Well let's say it is Goro right, and lets assume that these pics are 360 and PS3 respectively(as someone else thought it was)

What if they're hinting that Goro would be an exclusive on the PS3 and someone else would be exclusive on 360(like how SC4 did with vader and yoda respectively)

Just a thought.

I mean seriously, why would they give 2 identical pictures?? It must have some hidden hint or something...

The only noticeable difference between them that you wouldn't need to actually look for was the thing that Pred did with the 2 images(the ground having lava going in different directions). If my theory is correct, then I guess Midway may have taken something out of SC4's book(exclusives on each side)

Then again I could be entirely wrong...

Dumbest fucking thing I've read all day.

Not ONLY is it a trademark of Scorpion.....its a trademark of Mortal Kombat.

Ask anyone the first Fatality they could think of....and I'd bet you anything it would be the Toasty fatality.

And its been around since MK1?

News flash sally, neither MKDA, MKD, or MKA had that Fatality.

The last MK Fighting game to feature it was MK fucking 4.

Ok....The Dragon Fatality I'd have to put up there with the Toasty....as for the spine rip....as well known as it is....I don't think it's as visually iconic as the other 2.

One is a Dragon....the other is a Ninja with a Skull for a head that breaths fire.

See what I'm saying?

Spine rip is up there too though. First question asked about this game in all the interviews for like.......hell, up to current, is:
"Can I rip so and so's head off?"

Considering the context of the debate here, it certainly deserves more credit than that.

I do agree though, the hell fire has a more shocking? aesthetic? than the spine rip. Also, the way the hell fire looks in action in this game, isn't as dramatic as the MK1 version. That one, had "whoa" affect. Cuz it was quick, and had a really damning effect on the victim. Even though it didn't make sense for it to be THAT effective, that quickly.

Bottom line I think, is that they either need to bring that "whoa" effect back somehow, or they just need to get him something new that is to the equivalent of that "whoa" effect.

Personally, the Scorpion fatality I always preferred, was that very cold hearted, very sinister double slice fatality. Something very smooth and "ninja" about it. Also made me think that it could've been how he finished the elder Sub-Zero off. Yea, that MK2 secondary fatality, but particularly, the MKSM version was the best one.

I know it's a trademark, and I don't really care. The fatality is boring, that's all I'm saying. No need to get all pissy about something.

btw, Spine Rip, and Heart Rip > Toasty

If I were Midway, I'd so look at some Naruto Episodes for inspiration. There are tons of similar flame breath techniques like Sorpion uses.

Here's one of the most impressive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flltvwIKd5o

And a few others. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPA2-4KpkiA

Instead of having a flame breath like a flamethrower, I'd make it more like a giant fireball instead. Engulfing the opponent on impact and practically have the force tear his flesh off as he burns.

And to make it more impressive, make the whole thing look more cinematic. Like using the sequence they had in the Mortal Kombat Movie. Close up of Scorpions skull, eyes flaring with fire and then unleashing his breath.

That should do for a "woah" effect.

@ ScorpionsPupil.....Notice I said last MK....FIGHTING game. Shaolin Monks was a spinoff beat'emup.

@ SubMan....you're entitled to your opinion.....but saying that the Heart Rip is better than the Toasty is just laughable.

If you turned your head for 1 second LITERALLY when Kano rips the heart out and then looked right at the body....you wouldn't even notice that the guy was dead. The victim is fully intact.....BORING.

The heart rip is probably one of the dullest Fatalities of all time.

And again....the Spine Rip isn't as iconic as Toasty is...its VERY well known....but not AS iconic. Its not even a full on trademark of Sub-Zero. They gave Scorpion a more brutal version of it in MKD where he thrusts his hand through the victim's throat GRABBING the spine itself in his fist and tearing the head off.

You'll more than likely say that you like Sub-Zero's version more where he rips the head off at the top......but the fact is.....Scorpion has the more brutal version of it.

A few comments before I go to bed...

1) The "whoa" factor won't be in this game. It's a test run for the next gen systems. They are keeping to the basics. Wait for MK9 for the "whoa" factor.

2) Toasty is an iconic fatality, if not THE iconic fatality, in my opinion. But of course that will always depend on the player. The spine rip, heart rip, dragon chomp, soul steal, and even Sonya's kiss of death are ALSO iconic, and I'm sure they'll be in the game as well. No need to argue about that. They are ALL iconic. Why else would they be in almost every MK game?

3) There is no "hidden face" in the background of image #2. Let it go.

4) I think this time around, Midway is going to focus on nostalgia, and whether people like it or not, the fatalities are most likely going to be revamped versions of the classic MK1/MK2 fatalities, despite the number of times we've seen them in previous games.

5) And finally, I stubbed my toe while walking into my apartment, and it really hurts. I'm pissed. furious
