I don't like Catwoman' s voice. When I see Catwoman I hear Adrienne Barbeau's voice from the animated series.

Predator 151 you're too fast for me. I was going to say that in spite of how I feel about this concept, the gameplay is looking more appealing everyday. It looks faster and certainly looks like the old juggle combos are going to be back big time.That was what was missing from the last mk games in my opinion. The ability to link special moves together was so much fun.

It looks like I'll be using Raiden again now. No, it also appears to me that the mk characters keep losing in these vids also. It really grated on me watching Sonya lose to Catwoman.

I'm torn, this game looks fun, but it only makes me want a real mk game with this engine even more. That is probably going to be another 2 years..Oct or Nov 2010. Shit!

I seriously hope the word rage isn't as abused and overused as it is in that clip. And is it me, or does Captain marvel's voice not suit him? Technically speaking he is just a teenage boy or something right? But even still, his voice does not sound powerful or commanding, instead it sounds too youthful. I do wish that there were separate Rage activation animations for all characters. It just does not suit some of these characters to go into that awkward, bodybuilder stance that makes the females Kitana, Catwoman, Sonya & Wonder Woman look like they are taking a constipated bowel movement more than anything lmao.
But oh well, too late for changes now. I thoroughly enjoyed the Mashup video. Catwoman's voice is not exactly how I expected her to sound. I figured her voice would sound very seductive, almost deep. Much more like her BTAS counterpart. Instead she sounds very reminiscent of the Queen of Purrring that is Eartha Kitt. Was this done on purpose or pure coincidence? I dunno, but while it wasn't what I expected, it doesn't sound horrible but could have been better. Sonya looks great, love her bicycle kick more than ever! And the elbow maneuver she does to get up looks awesome! Too bad Catwoman's claws are not always present. But it's nice to see them extend during her Klose Kombat move. I look forward to Fatality Friday!

AWESOME vid! (Match up N2)

First of all, I love the way we’ve been getting the order of the Mash ups and Fatalities in regards to the MK characters and the DC fighters. The top ones that are always picked are Sub-Zero, Rayden, Sonya and Scorpion (who didn’t get a Fatality Friday just because his was the first fatality we saw).

Sonya VS Catwoman:

YAY!!!!!!! There are just so many things that make me happy about this video.

Counterparts!

For starters, I LOVE the fact that they are both counterparts. I think it’s a nice change that they made Sonya have a female rival, but I wouldn’t had mind if she had been paired up with a male rival as it usually happens. I love how this girl is always kicking male butt around and not just females (most females tend to have females as their main enemies, and that shouldn’t always be the case, woman are just as capable of kicking male butt in this stuff, like Sonya does!), but considering this is Catwoman we are talking about, probably one of the most loved and well known characters in Comic book history, I am more then pleased.

Voices and Personalities:

Sonya:

One word?: PERFECT!

They nailed her personality perfectly and beautifully. She sounds tough, intimidating and dangerous. You seriously don’t want to mess with this babe or she will destroy you. I think they did an outstanding job with her personality and voice in the MK games that had character voices, dialogue, etc. (MKSM was great and MKA Konquest was AMAZING), but this is simply the best job of all.

I love the facial expressions as well, the way Sonya’s eyes glare slowly with annoyance and malevolence is wicked, same with the way her mouth twitches in anger.

She sounds as she should, her personality is believable, easy to love and easy to cheer for. I’m just glad they’ve kept her as a decent representative for woman in the game. This might be a “complex” issue for many, not as significant for some, but the point is, I’m glad we have this tough babe in the game.

Catwoman:

I truly enjoy the contrast of these two females.

In one hand you have: the tough feminist who can destroy any male (always pathetic in her eyes) who dare to stand in her way, and on the other had, you have the bitch (in the good way, lol) who prefers to act sexy to manipulate man (pathetic males in her eyes as well).

I must admit I LOVED and ENJOYED hearing her speak and move (“So if you could just maaaaybe”, “Not tonight honey, I have a headache...”), but I do wonder if that is Catwoman’s accurate personality.

From what I hear that’s exactly how she is, but I’ve heard from a few fans that even though she acts that way, she doesn’t come off as slutty. I don’t know, hopefully she hasn’t been miss portrayed (I’m thinking about her biggest fans, Mick!!!, get your butt here and please explain ).

Point is: I think it’s excellent for her, it’s a lot of fun. It also feels like they nailed her personality perfectly.

Game Models:

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK. WHY the hell can’t they give the other characters Sonya’s perfect hair animation????? I mean, seriously, I’m very very surprised, pleased and in love with the way her hair is animated in this game, specially the beautiful hair bangs that give her such a sexy-dangerous-dark look.

If you take notice during the entire video (as we have always seen actually), her hair bangs have a very superior, smooth and natural hair animation then any other character in the game. I don’t get why they didn’t do this for the others that need it.

Sonya looks absolutely beautiful AND tough, which makes me a happy fanboy (those hair bangs are just gorgeous!). No wonder she’s been mentioned more then once as one of the best and favorite models of the game. The detail is fantastic.

Catwoman looks very sexy and cool, and even though I have come to accept and like those goggles, I really hope we get to see her without them sometime in the game, because they truly cover up all her face and most of her facial expressions. I want to see more of Catwoman’s face. It’s kind of a shame we might not see more though, in the game.

Graphics:

WOW!!!!!

They look AMAZING!

The Special forces base is simply gorgeous! I’m super happy they finally gave us this as an arena, fans have been asking for a Special Forces base since MKDA, and now we have 2!!!

Look at the beautiful detail of the water and sky, and the way free fall plays when they fall, its unbelievable. This game is going to be so much fun.

Also notice the excellent body damage, the detailed costumes, the very sexy faces of both characters, and how natural everything seems to flow.

Gameplay AND Special Animations AND Sounds:

FUN!!!!!!!!!

First of all, even though it sucks we didn’t get to see better footage (the game players seemed to be new with the game, which is annoying because it would have rocked to see more special moves and more wicked serious combos there), what we saw still looks like a lot of fun.

I hate that the “combo breaker” looks soooo much like the MKD/MKA ones. Am I mistaking? It’s just so annoyingly similar.

Klose Kombat and Free fall both look fun and amazing.

BTW, did anyone else notice the very tough way Sonya get’s up at 0:47? I hadn’t seen that animation before, so I hope that means characters have special unique animations and not generic.

I also enjoyed the improved voice screams!!! If you hear Sonya’s pain scream after Catwoman does her free fall super move, you will notice it sounds a lot more painful then other screams we have heard from other characters.

But then again, her pain scream also sounded brilliant in a veeeeery early video where Superman threw his laser eyes at her during free fall.

I hope all characters get awesome+fun death/pain screams.

Overall Final thoughts:

* Sonya looks glorious, beautiful, fun and perfect. Right now, I’m the happiest MK fan in the world. They’ve portrayed her so well and with a lot of detail and attention.
* Catwoman looks just as awesome and fun!! I’m truly dying to see more of her in the game. I think she is going to give us some laughs.
* Gameplay looks fantastic. I’ve never been this excited for an MK game...never! (this is even more then my excitement for MKDA, which is still my fave).

I’ll write my comments on Scorpi and Flash very soon. But I must say, I am very surprised both of this are counterparts...I don’t really get how, but I’m sure it’s going to work.

The gameplay has improved since the last which is a step in the right direction but I hope that like someone has already said tweak it up and make it that much better for the next installment.
I hope they don't change it as a whole for the next game cause it's very unnecessary.

Sonya's personality so far is being portrayed in a very impressive manner. We haven't seen many story-mode cutscenes yet, but luckily, Sonya's again been chosen for advertisement, and her personality was pretty much on the ball. Tough, intimidating, no-nonsense, straight-to-the-point, and aggressive, very quick to start a fight and ask questions later. I've always loved her in-your-face attitude and rash, destructive behavior in any interaction, not to mention it's a great parallel to Catwoman's drawling, sexual-innuendo-filled manner of carrying herself (another very beloved personality of mine). Seeing the two interact was extremely fun, I seriously can't wait to see more of Sonya and Miss Catwoman in the story mode. I hope Sonya keeps up the 'tude when she's kicking Green Lantern's ass

I don't think Catwoman was moaning in the beginning. It looks to me like she literally did have a headache and she was just expressing her discontent. It did not sound like a moan of pleasure or anything. To me it sounded and looked more as if she had to remember what her own name was. Which is probably true considering the way these guys seem to be mysteriously teleporting around in the game.

- Catwoman sounds goofy. I don't recall Selina being vaguely British.

- I don't like Catwoman, but I can't be mad at seeing Sonya Blade get her ass kicked.

- Still don't see how Scorpion and Flash are supposed to match-up.

- The story looks retarded...but I bet it would make for a fantastic drinking game. "Every time someone says 'RAGE' do a shot." You'll probably be blitzed within minutes.

- And was that Sonya's leg grab I saw Wonder Woman attempting? Why am I not shocked?

I saw Quan Chi! Anyhoo, The rage thing ain't working for Kitana. I like the fact that DC characters are actually fighting each other.

Hell and an apocaliptic huge wave of hatred and complains would already be happening if that was the case.

In the Pro-Moves video, you can actually see Wonderwoman doing the special move in its entirely: She just kicks the opponent with her feet while handstaning and goes back to normal. It's kind of like Sindel's kick (in MKD after she does her grab+slide of course), but more like Kai's MK4 handstand and then "press button kick." But yes, apparently, she uses Sonya's hand stand animation. -_-'...........

Thank God it ended there. Sonya's Leg Grab is such an iconic move that it would be an insult, and a very dangerous one, to give it to someone else. Anyone. That would be suicide.

Hearing that the fatalities in America are going to be censored and this whole Rage thing is really corny has pretty much driven me to the point where I see no hope for this game. I wouldn't rent it now but I promised my brother I would and I'd let him play it with me.

Unless MK 9 is godlike I am abandoning the MK franchise.

This game still doesn't impress me. Every time I see that Close-up Kombat, there is a second of hesitation of what the player should do next. I think the concept of rage is wack. I would've prefer the agressor mode they had in MKT.

When Sonya does her bicycle kick, her voice is exactly like the one from MK3! I'm sure it's an exact copy.

Anyway, the vid looks great.

The freefall combat looks amazing, BUT I'm sure it's going to be mere button-mashing.
