Well I know I haven't posted for like years so here we go.

Remember how back in April that we all went crazy ape sh88 literally over the fact that you were going to have batman and superman in the Mortal Kombat soup?

I was biased against the game until I saw the gameplay fully and soon went on to love the game.

So really though, have opinions changed ALOT since April?tongue

Well, to be very honest with you, when i first heard about the concept of this game, and that it indeed was the next MK game, i really did not like it.

"Not. One. Bit." (quoting The Joker)

But after i got used to the idea, and info about the game was released, i kind of accepted it. It may be a good way to 'explore new grounds', in the current generation, for the next game, wich will be the so-called MK8, we're waiting for.

When Boon mentioned this game is a "what if?", a non-canonical MK aproach, i felt such a relief, i could not describe it. This way, Midway can learn and explore with this game, in order for a greater experience for the future.

Uum, I gotta say no actually. Not my opinions or stance has changed. Although I understand a few things better, and appreciate some of the changes and information they've given out so far, nothing has changed for me.

I'll enjoy the entertainment I can find in it in the meantime. Cuz that's essentially the point.

I hope people like it, and that it does well.

As a gay man, I can say...

This game is "gay".

And not in a good way.

But this is probably just a stepping stone, to get Midway's feet wet in regards to the new engine. I'm happy that there's a new MK game, and while I'm not too thrilled about it being a crossover, I'm sure the next game will be awesome and learn from whatever "MK vs. DCU" mistakes there may be.

At one point I was looking forward to the game, but it's dwindling very fast. I'm tired of seeing Scorpion and the Flash. I'm tired of seeing the same three to four combos in every video. It seems to me that they're putting all their eggs in one basket with the gimmicks in this game. I suppose we'll see. I'll keep an open mind and look forward to finally seeing some new footage.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I couldn't agree more. I doubt I'll be satisfied until the game is released. Hopefully they're keeping a lot of goodies from us. Otherwise, I won't be impressed.

Well when I found out I was like "Oh no... Why?" but then I saw the Ed interview and it actually began to sound interesting. Since the first gameplay video came out there I have realized I MUST own this game grin

This game looks to be really fucking fun. The plot isn't going to be stellar, but it should be an enjoyable experience regardless. If I could enjoy Mortal Kombat Armageddon for half a year, then this game will be worth my money.

I was originally very 'iffy' on the whole game but I have to say I've done a complete 180. I'm an avid comic book collector (i have at least 15k comics) and I have an MK2 arcade cabinet in my home. While I love them both I was very skeptical on how they would mesh together.

Having seen the game in action I think it looks great, it also looks like it will be very easy to pickup and play. This is great for me as the majority of my friends have long since moved on from fighting games, but they won't have any excuses if this is easy game to learn. We have seen some of the same combo's over and over however we had the same thing occur with MKA or Deception videos, and we're not really seeing experienced players in these videos either. I'm sure as players we'll discover some different combinations.

In regards to the videos, I agree, I am a bit sick of seeing the same characters in these videos and I really hope that the next round of videos shows off at least 4 new characters. Preferably Joker, Green Latern, Kitana and Liu Kang.

My overall view of this game has changed to some extent.

I'm still upset that there DC characters in the game. Still, the awesome gameplay and costume damage is starting to make up for it. There are a couple of DC characters that I don't mind being in the game, so there's that.

I pretty much plan to play this game from the view of the MK characters, so that it will seem more like the average MK game. Hopefully it'll work.

when it was first announced, i abhorred the idea. however, seeing the gameplay has really changed my mind. it looks solid. sure, we're not getting a lot in new info, but that's okay i want to be surprised. all in all i'm supportive of where the team is going. i do hope the next installment is a true mk game tho.

Well...as usual those same typical "fans" of MK, many of which jumped the gun before it was even loaded to say the least without even knowing anything about the game "itself" I think a lot of people weren't fair to it assuming shit like Boon even pointed out like "OMG, no fatalities", no blood"? Which obviously wasn't true....and can easily say for a T rated game, this game is pretty damn, brutal and dark.

I loved and supported the idea from the beginning and kept trying to tell people "give the game a chance to get off it's feet" I mean I honestly felt the initial "negative reaction" was beyond ridiculous.

I like a lot what I see to this game and am very pumped for it. Looks like a lot of fun honestly.

What I find funny. Is when we got the first WP to this game that night. I said I liked the idea, and people got all pissed. Back then, most of those haters took my VS sig and added all kinds of hate. Now most of them love it. Funny how that works. grin

You already know how my feelings are for this game. If it was out now, It would be all I would be playing.

Well, it's been several months since the announcement...

... and I still don't like this game.

Besides being an incredibly blatant, obvious cash-in on another popular franchise, nothing that was promised has really been realized. The game looks just as robotic, stiff, and jerky as the previous games, the graphics are good, but not stellar, and the art direction is as far from "Gears of War" gritty as possible. Nothing against DC, I love them, but this isn't chocolate and peanut butter here; more like marshmellows and ketchup.

So, I'm still saying I'm not going to buy this game until I rent it and the price goes down. Or I might just wait for the "real" MK8 to show up... when Sonya gets a sex change back to a woman.

This still sounds like a load of bollocks. A new Mortal Kombat game would be lovely. Whatever the fuck this is, I don't know. I still hate this crossover.

I was..extremely pissed. Yet until I found out there would be T rated level violence I thought I could take out my anger by ripping out Superman's spine..when that hit the fan then I got even more pissed off.

And now I'm somewhat less pissed. Game looks like it'll be okay but my Anti-DC button has already been pushed.

so I go from very angry face to just angry face.

I felt iffy about this game when the news first reached me. I could not imagine how Mortal Kombat could fit with DC comics. I believed that because of the crossing of the two worlds there would be no fatalities and signature Mortal Kombat elements that made me play the previous games.

After learning a bit about the current line-up of characters and viewing videos on gameplay, interviews, and trailers I have decided this game might not be so bad after all.

I read this forum on occasion but never post, but there are sentiments here that echo mine, so I'll throw my 2 cents in.

I was against this game from the beginning, mostly because I hate comic books and never read them. I don't like comic book-based movies either, other than the Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson Batman movie, and The Dark Knight was pretty intense. I am familiar enough with the Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman characters to not be at a total loss for context, but still, when I heard about the game I was VERY underwhelmed. When they put out the first 4 renders, I looked at Superman and said to myself "this guy has no business in a Mortal Kombat game".

Like others, after learning more about the game I decided I'd give it a chance. The idea of a story mode that seems like Konquest mixed with standard arcade mode sounded ok, even though I could care less about a DC-based storyline. The inclusion of fatalities is obviously also a positive.

However, the more I see and learn about the game, the more my interest level is going back to what it was in the beginning. As another poster mentioned, the graphics are not that impressive, and the fighting looks VERY stiff, specifically in the Klose Kombat mode. The character roster sucks IMHO. I am sick to freaking death of Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat... errrrrrr, I mean Liu Kang. Sonya and Jax are terrible characters. Shang Tsung is ok, but I'd rather see Quan Chi. The last 3 MK characters are going to be Raiden, Mileena and either Kung Lao or Johnny Cage, and Mileena is alright but none of the other 3 excite me at all. The DC roster is trash too. I mean wtf is Shazam? I thought that was Shaquille O'Neal. The Flash and The Green Lantern? Seriously? As stated before... "gay".

At this point, I see this becoming the 2nd MK fighting game that I don't buy (didn't buy MK4).
The main thing that was making me not exited about the game was the history of MK play mechanics. It still looks weird, but a lot more fluid than before with the custom combos.

I'm still not very exited for it, but I do have it on pre order. Not sure if it'll stay that way.

I went to gamestop to pre order Tekken 6, but it wasn't available, so I got MK vs DC, thinking eh..., might as well.

The thought of switching that pre order to Tekken 6 when it's ready, crosses my mind all the time though. Right now I just feel like getting the game just to have it, out of curiosity, not really because of excitement.

What I've seen is still not looking good enough to compete in my preference. It's better, but not quite there yet.

I hated the idea and thought it was a joke at first and was pissed and like wtf are they thinking now I just don't care at all about this game, it's like it doesn't even exist to me that way no matter how it turns out I wouldn't get disappointed.

Yep, totally agree dude. Now I'm just getting a kick out of the people "ripping the graphics" seriously, they look awesome to think otherwise is simply being a hater or living in denial..*rolls eyes*
