^I have to agree with this user. I think the mere fact that DC characters are running around in this game, is clouding alot of ppl's judgments. The render is far from bad, it's looks rather current-gen....to me at least.

Ha, Ha SEVERE Understatement dude. I realized that since day one on here...sadly, glad more people are noticing that though.

LOL@ the ignorant comments in here by some people like MK games don't have replay value? ha, ha apparently never played MKD, MKDA, MK2, MK3, UMK3 or MK:SM much....for people that think that seriously...

That other post with the dude saying Fatalities will judge the game, seriously that's pure bs......it's like someone else said, gameplay is FIRST don't care what anyone says. If you don't have a good game to play, then who cares about anything else? Yeah....

Two things that never fail on this site of late, pure ignorance with MK and DC and pointless hating.....

for such a simple character to design, I think they did a good job with him.

I hope the gameplay is good, they have only had 3 MK games with very limited broken gameplay and thats UMK3, MKDA, and MKSM.

yeah Death/Black Metal bands would be a great gimmick. they're dark and brutal, MK should be dark and brutal. perfect match.

Don't worry, I'm sure there are lots of other people stuck in the nineties around here... Hey, how about some XTREME sports mini-games?!

Ok so were have great gameplay ok but will still get boring and then no fatalities or toned down fatalities ie (sub zero will walk up to batman it will say "finish him" and the two of them have a cuddle) hmm never mind we still have great gameplay.

Im sticking with what i am saying no its not all about the fatalities but... without them its gonna be seriously compromised Mortal Kombat has always been about the gore and violence and without it well dont say i told you so when it turns out to be crap.

My opinion sorry all...

I doubt it'll be crap honestly, but I'll bet anything right now this game will SELL big regardless of who likes it and who doesn't. As in bigger then MKD and MKA did....

Like I said before, fatalities were the "trend" in the 90's of the main attraction. The main attraction with this game is the new slate, crossover with DC and next gen. Later

I Fell to see what is so wrong with Superman, gosh, what were you guys freakin expecting? And like I had said before, I grew up on the original MK for snes which didn't have blood or fatalities, so having a MK game without fatalities isn't foreign to me.

You asked for it, he was this "girly" boy who looked like a girl, back then he could pass for one, now, lets just say he can pass for a middle aged pervert who should be on "to catch a predator" :)

Typical MKO MK haeters...
Superman looks fucking fine. This "Generation" has NOTHING to do with the render, It's not an in-game shot of Superman.

There isn't much you can do with his suit so it really isn't bad. it reminds me more of the Doom engine with the facial features though.

It looks in-game to me, the model looks as good as the batman model in the teaser.

I hope it's in-game. I like how this looks.

I am NOT complaining how Superman is designed. I'm not complaining that Superman is in this game. I'm not complaining about his current costume. I'm not complaining about his color scheme.

My big beef with the Superman render is that, plain and simple, it is mediocre. I could go through and point out bits and pieces, but mainly I have problems with the plastic helmet hair, the airbrushed belt, the plastic look, the, ironically, "cartoon" facial features, and the rather primitive bump-mapping, coupled with some low-resolution textures that were used on him.

I'm not saying it's bad, but compared to the character models for Soul Calibur IV, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill: Homecoming, and many games I've been following, the character just doesn't match up. It looks too "fake", too much like an action figure. The costume looks welded to his body instead of something he wears. All of these are things easy to fix, but for the moment, I just can't like this render. I don't hate it, but I hardly like it.

Just to double check, we're sure the M in MKO doesn't stand for Mensa?...

so, because it established populatrity, we're living in the 90s? right, you have no idea what you're even going on about anymore do you?

You're talking about it as a Mortal Kombat soundtrack.

I'm not quite sure where the confusion is...
(Or why I'm still engaging so many of the perpetually confused...)

So, how about that Superman render?...
Looks a lot like Superman! The Man of Steel! The last son of Krypton!
Yessir! I wonder if we will get to see alternate costumes, what the likelihood of the black and silver outfit will be.

Maybe electric Superman?
Because you just know someone out there wants it... Someone who might, perhaps, be said to be stuck in the nineties... Yes'm.

If you actually read the post I made before the one where he quoted me, I was suggesting a crossover with Death/Black metal bands fighting the MK characters, not a soundtrack so please don't try and tell me what I'm talking about it as. Just because it gained popularity in the 90s doesn't really mean anything except that people will think about the more recent Black/Death metal bands, there's no 'living in the 90s' about it if you actually take the time to think of other bands.

and the render isn't so bad it just needs some hair improvement

That's essentially my view of the whole thing. It's just lazy looking.

I think what he means is that Mortal Kombat (and the community itself) is trapped in this guy's universe:
