ironically in this render he looks more like what John Parish looks like now. Have you seen Jax's kharacter kard? Jax ... i mean John has kinda let himself go

@ fedegita: Oh lord, thanks for letting me know. I will never look at that Kharacter card in that case. I don't want to ruin my fond memory of Jax as he was in those games lol.

#1....let me get this out the way. I still think a good spot was wasted on Jax.
With that out of the way, I don't mind this one. Let me say that, to me, the pants and the boots matching Sonya's makes sence to me in some way. They both belong to the special forces, which (like most branches of military) has some type of uniform. Why they have the same pants instead of the same shirt or beret or whatever is another story for another day.
I actually like the face. Jax looks the most badass he has ever looked in my opinion. In game you'll probubly never even notice the fatness of the face.
The arms do seem overly bulky to me. In mk3 they started out as more arm size attatchments and just got bigger from there. This is pretty much the zenith of how big they've gotten though. Kind of detracts from the charactar more than adding anything to him.
Not great, not bad, next render please.

Here's my take:
I like this render. Wait, I like this render waaay more than the other ones besides maybe Liu Kang and the Joker.
This one has better texturing than probably all the other ones released so far. This one is right about at the standard I thought they should have come in looking like.
The head and everything about the face looks almost real. Skin is good, lighting is good...ect. The hair on him looks really good too.
The textures between the vest and the pants are similar, but it fits for the type of character we're dealing with here. A soldier needs to have these types of materials on this way, and although they probably should be different, it's fine the way it is.
The metals, rubbers and plastics all look good texture-wise.
- They could have went with a different pose for him, that would've helped. I think they should've had him looking right at us instead. Showing how fearless he is...ect. Soldiers ALWAYS look you right-in-the-eyes.
But what we have here, is a pose that is aggressive, but kinda needs to see something going on around him in order to signify that he's doing something other than standing there pumping himself up.
It's alright though.
- They did a surprisingly good job on making him look like a soldier this time.
however....
- Those arms either gotta go, or HAVE GOT to be scaled down. I know it's probably too late to say anything about them but, they look "dumb" on him. I got a couple cousins that look almost just like this render and the way they naturally look when they're aggressively postured is intimidating enough.
To specify a little here, around the bicep, it looks fine. The reason for that, is because it looks naturally "on top" of his normal muscle. BUT, when we get to the forearm? NO! They look like steel bubbles around a muscle that is supposed to be naturally sleek. That muscle slides down in-to the wrist joint, but in this render, it goes up and around? Doesn't make sense.
There's also that extra break in the forearm section. WRONG again. There is no physical need for that. And instead, it should have been either a noticable slit on the top//outside of his fore arm armour, or none at all. Giving us a clue that he might have some sort of projectile like Sonyas. But if that isn't happening? Then there should not be a break in the armour like that, right there.
What would've been cool? Is if there was something underneath his arm, like a metal holster. That when we get in game, we find out that it is for his old cannon shot move.
But anyway, the forearms are messed up.
- An additive to the forearms, are the way the forearm amour, meets with his steel gloves is WRONG. That is not practical for optimal mobility mkTeam. Metal doesn't bend in order to accommodate a joint. The armor has to make room for the joint so he can move around right.
=============
- What I would've preferred?:
Since they had to have the metal arms, they should have just made him have "metal muscles" again. Just like they did with the the old Jax.
I think it would have looked better, and made a hell of a lot more sense to just see a very muscular Jax, jacket on like they have him here, with metal muscles. The robotic sections in his armor look stupid to me like they are.
The sections in his arm armour should have looked alot like they do on the old Jax. Yes, I know they've seen these before....but still:
Looks like a very muscular man with alloy plated arms. THAT's the way he should look here. Why this makes more sense is because of natual anatomy. Natual mobility in the joints....ect.
Right now, it looks like he's gonna have a hard time getting anything beside straight punching done. I could see him doing a ground pound, and maybe some left//right hooks, but nothing else that makes any sense according to how he looks here.
- I don't have a problem with the face or anything this time, he's a big dude so, that how they're supposed to look if they're looking down like that.
======================
Um, I still prefer Kai right now. This look for Jax is really good, and again, it's a great upgrade for him as a soldier. Hopefully as a "character who happens to be a black-man" too. He doesn't look like a stereo-type, so thank you MKTeam for that. This is what he needed.
I have a little hope that this look could make him a more cool character than he was even in the past is we get the voice, and mannerisms right. Sure, I'm interested in the character now.
What's with the belts that stick out on every character though?
All in all, this was a great shot in the right direction, but they didn't hit the nail on the head. Everything gets 2 thumbs up except for those ugly, nonsensical metal arms.

I've never been a fan of the Jax character.
And I hate that he made it into MK vs DC.
But this Jax looks fucking awesome. I love it. Jax has NEVER ever looked this good. He doesn't look stereotypical. He looks really badass and very realistic. Reminds me a lot of his MKA look, which is good even though MKA is a bad movie.

First as other members have stated above, I feel this slot was wasted on Jax, but I like his outfit and look in general. My opinion, best one since mk2.
Seriously though, what the hell happened to his face? Maybe it's just the pose in the render, and I am sure you won't notice in game (I hope) but what the hell? I don't know maybe his head looks too small and I think he needs his buzz cut back or something. Uniform looks great though, basic character design is sound.

Yeah, I agree still with the people conerning the "wasted slot" but this render looks pretty cool. Not by any means the best one but cool none the less, I don't see anything concerning the belt. Looks fine to me

Wow, Jax actually looks pretty cool for once(Well, except that he doesnt look like Jax lol)
Now let's just hope they don't throw in any of his "gangsta" lines from Deadly Alliance.

I find it funny how you guys are sweating Jax looking different as if MK characters don't look completely different in EVERY GAME THEY'RE IN PRACTICALLY.
Secondly, it's funny how yall don't want Jax to sound ghetto, but it's totally cool for Liu Kang to sound like a stereotypical asian kung fu star.
Newsflash..Jax is black..lots of black guys(including Majors) have a "blackness" to their voice.

That's not a bad thing. Characters need a fresh new look every now and then.
