this is a very awesome idea. I think a must should be, we HAVE to have pictures of our khameleon posted up next to our bio. And pictures can only be KAK kreated kharacters.

but thats not fair to the people without camera's i don't have one and i'm planning on posting my khameleon (i've already made it i think it's damn good but that's just me) i'll be posting my formula to show how to make it so maybe the judges can make it themselves and post their thoughts on it or something

In these kinds of contests (and I've seen a few for other games) having the judges make the character themselves always take away from the score, because it makes it look like the judges doing your work for you.

Get a camera or (even better) get a TV card for your comp. If you can't, then find someone who does. You could ask some of the folks here to help you out. I don't think everybody would be a jerk about it. I don't think everyone would say "STFU, I wanna win! I'm not helping you!" or something like that.

I would like to see your Khameleon, if it's as good as you say it is. But making people work to see it will do nothing but go against you.

Ok, a few things have changed.

First off, I have received approximately one applicant for a judging position. Despite this idea being as good as everyone says it is, no one wants to be on the deciding side. Hence, I think it's better if I just handle the whole damn thing myself (Sorry Basketwheels, but on the upside, you can enter now too), because the contest has been scaled down a tad:

There will no longer be any submissions of a biography to Midway or the MK team for approval. Reasons are as follows:

Let's face facts: The story sucks. Being that there ARE no bios in MKD, and that the endings are utter garbage, I see no reason why the MK team should be disgraced by our submitting a character with a stronger storyline than all of theirs put together. I also see no reason why a lovely creation such as what will win this contest should be disgraced by being part of the crap-fest.

So, the reward shall be something much more accessible, and certainly achievable: Dragon Points bestowed by yours truly to the winner, and some also bestowed to those who come close.

If anyone no longer wishes to participate, I can certainly understand why - DPs are a far cry off from an official submission, but truth be told, I no longer consider MKA deserving of more attention than it needs (but let's leave the arguments with me for another topic :P), and I'm sure many would agree with me. Still, that shouldn't stop us from inserting the one great missing link into the game. Exactly how many dragon points will be revealed after I confer with Crow, but I think I can promise a very fair amount for the big winner, and even some to those who come close. More soon.

The format will be as follows: PM me your statistics and/or the URL of your KAF picture. I'm doing it this way rather than publicly on these forums because I'd rather no one slyly copied ideas from anyone else - we can all post our versions on the board after the first two rounds (more on those later). I'll be judging the best all-around individual Khameleon design first, her alternate second, and when those are over, we can all combine our ideas and see if we can whip up something truly mind-blowing. And I'll be sure to award DPs where necessary for that, too.

For the colors, We'll use a very simple, tried and true format: Colors are X across, Y down. So the upper left-most box is X1Y1, the one below that is X1 Y2, etc.

For facial statistics and sizes( and boobies, tee hee), we shall use a simple format from 0 being the smallest, and upwards to the max. So if Khameleon has the tiniest eyes possible, her eye size is 0. Pretty simple, I think. Plus one for every unit you add. :)

Something I also strongly suggest be done is that you let me know in a few paragraphs or so where you acquired your inspiration for the design, what made you give her which attribute, etc. That way I can see where you're coming from and judge accordingly.

And yes, there is the matter of her alternate costume. I've decided to implement a regulator on this, however: As most classic characters' alts tend to revolve around a previous incarnation of their design, so will be the case with Khameleon's. Her alternate should be something that brings the UMK3/MKT design schematic to mind, but is not a direct clone of Kitana, Mileena or Jade's. Show off your best spin on the old style!

There will be three rounds. As I stated earlier, there can, and will be, multiple winners for round three: Everyone who contributes to the final group-created design will share in the DP reward.

One can submit entries for both rounds. In the event that one person wins both rounds, an equal amount of DPs will be given to both first and second place of Round Two.

Round 1: Khameleon Revealed
Round 2: Take on The Klassic
Round 3: Many Lizards As One

Round One begins now. I will allow a more than generous amount of time to allow anyone living outside of the USA who does not have the game yet time to purchase it.

I visit the boards reguarly but have just recently set up an account because I really liked this idea.. I think the fact that we can all use the KAK feature beyond personal use is really, really cool.

I may be a new member, but does anyone mind if I can join in this contest?? I really like the spirit you all share on this site and I very much want to be a part of it because I haven't really belonged to any groups when I was growing up. I like how the forums here bring people together..

Can you explain to me the three rounds and what they mean?

Certainly.

Round 1: Make Khameleon with the main costume you'd imagine she'd have in MKA.

Round 2: Make Khameleon's Alt. As ost characters use versions of their old costumes, this equires a unique spin on the old UMK3 design.

Round 3: After rounds 1 and 2 are completed, everyone may post their Khameleon stats here, and we see if we can't make something amazing by combining ideas. This one isn't really a round or a competition per se, more like an experiment that we all knew was going to happen anyway, with DPs going to those who whip up seriously impressive results. :)

And Basketwheels, don't worry about it. I'll be able to handle things okay. Use the extra time to enter. :)

K, I've got a question lol. Is this mainly an appearance thing? Or should I include a list of moves, specials, weapon style, etc.?

Thank you for the welcome! I am excited to be a part of it. Seeing as I have a month to submit my entry, I intend to make it the best I can and put as much thought into it as possible.

I've been reading her backstory from Wikipedia, and I think I have a nice idea as to where to begin her purpose and her outcome. I'm genuinely excited.. I finally have a chance to put my imagination and creativity to use in a physical form rather than just day dreaming at my desk all day.

Yes, it is most definitely reccomended that you send your special moves, fighting styles, weapons, etc (that goes for those who've sent theirs in already, too). Won't do at all if she looks great but has Bo Rai Cho's vomit attack and the like, if ya get my drift.

Hm... I have an okay Khameleon on my game, but I don't know when I'll ever find the time to type it all down.

I think they should put her in, hell she was kool in MKT (N64) I like both of them. Chameleon and Khameleon was and is 2 importanat characters that played a big part in the MK History. When I saw Chameleon in MKA and thought, "Where is Khameleon?" They said EVERY character.... There is still a few more that are not in MKA. BRING BACK KHAMELEON!!!!!
