development for months.

What does "pushing for an m rating" mean? You will know when you make this shit if it is going to make an m rating or not. If you have done your job right in the first place there should be no question.

I don't care about "sick" fatalities as much as getting a well made game. But I'm probably in the minority in that area.

I remain hesitantly excited about this.

M-rated is good. Very good. Throw those spandex clad superhero junkies to the side and let them do hero stuff like saving people and stopping alien overlords. Let Mortal Kombat characters do what MK characters do: Kill stuff.

Though I appreciate Fatalities getting confirmation, I would feel much more comfortable if the fatalities were the LAST thing added and the vast majority of the time was spent instead on, you know, the game engine and actual combat.

I'm glad they're making the game, and I'm glad they are trying to push for an M-rated MK game. However, I'm not going to get my hypes up. I want to see what they can REALLY do with the next-gen technology. There is still quite a bit they have to do to get with the times. It should not have been until MK: Armageddon that they implement mechanics like parries and a ground game. That should have been done since MK: Deadly Alliance.

I've played a bit of MK vs. DC, and I admit that there are things about its gameplay that I was pleasantly surprised with. It wasn't even stuff that was all that big. Just the simple things like being able to jump straight up and to easily crouch down while using L2 + up/down to sidestep are things that I feel are in the right direction.

I would like to see the gameplay be a lot more intuitive by giving more options. I'm not simply talking about more moves but being able to do a move in different ways and to combine moves for different strategies.

Ultimately, there is so much they can do, and I'd love to see them do it. If this game is good enough, I'll definitely pick it up, but first I'd have to get my hands on either an X-Box 360 or PS3.

As already stated, I'm a little concerned that they're so emphatic about an M-rating. Just make the game solid, complex, and fun. If there are fatalities, great, but they're not the substance of greatness. They were never what made the series good.

And Boon, since you're still early in development and all, please keep the new character amount reasonable. MKDA and MKD had 7+ new characters. Just keep it to 3... MAYBE four. No more.

EDIT: My last line came off kind of caustic, so I omitted. Just take a note from SF4's inclusion of only a small few new characters. They were able to include more classics and focus more time on designing the newer additions.
