That's a sword and he uses it during the fatality.

The render shown on the official site lacks that sword thoug, probably because of gameplay issues as he doesn't have 2 like other versions of the character, which would cause problems when facing opposite sides.

This is the first MK announcement in 20 years that I saw with disgust. First of all the extremely horrible music choice. And second, the over-hype of Scorpion.
I know that Boon's favorite is Scorp and the MK fan base of USA is possibly more Scorp and less Sub oriented, but here in Europe Sub-Zero is the absolute favorite by far. Also Sub-Zero's look has to be the look of John Turk, but with every new MK they directly try to make him look less like John Turk. Here in MKX Sub looks like Raiden. Horrible.....

Well, most good trap has hip-hop style lyrics. Personally, I would've just gone with the drop from this song, if trap were to be used.

Not a huge fan of Wiz, but don't really give a fuck-- did you see that fight?

The appearance of human Sub-Zero makes me wonder if the story for MKX will be a prequel. Either that or its a pretty serious retcon. Or they're just giving up on continuity.

I'd be pretty down for a prequel game.

Without psycho analyzing it (yet), it looks good to me! The costumes look more practical...more realistic this time too. Thumbs up so far.

the trailer music is horrendous and puts me off re-watching the trailer :/

the trailer was just Scorpion and Sub Zero (no surprises there)

really good news that it is MKX! that's awesome and a great title :)

I personally dug the song. I thought it went well with the fight. It also really added to me getting all hyped up.

And the way that sub got killed at the end of the trailer was pretty cool.

I highly doubt this even remotely suggests that they won't continue from MK9's story. It is just a trailer; remember, they showed Raiden fighting Shao Kahn in Outworld in his colosseum for an MK9 trailer, which never happened in MK9. Kuai Liang will still probably be a cyborg and Bi-Han will still probably be Noob Saibot.

Honestly that trailer gave us nothing besides getting us all excited and telling us that there really is a new MK coming.
