360 UK Mag gives MK vs DC Universe scathing preview! Awful just Awful
Recent European laws and regulations, really. As well as Europe's recent history of banned/banning games and advertisements.

All professional game reviewers are inherently stupid because they are born that way, and they all need to fall in a well and die. No exceptions. I mean if you're giving MKD an 8.8... that about wraps it up as far as your credibility is concerned. I'm not necessarily saying this game isn't unresponsive and clunky, beacause it probably is, but If I want opinions on a fighting game I'll ask people who know what they're talking about.
On that note I might go hunt down that SRK thread. Ironic that I have to go to a Street Fighter fansite for information on a Mortal Kombat game.

Nah, yesterday I bought dead space and the selves were full of violent games GTA4, silent hill homecoming, dark sector and all the mks that came out for ps2. I saw a kid around 15 that bought god of war 2 for ps2.

Keep in mind that this is the same magazine who unleashed a bawfest on Gears of War 2.

I prefer to judge for myself. I hate all these gaming reviews and articles, be it online or in magazines because I rarely see eye to eye with the writers. What one person may call the epitome of gaming epicness, I'd probably call a load of bollocks.

Reviews usually reflect the generall view of the game. If the reviewer thinks the game sucks, then most peopel will probably agree, unless it's some ridiculous review that makes no sense like half of gamespot's reviews. So yeah, I'm not really worried. This might be one of those crazy reviews

I'll play it and get my own census before I count on any review. They could think it's the shittiest game on earth, but you could love it. That's happened so many times. I mean, sure, I read reviews on games that I'm interested in, but it's never better than playing the thing yourself.
I've never felt the same with any reviewers p.o.v. after I actually touch the game. I think Xplay on G4TV gets close sometimes, but even they have their moments where they're waaay off from my personal taste.
So yea, w/e.

They might be on to something.
We know MK hasn't had good and balanced gameplay in centuries, so MK vs. DC might actually have the same problem.
Afterall, this is MIDWAY people! They're good at getting our hopes up.

They are talking about the gameplay being clunky and button mashing.
Thats not really something thats subjective... its pretty much either a button masher or its not, and as far as it being clunky, a 10 year old could tell you if its a smooth running game or not.
Whether or not the review actually exists is another story, but things like fluidity and whether or not its a button masher are pretty black and white.
Whether or not the character design is good, the art direction, style of music used, arena layout, etc is a lot more interpretive.
Gameplay videos look good as far as it looking smooth, but we all know how preview videos go.

Hi,
They said that in an age of such precision fighting like soul calibur, tekken, virtua fighter, there is really no excuse for this game.

Honestly, I really don't like any of the above titles they are trying to compare MK to so the preview has no credibility with me.

Because clearly you've playtested it more than a reputable magazine has.

The only ones banning games in Europe are those crazy england people and a few other countries.

I'd play it myself before letting a magazine choose for me.
And I'd sooner fuck a monkey than trust anything IGN says.

Usually I wouldn't care if it were just some rogue reviewer. Most of the time the difference in reviews is within a margin of error anyway so you can tell if someone is just off base. But here you have some people saying it's great and other people saying it's god awful. That's not normal and I've got $60-$70 on the line. I can't give this game the benefit of the doubt. In fact, based on the history of the series I have to assume it's a bad game and leave the burden of proof on the people telling me it's good. So you better believe I'm taking everything into account.
With all due respect to mastermalone and his friend DreamTR, I need something more concrete from the "it's good" crowd beyond a solid "trust me" to make me think these negative reviews are way off base.

The game will be good enough for finding out how the story goes. And maybe by the time you finish the story, you'll get a hang of the game and the gameplay. I don't know about DC fans, but as an MK fan the story line has always been told well enough.
And from the videos from what I have seen in youtube & TRMK, the gameplay looks clunky with certain characters, but plays good enough. The stages, effects, the lighting, the ambiance and character modeling and voice over/ mouth movement during speech looks neat, no, looks good. Looks like the game will be a good stress buster!!
Now only if it came out at the arcades first. Then I could played against alot more people. Anyword about online gaming and if there is any lag issues?

damn european's I say lets all get together and not listen to their spicegirl's anymore that will show them....oh wait we did that already...sorry my bad!!

isn't this the same magazine that gave Halo 3 a 5.5 or something as well? Looking at some of their other reviews certainly doesn't seem like they are very fair or even biased. Looks like it's all straight opinion reviews to me, and not objective.

it's already been said, but play it for yourself and decide from there. not everyone's going to like it.
