I'll admit that the vignette wasn't bad and I'll give them props for coming up with a decent reason for Freddy to be killable. However, I still stand by my original distaste for having him in Mortal Kombat.

This is just dreadful. Not because it's scary, because it definately isn't, but dreadful because it is so bad...

First of all... Why the hell did Stryker's soul go to the Netherrealm? He's one of the good guys! Second... the Dream Realm? Really? I can't take that seriously.

This is as non-canon as it gets... I hope.

It's not canon, it's like Kratos' bio and ending, they're just "for fun". Dream Realm reminds me of Sonic Shuffle though

It's supposed to signify the dream world.


Johnny and Stryker were fighting, and Johnny knocked Stryker out. The unconscious Stryker fell into Dream World.

Unfortunately, they used Hell to signify Dream World. Why? Well, no other stage would make any sense.

Often times, Freddy would have battles with his victims in red, hot places, so Hell isn't that odd of a choice.



What DOESN'T make sense is how can Freddy attack people in their dreams....when Shao Kahn pulled him out of Dream World?

He went to the Netherrealm because they obviously don't have an arena to use to represent Heaven.

Not to mention, I can't think of any kind of Heaven-related scenes shown in a Freddy movie.

And secondly, Dream Realm sounds cool. Because it reminds me of Sonic.

Dream Realm reminds me of Gauntlet: Dark Legacy.

The Tower is rather dreamy for a stage... The changing weather makes it a unique and beautiful setting. One of my favourite stages...

... so yeah, glad NRS didn't defile that stage with FK's presence...

I hated and loved that stage so much.

This. Everytime I pick The Tower, I have to select the Klassic soundtrack for nostalgia(and that's my favorite)

That too, it was one of the most beautiful yet most confusing realms in the entire game. I miss that game, they need to make a new one a.s.a.p., I still have the Gamecube version though.

On topic, I wonder if Freddy's more of a keep away/ zoner character because with all those ground claws and the various ranges of them.

Great story vignette. I'll be getting him on both consoles, as I've done for all DLC's so far. (100% supporting you NRS) in hopes for more DLC.

Freddy was every kids nightmare growing up, I remember getting scared of him when I was a kid in the early 80's. Now I can finally get my revenge! jk
Can't wait to see him in combat.

One thing I'd like to note, in the vignette, you see in Freddy's fatality that there is some form of lava underneath that hole he's dragging the guy under, but I didn't notice any lava in the gameplay trailer released 2 weeks ago. Hope they added that in, that would look alot better! bloody volcano.

aaaaannnnnndddddd on topic. This vignette is easily my favorite. A lot of care went into this(which some will find fault with, and to some degree, I can understand why). The story is so so, but I can live with that. I'm so psyched for this release.
