Deathstroke is the only DC character that I wanted that was confirmed so far.

My only other wish is for Lobo.

The DC characters they are putting in the game interest me more than the MK characters.

Thats sad because Im not even much of a fan of DC.

My personal predictions for the final two on each side using a combination of established patterns + Kotaku hints:

This has to be the best, DC render to date.

Going by kotaku's DC hint list, and pairing all the confirmed characters together, I believe the remaining 2 are Reptile and Lex. With the boss and another random charac as secrets.

Alright, everyone needs to start realizing that this game is not being made for the die hard Mortal Kombat fans, those of us who can who can identify the most obscure characters and settings in the series. Midway has hit hard times financially, and the only decent series they have left is MK; they need to start pulling in more fans.

That being said, the characters being chosen are those that are the most recognizable to people outside of our rabid circle. And let's be honest with ourselves; nobody else gave a damn about Mortal Kombat after MKII and the first movie. To them, Kano is FAR more recognizable a character than Mileena. In fact, I know many non-MK fans that don't understand Mileena and Kitana are even different characters.

Everyone on the Mortal Kombat side that are confirmed deserve to be in (except for maybe Jax). Smart money on the remaining goes to Johnny Cage (my personal hope) or Goro. Not Mileena, not Reptile, not Baraka, and certainly not Noob Saibot. They hold places close to our hearts, but not close to the minds of the general public or the DC fans Midway is trying to appeal to.

Yes! Wonder Woman is in and shes looking nice and womanly. Thank you Midway. Raiden and Kano. Just mentioning these two together immediately reminds me of the Raiden and Kano series from Malibu comics so long ago. Cant wait to see those renders. Furthermore its going to be interesting to see what kind fatalities they'll be able to give Kano. I am so used to the brutal bloody heart ripping Kano.

well im pleased with these 4 being announced. Wonderwomen was a given... Raiden as well.... Kano not a surprise to me at all, so may the kano-baraka tradition continue! plus yes i am glad Kano is in! (yeah he sucked in MKDA and MKA, but that is exactly why im happy for him and Jax to be in this game to give them another chance and personally with the new fighting engine i think they could rock!)...... now Deathstroke... all i can say is kool.... ive known of this character for a while, but forgot he was even DC... kool he will be in the game. reminds me a lot of Deadpool from Marvel actually. just a kool character.

Let me see if I can shed some light on these character choices.

Go up to some random person who has played MK, but don't really consider themselves MK fans.

Ask them to name an MK character.

What you'll hear is as follows:

"Scorpion"

"Sub-Zero"

"Liu kang"

"Sonya"

"That Australian dude with the red eye"

"That black guy with metal arms"

"That chick with the fans"

Etcetera.

- Glad to see Raidens finally been announced! I hope that if they render him, they use the same style of rendering they did with Jax+Liu Kang. Though there wasn't anything really "wrong" with Shang Tsungs render, and I really liked his render too, I prefer how good Jax and Liu Kang ended up looking.

I hope we get a "power pose" from Raiden too. Nothing lame, like anything that really hides his face. Or like him just blandly standing there. Maybe something with his staff? Maybe something like Garladors fan art? Please? lol

And for the love of god (pun on my part, sorry), Don't do a cut out of Raiden! Don't cut him out of the original bg he's drawn on (or whatever). In addition, avoid alot of issues by using the same blending technique used on Jax. There's like a "glow+blur" or something around him that makes Jax look better on the background he's on. Do that to Raiden.

Any cloth, shoes and stuff, I like those from the Liu Kang and Jax renders. Those are the best two I've seen from the MK style of rendering. None of the other characters have stuff I like from them as much.

Specifically, I like the hobo boots//shaolin monk shoes from Liu Kang. I like the skin texturing from both Jax and Liu Kang. I like the cloth an any metal textures on those renders. Liu Kangs hair looks really good. And most importantly, I like how Jax doesn't really have any 1-dimensional attributes that really stick out to me. Whereas Liu Kang does...even though those things are alot less obvious on Liu as it is.

Around any of the curves of or within the body...ect.

That is all...let's see what happens.

-+ Kano's not really a weird choice, just not desired. But it would be kinda cool to see him modeled after the MK1-movie actor. I forgot his name, but since the guy died, a homage would be really cool. *remembers the spiked hair and the accent* "Eh-low bay-be....did you miss me?" lol!

-+ Wonder Woman looks bad iMo. They did a good job on her hair and pose, and they also did a good job with her costume. Although I think they could have made her hair look...."fuller"? She looks like a "she" too, so that's also good.

However the flaws from Superman, Shazzam, Green Lantern are all over this one. All the one dimensional, seemingly sectioned off but pieced togetherness erks me good. I hope they remedy this issue in the future.

Would have been great if they'd went the way of the Jokers render for hers. She looks kinda old too (does anybody notice this?) But eh..."it's Wonder Woman, so what else could I want", right?

-+ DeathStroke is interesting. He should fit right in to MK I think. I'm pretty open to his interpretation because I don't know much about him. He looks cool in the cartoons and in the comics, so I hope that translates well into this game.

-+- Lastly here, that little teaser should have been the first teaser. That one was waaay more "exciting" than the first teaser we got back in April. Overall, it was just better

I also liked the "fight!" voice in that trailer. Use that one instead. It sounds more mean, more serious.

And is that guy talking through the action, Hans? Kinda sounds like a slightly manipulated version of him to me.

EDIT: Oh yea I forgot to mention, I like Lobo for DC, and probably Baraka or Mileena over Reptile and Cage. Even though all of them have about an equal chance, I think Baraka//Mileena nudges them out a little this time.

Besides, MK doesn't have a monster on the roster yet, and we need something that at least looks like a threat to the DC fanboys. We got Ninjas, Miltary, Hero, Sorcerer, and God, now we need a.... MONSTER.

For those of you who don't like Kano being included, then who would've been more a logical choice IYO? Just curious about that.

In the recent MKast, they mentioned how it was a huge debate as to who would be in, especially on the MK side, and it even got heated a few times.

I think people are overreacting to who should/shouldn't be in. One way or the other, the handful or so characters that were on the cusp of making it to the roster will probably be downloadable down the road anyways.

I'm very surprised Slade is in the game. Didn't see that one coming. WW render doesn't look too bad.
