Starting with the positive, I actually though Subzero, Liu Kang, and Joker had decent endings. They weren't very eventful, but still interesting developments that I felt fitted each character.

As for the bad? Where to even start?

I don't know if Baraka's was the worse, but it certainly pissed me off the most. It wasn't so much that the ending was good or bad, but they forgot to put Baraka in the fucking ending! THERE IS NO MENTION OF HIM! The ending completely centers around the outcome of the Tarkatan race, but you know what? Baraka is a person, an individual, NOT A FUCKING RACE! If I beat the game with Jax, and the ending only mentioned the general status of African Americans, would it merit the title of "Jax's ending"?

Scorpion's was not only shitty, but it didn't make sense. Dark Kahn possessed Scorpion's body, but why did this exclusively happen to Scorpion? Wouldn't this have happened to every other character who defeated Dark Kahn? And to complicate things, Scorpion's body isn't even human, it's spectral vessel. Why would THAT be more suitable for Dark Kahn's Consciousness? And even if it did make sense, who wants to beat the game with their favorite character only to find out that he gets fucked in the end anyway?

Superman creates a new suit that makes him invulnerable to "magic." You know, when Boon first mentioned the magic thing, I thought he was just using the term to reference a greater more explicit cause that was "Magical" in nature. Nope. It's just magic. How the fuck does that work? If I were superman, I'd be surprised too: "Oh no, your vague and indiscernible power source is crippling me!" Anyway, the ending was boring and uneventful.

Kitana's ending wasn't bad, but I wish it would have tied into some of the other characters. Isn't Liu Kang boning her at this point in the timeline?

Raiden's was boring. Just an uneventful cliffhanger.

Those were my biggest gripes. I'm sure there are more, but God help me if I have to review the endings again.

I thought Kitana's was an amusingly cheesey nod to her being Wonder Woman's parallel. Apparently, Edenia really is run by women after all.

Had there been any mention of Liu Kang in her ending, I would have vomited with rage.......moreso than I have already.
What's Wonder Woman's ending? All I've heard so far is it's "a slap in the face to her fans"....which doesn't surprise me, but I'd like to know.

yeah the endings were poo. worse than rmageddon's. thankfully it's fun to play. but batman's ending was by far the weakest i've seen.

Well to me dark sides consciousness have not completely taken over scorpions body yet scorpion is still fighting within because it said scorpion knew he would be the most powerful entity if he survives dark sides consciousness. It never said that scorpion is dead so if he can surpress darkside trying to take over his body he will be even more awesome lol

Raiden - Welp, Raiden got raped in his ending. Once again, some "thing" a mortal mysteriously obtained, randomly, and illogically subjects him to a damning ultimatim. It's retarded. No offense.

Liu Kang - I was interested, and I thought for a second; "interesting to see the MkTeam raising the bar on the leaders of the good guys". But then I thought....This is just stupid.

The quality of these endings makes me feel like they forgot about them until the morning that it was supposed to go gold and they just threw a bunch of shit together. I wouldn't be so bothered by these if there wasn't proof (DA) that competent endings can be made. Maybe next time.

Deathstroke - he forms is own lin kuei type clan of assassins.

Flash - Flash and Liu Kang are united now with psychic connections. It looks like he has his spirit and it warns him against Quan Chi

Batman - something like he create some kind of Robots, ONAC (I think) to defend Earth in future invasions.

Lex Luthor - he steals the techonology of making portals and open one. Quan Chi leaves the portal and they make a Deadly Alliance.

Shang Tsung - he uses sorcery to creat a being merging Tarkatans with Captain Marvel.

Sonya's would seem to be the single best one. It is completely in character for her, a US army general, noble, stoic, a real hero who sacrifices everything to help people. It seems fitting that she would get a Green Lantern Corp ring. I like it.

That wold seem unfair to the fans. People play with Jax because they like the character, not because they like the Special Forces. And imagine if I walked in on a FMV ending that featured only the special fores after the game was won; I wouldn't even know which character beat the tournament. It could be Sonya just as much as Jax.

As for Baraka, I do agree that the Tarkatans are pretty standard when comes to behavior, but I would consider Baraka significantly more intelligent than the rest of his race. He served a leadership role for Onaga in MKD and made dealings with Quan Chi in MKgold (endings aside, I do consider that canon). I would think he would have his own unique thoughts and feelings about his victory over Dark Kahn (that sounded a little Dr. Phil-ish, but you get the idea).

Sonya's not stoic. Stoic means retraint, as in being free from passion.

A) It's not obvious the endings were meant for humor. Boon said the game would still be Dark and Gritty, and I held him to that.

B) What's funny about bad and uneventful writing?

Boon stated in his interview on the IGN podcast that arcade endings would be
"humorous what if scenarios." Bad and uneventful writing is a series staple, the only game in this franchise that DOESN'T suffer from it is MKDA. Why would expect that to change now that the Big Red Cheese is in the mix?

omg! wow, these endings suck terribly. ALL of them. Glad I have not
spent 60 bucks on this. This game lacks EVERYTHING. Yeah so the
gameplay is better, woop-dee-doo. We can't even get decent character
endings and were jipped out of just about every extra known to fighting
games. Definitely will be renting this now, I won't spend 60 bucks on
something that offers absolutely nothing but lackluster finishers, lame
endings, a story mode that doesn't even focus on all the characters of
each respective side. Story mode, Online and that's it. I pray MK9 is
delivered to us sometime in 2009 or 2010. This is bullocks!

This is all in my opinion but If you didn't like the MK games for the past couple of years and didn't like this one,then MK9 is going to be bad for you as well.I think since MK went 3-D it started getting bad from there.So MK9 will just get even worse.Its the same thing that happened to one of my favorite game characters.Sonic.Sonic used to be an awesome game to play and now they ruined the series once it went into 3-D.I guess a lot of companies now a days just want quick money and don't think about their true fans that have been fans back when their series first started.
